The Dalelands ARPs (Adventure Reply Posts)

Adventure Seeds

Post here to cast your vote for your first and second choice of adventure.  The adventure which gets the most first-place votes wins and we will run with that one.  If there is a tie, the one with the most overall votes wins out.

Ratings: Listed in each description are the types of encounters players can expect in each adventure.

C=Combat

PS/L=Problem-solving and Logic

R=Roleplaying/Interaction with other PCs and NPCs



NOTE that each adventure features all 3 areas, just in differing degrees, the most prevalent are first, followed by next, and last is least for that adventure.

A note on the PC levels listed below:  The campaign starts with 3nd level PCs.  As PCs go up in level, DMs adjust adventures accordingly.

Also, more adventures will be added once these are played out or once players express interest in certain types of adventures.  And some adventures will "fade away" to reflect time passing, but some may stay and you can undertake them at a later time.

"Protection"

Dalt Kherlor, an old priest of Helm wants to create a shrine to his god in Scardale Town.  The young acolytes assigned to help him have either become seriously ill, disappeared, or lost their nerve and left the faith before the party of holymen could get underway.

Still determined to do what he feels his his god's will, Dalt is hiring adventurers to help him make the trip to Scardale Town and to protect him for the two weeks it will take to establish the shrine.

Pay will be given only after the shrine is completed, but basic travelling expenses and equipment are taken care of for anyone hired.

Dalt promises at least 100 gold pieces to any who help him see the task completed.

Locations:Chandlercross to Scardale Town and point in Scardale Town.

"The Poisoned Wells"

Just as Scardale Town begins to be safe from the plague that killed so many of its citizens a few years ago, a new threat to the health of the people of Scardale is revealed: someone or something is poisoning the wells of the town.

Rainwater does little to make the wells safe, since the are all fed by an underground river.

Magics from the Thayan Enclave have temporarily made the water safe, but people need fresh water daily, and the Thayans and clerics of Scardale Town can not produce enough to satisfy the needs of the people.

Anyone who can find and stop the cause of the poisoning will be heroes of renoun and help re-built the greatness of Scardale Town.

Locations: Scardale Town, it's sewers, the underground river, and ... ?,

"Into the Ruins"

A small ruined fort just north of Scardale Town is rumored to be running wild with creatres, both mundane and magical.  Giant rats, poisonous snakes, goblins, strange glowing insects as large as a halfling, and other creatures have been seen in and around the fort, and some have started to grow brave enough to come into Scardale Town and threaten its people.

The party is one of several who are hired to go into the fort and rid it of the creatures who have taken it over.

Locations:  The runied fort north of Scardale Town.

"Protection" is winning out by numbers of votes.

We'll see how it turns out once the other two players/PCs get here.

That should happen by Saturday.
