A few polish soldiers and horses. It appears you are in a small village, probably in the old school.

And how are we treated in general?
Ignored most of the time

How is the Rio mesh fixed to the different parts of the cell?

Re: Prison

After been captured & remove around between prisons regular & the diferent areas come under different occupation Alfred finally finds himself in the hands of a polish company? Looking around the room he notices that he isn't the only one present in the tight confines of the cell.

Alfred takes a few day trying to see if the guards follow any set routine as they good about feeding the POWs. Alfred observes that the guards don't have a set routine in time but they always have a three person team deliver the food & pick up the dishes after everybody is finished. Alfred checks to see if the guard bringing the food into the cell also carries the key to the cell.

During idle hours Alfred talks to the others inside the cell describing all the different aspects of his previous unclassified missions & what has generally been going on in his sector of the war.

Re: Prison

After several hours of fruitless labour, Dave decides that it is impossible to weaken the door by removing the bolts that hold the mesh in place without tools.

Dave then spends the rest of the day examining the hinges. Again no chance there.

The following day he tries the bricked up window and all he gets for his trouble is a few broken nails.

Finally, he decides that the only way out is through the guards.

Alfred notices that the guard with the key always stays outside in the hall. He does notice however, that the two armed guards are rather lax in their attitude, often chating with each other and smoking. Allowing their weapons to hang by their slings.

Perhaps it's because they ARE lazy, or maybe they are confident in the prisoners lack of ability to excape past them AND any other guards in the area?

90% of door hinges can be easily tampered with with little effort.

Re: Prison

It quickly becomes obvious that the young woman in the worn-looking generic uniform doesn’t speak more than one or two words of English.

For the first couple of days of her stay, she was withdrawn and spent most of her time curled up in a corner. After that, she’s seemingly shaken off her lethargy and has been making half-hearted attempts at exercise.

Via Dave, she’ll communicate that she’s lieutenant Camilla Ashton; a civilian who joined the Danish army (and then special forces) after the world went to hell.
[Private to Dave: She’s from the Froemandskorps. Even if her military education seems to have been somewhat rushed.]

The Staff Sergeant is slowly working out every aspect of his surounding, though as thick as two short planks, is trying to think of a fool proof plan (lets start by removing the fools) of escape, and is willing to hear any sane ideas.

what is the roof made of? (awaiting the obvious answer and laugh)

The rio wire is on the inside of the door?

What can we hear? cars, trucks, over zelous boot licking NCO's who think they run the army?

What can we smell, apart from us?, fresh air, smoke, chemicals, petrol.

[Private to Dave: What do you think about bowl throwing & then rushes the guards with the guns? It Craig by the way, Andrew's friend]

Lt Colonel Alfred Nelson examines the bowl to see if it would be hard enough to cause injury if thrown. Alfred also listens to any conversations that he can understand that may give a clue to troop deployment or there exactly they maybe be currently located.

Re: Prison

The ceiling is concrete and the reo is on the other side of the door. Over a few days of listening and observing what little can be seen through the small window, a few things can be noted.
1. The Polish unit is a detachment of a larger unit.
2. The detachment has NO vehicles besides a few carts and wagons pulled by horses. The entire unit has probably been converted to cavalry.
3. The detachment is commanded by a Captain Grochawalski, or at least he's the one who seems to be most in demand by the men.
4. Each day a few more prisoners are brought in but most are placed elsewhere. Most are injured, some seriously and a few die each day - the bodies are carried past your cell window to be burnt. You think the cremation pyre is a few hundred metres away - probably just outside the edge of the small town you are in.
5. The only language used other than by prisoners, is Polish. The soldiers seem to be reasonably well fed (better than you anyway) and their morale is high. This unit does not appear to have been involved directly in the attacks that wiped out 5th Div.
6. Each prisoner gets a pottery bowl for their stew. It would shatter easily if struck with the peices unlikely to be useful (think the everyday bowl in your kitchen cupboard).

The guards don't seem to be very interested in taking much care of the prisoners, but they aren't going out of their way to make life hard either (no torture, etc.). It seems as though the Commander doesn't really know what to do with you and the others.

All my ideas have been shot down, Andrew doesn't like people to think.
Craig you plan is the most sound at the moment.

Im probably the only NCO in this group so it is up to the command (we're doomed).

Re: Prison

So the plan was set, now all that needed to be done was to wait until it could be implemented. With everybody knowing their parts everybody waited nervously, just waiting until the key turned in the lock & the door opened so the Staff Sergeant & the Lt. Colonel could launch there rapid assault on the armed guards whilst the Lt. took care of the unarmed guard bringing the food to the prisons.

If anymore prisons were brought to the cell before then they would convey there plans to them also so they could help out where needed.

Re: Prison

There are now four of you in the small room. Cam, Dave, Alfred and this weird Scotish fellow who "claims" to be a member of the British Parliment. There had been another, a pilot, who was taken from the cell while you slept overnight.
The plan is set, and the waiting begins.

Around mid morning the sound of keys rattling is heard outside in the hall. Several sets of boots thump on the hall floor. The bar is drawn back, a key inserted in the lock and the now familiar sound of a rusty lock opening.

With the usual lack of caution, the first guard steps inside the cell holding a fresh bucket in one hand and pot of stew in the other. Through the door the other two guards lean against the hall wall opposite relaxing. Both hall guards have their AK's hanging from slings, the cell guard is unarmed.

What do you try to do? (Dave gets to go first due to his extremely high initiative. Read the rules thread and roll if required.)

The guards are caught totally by suprise as Guido launches himself through the open door and headfirst into the left guard's groin. The poor Polish soldier is bent nearly double as his spine is crushed against the wall behind him.
Both the guard and Guido fall to the floor, guido on top.

Then he takes another swing. The blow connects forcefully in the guards groin again. The guard lets out a cry of agony and then slips into blissful unconsciousness.
