As Gabriel left the others behind and ran in the direction of the hiding shadow, the shadow moved away, running before him. The shadow ran this way and that, making sure to stay ahead, but not too far ahead. As if he wanted to be pursued.

Gabriel continues to follow the shadow, but calls out to it where are you leading me, and why?" Gabriel was sure that the shadow was leading him somewhere but had no idea where.

The shadow continued to lead Gabriel this way and that. And as he turned a corner, the shadow looked back as he was illuminated by the silver light of Solinari. And Gabriel could see that the shadow was wearing heavy robes of coarse linen and a gauze veil over his face. But in the turn, the veil was a little askew. Enough for Gabriel to see the delicate features of an elf beneath it.

An elf, maybe he was after the key. Gabriel took a second to pull the key from his bag. He held the box out with one large hand and with the other opened the lid. As he did so the music began to fill the alley.

The elf stopped and looked at Gabriel and the music box, but he did not approach. He did not speak.

Gabriel approached the cloaked elf. He held the box in front of him and did his best to not look threatening. "We were sent to find this, but we cannot tell what it's purpose may be. Can you help us?" Gabriel knew that he and his friends were tangled up in this now and he would see it out o its end with or without them.

As Gabriel moved closer, the elf moved away as he had been doing up until that time. But before he turned around the corner, the elf looked back once more. And this time he spoke.

"I will be back."

"But..." Gabriel moved forward again "We need answers." Gabriel knew his plea would most likely fall on deaf ears but he voiced it none the less.

As Gabriel had guessed, the elf didn't listen. Instead he turned around a corner and left.

Gabriel closed the box and stowed it in his pack. He then sighed and attempted to make his way back to the others after all they may still need his help.
