Anauroch: The Black Scorpions

23 Elient, 1375, early morning before dawn

As Glim Leads you east, the Black Road stretches before you like an endless, inky ribbon, and the pale sands seem to cast an eerie glow in the pre-dawn light.  You know from your previous travels, that you will move at a good pace for about a day, before turning toward the south.

The sun rises, and the red orb on the horizon before you soon becomes a brilliant yellow-white hammer beating you down against the unforgiving desert landscape.  It is about mid-morning when Glim guides you off the road a short way.  Ha'laam begins setting up a pair of large canvas lean-tos to provide shade for both the people and the horses during the noon rest-time.  The camels seem relatively unaffected, and are content to kneel in the sand, with legs folded beneath.  As Lanka disembarks Zadda Blimth, the cantankerous beast tries to nip her with large yellowed teeth.

Glim sees to his horse, then sits cross-legged in the shade. In his typical terse manner, he tells you that once the sun is halfway down the sky in the afternoon you will be traveling for several more hours into the evening.

Re: Anauroch: The Black Scorpions

Lysande is content with the distance travelled so far, however, as a security measure she sends out Aluvendar for scouting a one-mile perimeter around the camp, just as a precaution. The sun elf blinks frequently as she watches the black-feathered familiar disappear into the sky.

Once settled under the main tent, Rend silently listens to his new companions small talk hoping to learn more of his fellows.

Tuar stands over Lysande, almost as if at guard, with his sword loose in his belt.  He speaks not at all unless prompted by someone else.  Even then, he avoids small talk.

Re: Anauroch: The Black Scorpions

Carefully studying each of her companions for signs of heat exhaustion or dehydration, Aelynia finally goes to sit in the shade of the tent where she can take off her monk robes that shield her from the sun.  Prepared for the dry heat of the desert, Aelynia's clothing is scarce and made of light, breathable cotton that clings closely to her skin so as not to get in the way during conflicts.

OOC: If it becomes to crowded beneath the tent, Aelynia will give her position to someone else, putting her robes back on, particularly her hood to protect her skin.

Re: Anauroch: The Black Scorpions

Joseph first helped Aelynia off his camel, before following her down.  After whispering a word or two into the camel's ears, he followed Aelynia again, sitting down next to her.  He didn't say much, either, instead just staying in the shadow, relaxing.

Aelynia Th'wil:
OOC: If it becomes to crowded beneath the tent, Aelynia will give her position to someone else, putting her robes back on, particularly her hood to protect her skin.

OOC: If that happens, Joseph will put up a tent of his own that Aelynia can use.  :)

After dismissing his mount, Alister looks around camp for something to do.
