You are conveyed to a vat center in SDK Sector in a Shooters production autocar.  A quick check of your PDC's reveals that you have two hours, 50 minutes left in the mission until your transbot is scheduled to arrive.

As you are driving, the PDC's for CL, Dexter, Ginger, and Vicsis beep with a new message.


Tension Level 5

At the vat center, a couple dozen INFRARED workers are being kept huddled together under observation by a single RED Internal Security agent who is sure glad to see a Troubleshooter team on the scene.

"Twenty-one minutes ago, a standard Series 3 scrubot entered the office of the RED-Clearance shift supervisor, one Mark-R-MAK-6.  The door was closed.  INFRARED staff reported hearing raised voices from the office--both human and the bot--and then sounds of violence.  The door appears to have been locked.  The bot, so far as anyone knows, is still inside the office.  There hasn't been any noise in there in the last seventeen minutes.  I haven't gone into the office because my orders were to round up the staff and prevent them from leaving until they're cleared of suspicion."  He lowers his voice and whispers, "Which will probably take the rest of their lives."

He points you toward the door to the office.  "That's all I know.  Be my guest."

Dexter waits to make sure the Shooters video team is ready, then walks forward with mock bravado, as if he is Doc Mania.  "Let's go check out this bot.  I won't let a locked door stand in our way!"

Falling back into character, Ginger says, "A vat center?  We're at a VAT CENTER??  My best friend died in a vat."  She is visibly upset.  "And it was all my fault!  Maybe she's here, haunting this place.  Maybe we'll see her if we just complete this mission."  She gestures toward the door and says to Dexter, "Equipment Guy, go open the door and see what's inside."

"Violence! You haven't seen violence." CL says in a voice way too deep for his body, "No one knows violence!"

You try the door, but it is still locked.  The scrubot apparently locked it from the inside.  You are sure it can hear your voice from where you stand.

And if you don't want to try that, Brian-R says he has some explosives which would make for a great reality show spectacular.
