Re: Taking a peek.

Picking up a stick, he'll try the old hat on a stick trick, and place it slightly above the jeep, to see if anyone shoots!

With a smile on his face, and a gun in his main hand ready for action.

Re: Taking a peek.

The Canadian yells out to you once more in english. Bastards caught us escaping the mess at Kalisz. When you showed up, they decided to shoot us, even though we were no damn threat. We've got wounded here and a lot of our kit is on guys you took down or in the jeep.

Re: Taking a peek.

Confused because Dimitar does not know where Kalisz is, nor what mess the man in the field is talking about, he tries to concentrate on finding the man who is supposed to be hiding in the wheat.

After a quick glance into the UAZ-469, both front seats and back to ensure the driver is not hiding inside, Dimitar yells back to the "canadian" -
"Where is man in wheat - point to him."

Then, turning to Sergio, "Hey Sergio, we must flush him out of the field."

Re: Taking a peek.

Seeing how no one shot at his helmet, he'll peak over the jeep for a quick look. To see if he can see anyone.

The next plan would be to use a body. That could wait.

Re: Taking a peek.

Peering into the front of the vehicle reveals the driver slumped down sideways over the seat with his intestines hanging out of his belly. One of Dimitar's shots had gone straight though the thin metal of the UAZ and ripped a large portion of his lower body from him.
The other of the two bullets that hit the vehicle has smashed beyond repair the radio.
Looking outside the vehicle, neither Dimitar nor Sergio spots the other Pole.

Grenade? Sergio asks.

Feeling that it might just be easier to assume the Pole has run off?!
He looks around for other cover, to try a different angle and see what he could see from there?! (But won't move there yet!)

Re: Taking a peek.

I will continue to assess the condition of the wounded, and grimace as one of the men ask to point him out. he mumbles under his breath, If I could see him I'd shoot him myself. He will rip off a piece of a sleeve or a pantleg if he has to to at least stop bleeding, and furrow his brow. "Damn, I NEED that medkit!"

[Private to Nuked:  How bad are the wounds, and is there a way I can get the Kits myself, now that Gary freed my hands?]

Turning to Dimitar. Well zeems we have a foo friends? Would be that theyz un-armed! He trys to smile despite their dangerous situation.

Shouting out to 'the field behind the car', If you RUN now we won't shoot you. But go. We have this area now!

He then gets another idea and tries to crouch downa nd see if he can see any movement from looking UNDER the car? (And if it's not going anywhere, if he crawls under the car, using it as cover, he should have a nice sniping position - no?)

Re: Taking a peek.

[Private to Sergeant Michael Gallin: The medikits along with most of the rest of your gear, were shared out amongst the Polish infantry who are now lying either dead of dying about 350m away.]
The German and Norwiegen are not in danger of dying but the German will not be walking by himself any time soon.
The Pole appears to have dissappeared into the waist high wheat. There is no sign of him either in, under or near the UAZ.

Meanwhile, the other, larger group as attending to their wounded, searching the Polish infantry and appear to have taken one of them prisoner.
Also, two of them are racing towards you and are now about 150m away. One is armed with a RPK and the other a AK.

Yell:
See the wheat he crushed down when he entered the field? Wheat fields generally let you follow people right through them. If you want to follow him, that man-sized entry point is where he went in....

Accompany that with an illustrative pointing gesture, and add in some shouted directions like "3m towards me, 10m in front of your position" or whatever is actually appropriate.

To Mike:
I'll go see if I can round up a medkit.

In a combat crouch, watching the wheat field, towards either the nearest downed figure or the UAZ (whichever is closer).

Yell:
We have wounded. I need to find a medical kit.

If people are running to us. I'll try getting in the back seat and using it as cover and a brace. Get my weapon out and shout "NO-ONE APPROACH"
(In as many languages as I can, english, french, bulgarian..)

trying to get as much cover as possible and as much view as well!

Re: Reply

The Pole dissappeared right at the rear of the UAZ. There is no sign of him now but he can't have gotten far without showing a definate trail or creating a "wave".
Two soldiers are approaching at a run from the main battle site and are now only about 120m away from the vehicle. Another stoops down and gathers something from the ground before also setting out at a run towards you. They appear to be carrying several weapons including a grenade launcher. They are still around 250m away.

Backing up the Jeep.

With Sergio sitting in the back of the truck, Dimitar climbs into the drivers seat after pushing the disembowled driver to the other seat.

As he does this, he says to Sergio
"Okay Sergio, it is time to get rabbit out of grass.  I drive backward."

Crunching the jeep into reverse, Dimitar accelerates backward through the wheat - toward the friendly Canadian who shouted the warning.

When I see the jeep coming my way...

Move off to the driver's side, crouch, and keep my *empty* hands visible.

Yell toward the jeep (english):
Hope you've got a medkit, guys. We've got two men down with multiple hits. I'm no medic, but the fellow I'm with seems to know a bit about first aid and he's calling for a medkit.

Wait for them near pulling alongside, then make one hand into a fist, thumb up, and wiggle it... hitchkiker style....

I could use a lift back to the wounded. Those buggers were drag-arsing us along behind the jeep like a line of slave labourers in some bad old B movie....

I study the newcomers, trying to ascertain details of their uniforms, apparent ranks (if any), and any trade identifiers I can see. Also, do my best to appear utterly non-threatening.

Re: When I see the jeep coming my way...

I'll provide firing cover if needed. And keep an eye out for enemies in the grass and things.

[Private to GM: Ok the people headed our way, I'll take a few shots (aiming at the grenade launcher man, THE grenade launcher, or anything I'd be likely to hit!) -previous action.
I have NO IDEA how to shoot. (or much of where to look?) Trying to mainly get them to run off. And hopefully a shot or two as he's getting into the driver seat and getting the vehicle started so I can "brace",aim and snipe?
]

Medi kit on way! Shouted out.

(If need be, when we're close I'll throw a smoke grenade when we're near the people, so when we pick up the wounded we're not a target, just a cloud of smoke!)

Gallin will try his dangdest To keep the German from having to lose a leg, and make sure the makeshift dressing he has put on is holding, and checking for shock. He is also getting them ready to be moved, hoping the UAZ will be thier ticket out. He is serioussly thinking about going back to the dead or dying poles to get the stuff back. (Maybe he could run them over with the UAZ?) he smiles grimly at this thought.

Anybody got a spare gearbox?

Dimitar crunches through the gears, eventually finding the one he wants and doing untold damage to the clutch as he goes (Wheeled vehicle skill: 1, lucky he knows where the brakes are!). After a bone shaking ride, the UAZ jerks to a halt a few metres from where Gallin is attending to the two wounded.
Meanwhile the approaching soldiers have closed the gap to only 60m for the lead two and a little under 200m for the woman with the grenade launcher. The others are still searching the Poles and gathering equipment.

Re: Anybody got a spare gearbox?

Greetings Gents. We've got wounded here. I'm sure they'd appreciate a ride until they're up to walking again. Any idea who the folks dog-trotting towards us are? Me, I'm Kett, Gary, Warrant Officer, Canadian Infantry, or used to be the last time we had a formally identifiable unit....

Kett sticks out his hand to the newcomers, shakes if they will, and then starts to load the wounded if Mike says they are ready to move.

Also take a look in the back of the UAZ for any of my kit....

Buggers stole all my kit too. Of course, that's small potatoes compared to riddling us with bullets, but it pisses me off. If I catch that a-hole with the SMG, he won't be long for this world. I'll feed it to him after I empty the mag into his head....

"They are ready to be moved, just watch the leg on this one." Sgt Gallin will help get the wounded into the back of the UAZ, and Watches the approaching group with some apprehension. "Thats the only trouble in this world, you can't tell enemies from scared friends anymore. I could really use a beer."

Re: Anybody got a spare gearbox?

Seeing that Dimitar drove this way, they were once more working and thinking as a team. It hadn't been long, but they both seemed to thrive off each other. Estimating the distance, he jumped down, slinging his gun over his shoulder and helping move people into the back.

Re: Anybody got a spare gearbox?

Retrieve the gear out of the back that appears to belong to me. My webgear would be notably different than the most others - we don't use ALICE clips, having a different suspension system. I'll get my webgear on, verify my pack is there, and try to catalog what is missing (is it just my C7? The mags I've got will fit an M16 too).

To the fellows in the jeep:
Do we know who these guys coming over are? Friend and enemy don't mean wat they used to - you can't depend on uniform or even nationality anymore. Hell, I've had run ins with Americans and I thought they were allies... desparate times make some folks due desparate things and forget who they are...

Equipment

The following items of Kett's gear are still there. The remainder (minus the food PM-63 and tools) is Gallin's: Pack, webbing, sleeping bag (still in pack), bayonet (in webbing), 180 rds 5.56N (still in pack)

Gallin will definitely retrieve his stuff and hastily put it on then. He feels a slight bit better with at least a bayonet.
