And on a completely unrelated note to everything, happy 5k ^.^

Ironically, all of these Barding questions are for the sole purpose of armor for my future Cat.

Re: Cormyr!

Please welcome DM Trust in the Lord, who will be taking over Thay.

We've had four new DMs to begin this year, and what's more, only four games now need a DM, and each has only one PC in them. This is possibly the absolutely best state RoA has been in since I joined. :D

Let's hope it stays that way...

Re: Welcome!

Hey all,

To those interested, I will be starting up an ECL 3-4 Thesk game. I will put up proper announcements once I have solidified some things and started the appropriate threads.  So keep an eye out if you are interested.

Re: Welcome!

Welcome to all the new DMs, and I am also glad to see that the Dalelands are back in operation. That is where I first started playing, and it is where I return to time and again for fun. I guess that is where my home in the realms is, Daggerdale in particular.

Re: Welcome!

Hi. I have a question. With some feats and skills, or other abilities not decided upon as accepted or denied, how does one go about looking to see if that can be used to build a PC character for an adventure.

For example, I was looking at from Libris Mortis, tomb tainted soul is not an accepted feat. How does one go about getting that accepted, or find out if not acceptable?

Re: Welcome!

If it's not marked as either allowed or banned, then it's currently undecided. To ask for consideration, a PC can request it in the 'Players, Have A Request?' thread, while DMs can go straight to 'Player Requests' in the DM's Lounge. As a DM, you can do that.

There have been a number of new players added to the board, so I wanted to take a moment to say welcome.

Please be sur to check out the threads in this game, as RTJ information, as well as other important information for character generation, is contained here.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM any of the DM's, or ask here.  We are all here to have fun, and are ready to answer any questions.

Re: Kara-Tur Bubble Region now open

Greetings Everyone!

I'm one of the newbloods spoken of by DM Kilric.  Luckily I have a
plethora of Faerun books and don't have to really worry too much in this
reguard . . . (ie. Waterdeep; Players Guide to Faerun;
Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide; Champions of Ruin; Lost
Empires of Faerun
; Underdark; Shadowdale; Faiths and Pantheons; and Cormyr.

I hope to be campaigning in the very near future!

Re: Kara-Tur Bubble Region now open

BTW, this is our requested procedure:
1) Look at advertised games
2) Think of a character concept
3) PM the DM of an advertising game to discuss that concept
4) If accepted, make the character and submit it for approval
5) If approved, then your DM will give you a link to where the game is hosted
6) Play!

One more thing: every new PC is limited to only one (1) character per player. You can request a second if you've been around a few months, behaved and there's space for it.

Re: Kara-Tur Bubble Region now open

PC Ming-Ming:
I used to play a cavalry character, and horseshoes of the zephyr are must-haves.  I also suggest the Arms and Equipment Guide for some other good mount-related magic items, including saddles, saddlebags, and collars.  I also recall that RPGA Living Greyhawk used to specify that certain items such as belts and cloaks could be used by mount-creatures.  Honestly though, if you're doing your job right and have the right feats, you shouldn't ever really have to worry about losing your mount to attacks and damage.  Saddleback (Regional Feat) is a must-have for example, in addition to the basic vanilla Mounted Combat feat.  Also, I used to keep a figurine of wondrous power just as a emergency back-up for situations when I just couldn't bring my mount with me.  The best ones are the Ivory Goats and the Obsidian Steed.

Me:
It's mostly about the saves and such.  For example, when I get it at level 5, my Paladin mount will have a will save of +1 or +2.  Total.  One enemy with Charm Animal and suddenly my mount is no longer under my control.  For a mere 1k, a Saddle-Blanket(Cloak) of Resistance will add another +1 to that.  For 4k, it'll add +2.  Sounds small, but it doubles the saves.

And for me, Halfling, my mount is not a horse(it's probably a great cat, actually), so those Horseshoes will do very little.  They need animal booties, or my favorite fantasy footwear for animals, wraps that leave the claws and pads bare.  Think fingerless gloves, for animals.

However, since there is no longer a question for the Sages, we should move this conversation to the OOC thread.

Re: Kara-Tur Bubble Region now open

Just a note to all the recent applicants,

There's been quite a lot of applications flying around lately, and your DM hasn't forgotten you. They may be busy sheet checking, processing other applications, setting up their games, or waiting on an applicant to make a decision. If you are an applicant, please be sure to respond promptly to your DM so they can get things sorted out quickly.

Primarily this is for everyone who may be waiting on me. ;)

Also, here we're getting into a very hot and very humid heatwave, in which my brain not work so good. D: (I'm in Australia.)

And it looks like I'm going to have a lot of work to do, which is already past the deadline in getting to me. :(

Re: Kara-Tur Bubble Region now open

Sorry for the delay in getting a character honed down. Was truly hoping to take over a character priest for Badcatman. Am currently building a wizard for the Dalelands game if that is even an option. Wondering, would an elven necro vermin enfatuated wizard, or a human Tuigan female horse wizard work better?

Re: Kara-Tur Bubble Region now open

Necro is generally frowned upon in RoA.  If not outright not allowed, I don't remember of the top of my head, though I'm sure I could find the actual rulings.  Check the PC genreation thread, or I'm sure BCM will confirm it availablility to PC's.

Likely your second option would fit better into the comunity.

If you want to know whether a realm has room, PM the DM of teh region you are interested in.  DM Gypsy runs the region.
