Re: Volume 2, Chapter 1 - The Test of the Badger
Nodding in approval of her silence, Kakita Yaimoko reached out and adjusted the angle of her weapon slightly and balanced a stone upon it's flat surface.
"This is the completion of the perfect strike," he noted, "all of your practice, all of your technique, all of your skill is meant to bring about this moment where the stone is balanced on the blade. Observe, but do not let the stone fall."
Picking up another rock from the ground, he examined it for a moment, then flicked it into the air. Smoothly, his body shifted as he took his stance and struck, quick as lightning with only a whisper of steel and the sudden ring of steel and stone.
Balanced on the blade was the pebble he had launched into the air.
"Like the stone, every opponent is different, every situation, unique. But none of it matters, if you focus on this, the perfect strike."
