Re: Intro

I will also take cover and ready my rifle.
What is the condition of the approaching vehicle?  Is it on it's last legs, or still going strong?
Are there any signs of pursuit yet from the countryside beyond the vehicle?
What are our immediate surroundings like - is there some decent cover, both visibilty and protection wise, within a reasonable distance?
What are our potential escape routes?
Is the oncoming vehicle heading straight toward us, or slightly to either side?
How far is the vehicle from us now?

Re: Intro

The field is wheat but unfortunately for your stomachs, it won't be ripe for at least another month. You are resting at the edge of the field amongst the dubious cover of a small copse of trees. It appears that the UAZ-469 (range now at 40m) is heading for the road at the other side of the copse you are in.
Approximately 400m away, is a group of 8 people who appear to be wearing Polish uniforms. Several of them are sprinting after the vehicle while another few are searching around the area they are standing in. Gunfire and small explosions had errupted approximately half a minute ago with you ducking for cover and looking for a (relatively) safe place to observe from.

Phase 2, Initiative 2

Several small explosions burst in a small area amongst the far soldiers, causing one to be knocked from his feet.

Re: Phase 2, Initiative 3

Dimitar's shots have an immediate effect, with one of the two shots that hit the vehicle going through the windshield and striking the driver in the abdomen. The vehicle goes out of control, weaving about before finally coming to a stop.

He looks down the road, using his observation skills of movement and ETA. Then again to the car, moving in, ready to fire and slowly circling the vehicle.

Phase 2 Summary

Automatic fire is heard from the distant battlefield. One of the standing soldiers fires a couple of single shots at a target on the ground near their feet.
Several grenades are thrown from concealed positions, all landing around the same target and bringing them down.
The UAZ is hit by several of your shots and weaves to an unsteady stop approximately 40m away.

Re: Phase 2 Summary

Make towards the vehicle, taking whatever cover around.
Try to get into driver seat,
(if free, moving body into back seat in case it has anything of use we can find out later!)
Attempting to restart engine, head down whilst Dimitar covers.

Keep an eye on the following soldiers. Trying to keep behind the vehicle as cover as long as possible.

Phase 1, Initiative 2

Another grenade is lobbed. It lands almost in the targets lap (1m long and to the left). Fate is smiling upon him today however and he only suffers concusion.

Clearly desperate, a slightly wounded Pole pops up from the wheat not far from one of the newcomers. The panicked soldier pulls the trigger on full auto and hoses hot lead towards him, almost emptying his magazine. Fortunately for the target, he is only hit with one out of the approximately 25 bullets.

Phase 1, Initiative 3

Trotting out of the trees and into the wheatfield toward the stationary UAZ-469, Dimitar keeps his rifle pointing at the jeep and prepares to fire at the first sign of movement within.

As he does this, he calls over his shoulder, "Come Sergio, we have car, you must drive".

Are they mad?  The poles are attacking each other and we are caught in the middle....

[OOC: So yes, as my last post said hopefully we can get in the car and make a getaway!?]

Keeping as much cover as possible, I'll attempt to secure the vehicle and try it to see if it works. Hoping it does!

Re: Phase 1, Initiative 2

A man pops up out of the wheatfield aprroximately 60m behind the UAZ and yells out in English.
BULGARIAN, BLACK BERET - WARNING HOSTILE WITH SMG HIDING IN WHEAT BEHIND THE UAZ!!
He yells it out in American accented english then yells again in what you believe to be an eastern European language you can't quite identify.

THAT F&*@ER SHOT UNARMED PRISONERS! (In english)

Suprise!

The sudden appearence of the man in the field mometarily suprises you. Both of you continue to run towards the now stationary UAZ.

OOC: Repeditive action unless you with to stop moving and take cover - see rules on repetition.
It is now Phase 6, Initiative 6. Neither of you can act till Phase 3 besides continuing your forward movement. I will post events as they unfold.

Re: Suprise!

[OOC: arrgh whats going on???? I hope I'm understanding this right?]

I'll steadily and "quietly" approach the vehicle, using it as a barrier between me and the "person" behind. Keeping low to avoid fire. (If the area is open to where the suspected opponent is, I'll fall into cover and try sniping! I'm good at that sort of thing!)

[OOC: Though am likely to listen to WHATEVER Dimitar says and follow. Just as I don't know whats going on or what to do?]

Re: Suprise!

The combat appears to be over just a few seconds after the warning is yelled to you. A prisoner is taken and another soldier impaled upon a bayonet, then, all is quiet. You approach closer and closer to the UAZ but don't spot anybody there.

Re: Suprise!

I will wait by the jeep until somebody comes closer.  There appears to be Polish soldiers and there appears to be "Amercian" poles.  I am not sure which is which so I will wait until I see which side won the confrontation.  I am very happy that Sergio and I may have finally linked up with some Western forces (even if they appear to have joined the Polish Regular ARMY!).  They appear to be friendly, evidenced by the warning shouted from one of them.

I will stay at the ready - primarily I will keep alert for anymore jack-in-the-boxes leaping out of the wheat; polish or "american" polish.

[OCC:  I am assuming that the polish guy supposedly hiding at the back of the jeep was taken out after the warning]

Re: Suprise!

The man who yelled the warning is wearing the uniform of a Canadian. Now that you are a little closer to him you can also see that his hands are tied and he has spatters of blood on him.
There have been no shots fired in the direction of the UAZ after the warning was give and only a couple of shots over at the main battle site. The victors appear not to be the original owners of the vehicle.

For your info it is now phase 5 but feel free to communicate, take cover, etc.

[didn't we KILL the driver of the jeep? Oops.... lets not tell them that!]

<b>What's going on around here?<b> I'll shout in french, (he IS Canadian! If he doesn't seem to understand I'll repeat in english) Talking to the man who gave me a warning.

Staying covered as possible.

The Canadian squats back down in the wheat, possibly retrieving something lying on the ground there. You can still see his head - he is keeping an eye on your actions.

Unfortunately, the wheat growing in the field is too dense to see through more than a couple of feet at most.
