WO1 Gary Irwin Herbert Kett:
He shuffled through the papers quickly as he spoke, "Don to go as translator, Smythe and Gallin as medical team and yourself, Miricada and Matterson as infantry support."
"We need Andy and Smith here to care for the wounded and prepare for any extra casualties. Dettinger and myself should be able to provide adequate security if we arm a few of the civies. It's not like you'll be gone long."
OK, that works better, we head out in two mikes. Everyone grab your gear and move like you got a purpose. Bernhard drops everything he doesn't need, carrying only his web gear, ammo, weapon and frags. He stops just long enough to grab a couple extra frags before mounting up in the vehicle, taking a seat near a door for easy evac under fire.
WO2 Andrew (Andy) Corrigan:
The RPK-74 slung across his back and well worn Polish issue uniform and webbing show a picture of a seasoned soldier well used to dealing out death and destruction to those in the unfortunate position to be between him and his objective. The care he is taking as he tends the wounded and changes dressings doesn't fit that picture though.
Concentrating on the task at hand, he almost misses what is being said until Major Finnegan mentions his name. He looks up and tunes his ears in.
"Sir, I don't think it's a good idea if I leave right now. Some of these people are still touch and go. Best to take my weapon though, a rifle will do me for round here."
"Miricada, grab the RPK-74, I know its not exactly what you want, but it will have to do for now."
