Re: Michelle and Don

"Aye, we'll need to get down to business. If there isn't anything interesting in the whereabouts here I'd say we'd get ourselves a room at once. There are a lot of free 'bungalows' here at the Wolbrom Resort, hehe. I don't want certain things starting to fall off, that's for sure, so another place is probably the best way."

"Are we done here then? If you come up with something we can go here afterwards again"

In the same playful manner, Don is still rather pushy.

Re: Michelle and Don

Michelle sighs. "I really wish we would have found something useful here at the school though. But, no one ever said surviving war was a pleasure cruise. Lets get out of here to a more comfortable area." Gathering up a few of maybe the more sturdier bottles of anything useful, which is probalby nothing, she signals for don to keep his eyes very alert, and heads back out into the hallway.

Re: Michelle and Don

[Private to GM: 10 total. 4 lay in ambush just outside the lab door. 3 outside the windows and 3 more at the other prep room door. The pair are surrounded. Experienced, Melee: 4, Clubs]
Michelle steps back into the hall and is greeted by sudden pain in both legs and her left arm. [Private to Sergeant Michelle Gallin: 11 points damage right leg, 8 points left leg, six points left arm] The agonising pain shooting through both legs causes her to collapse onto the floor, the handful of items she'd just picked up from the prep room slipping from her fingers and skittering across the hard floor (except for those that smash on impact).
Close behind her, Don sees her hit simultaneously from both sides with what appears to be four seperate lengths of pipe. The sickening thud reverberates down the hallway as voices call out in Polish, "Here!"

Re: Michelle and Don

Michelle hits the ground unwillingly, a very loud curse word in Polish coming from her mouth. Not wanting to show any hostile intent at the moment (if they wanted her dead they could have shot her instead) she holds up her good right arm, saying in Polish."Okay okay, hold up. I come in peace and mean no harm, I'm a medic for gods sake!"

Re: Michelle and Don

When he sees what's happened to Michelle, Don pushes the trigger and let a few bullits fly up into the roof of the corridor aiming somewhat forward so that no rickoshets should bounce back on him or Michelle.

"By the Lady of Czestochowa!! We are friends, back away!", Don yells in Polish.

With his ears ringing, he is still ready to hold off people with the finger on the trigger when he asks Michelle in a soft voice how she is. He still looks for enemies.

OOC: A lot different to what I got the feeling for before.

Re: Michelle and Don

Hearing the gunfire brings Michelle semi out of the pain induced haze and she looks up squarely into the faces of those who caused the pain. Hearing Dons voice behind her, she grits her teeth, glancing down to see how badly her legs and arm were mashed. With her good right arm she tries to pull herself back in to the room so they have to come through the doorway to get her.

"Cover me, I think I'll live for the moment unless they come at me again." She says in english to don in a soft voice.

Re: Michelle and Don

Don fires a burst off in the direction of the ceiling as they both implore the attackers to cease. The display of firepower doesn't appear to disuade them however and the makeshift weapons rain down once more on the helpless Michelle.
Fortunately for her, she does manage to avoid being hit with any solid blows - her armour and a whole lot of luck preventing further injury.
[Private to Donnachaidh (2nd Lt): To shoot at her attackers, you will need to either step over the top of Michelle and risk being hit yourself, or go back through the prep room, into the classroom and out the other door into the hallway. This delay could be fatal for Michelle though...
Another option is to throw a grenade into the hall and hope that Michelle isn't seriously wounded by it - she's wearing a kevlar helmet and vest, so should be relatively ok. An advantage of this tactic is that the attackers are unlikely to be wearing any armour themselves - they are armed with clubs after all...
]
[Private to Sergeant Michelle Gallin: Beyond swearing a lot and attempting to fend off the attackers, there's not a lot you can do for the moment. It's phase 2 now - technically you can't act until phase 3, next round :(]

Michelle covers herself the best she can as the makeshift bats rain down again. A lot of good that did she thought to herself. she tries to get a glance to see what they at least look like.

Re: Michelle and Don

Don is surprised the enemies hits Michelle even after his burst.

Since Michelle is down, and the enemies keeps on attacking her, Don has to make a fast decision. Not knowing how hurt Michelle actually is, he can't risk using a grenade. Instead he rushes forward, over Michelle with the finger on top of the trigger, prepared to press it and shoot at any opposition.

"Prepare a grenade, lass. If I go down", he says in English

Re: Michelle and Don

Don leaps over Michelle and into the hall. Stopping just before he hits the far wall, he spins about to face their assailants.
Standing over Michelle are four very dishevelled people wearing ragged clothing and holding their makeshift weapons. Their exposed skin is stained with dirt and their bare feet show little sign of having worn shoes in a very long time.
More alarming however is the sight of three more ragged figures near the door that leads into the classroom. Obviously they knew you were there and had prepared to ambush you at either door.

Re: Michelle and Don

Michelle nods and reaches for her pistol with her good hand, trying to at least brace herself against the door jam. "Now, why exactly did you all feel that beating up a medic and her escort was necessary?". She says in Polish to the closest person. "We meant you no harm and you attacked us without provocation. Why?" She makes sure a grenade is handy and places her finger on the trigger.
[Private to Sergeant Michelle Gallin: Just one more phase til you can act. Don't you just hate being injured, especially when there's a few people standing over you with clubs? ;)]

"Lay down your weapons!", he yells in Polish.

If they make any attempt to hit either himself or Michelle, he pushes the trigger.

OOC: The other group is beyond the first, right? Is there anyway that someone else can ambush from another direction? Its a little tricky without a map.

End of Round one, Phase one

With little regard for their own lives, the three others raise their clubs and charge at Don, screaming incoherently as they cross the short distance (about four or five metres of hallway).
Seeing his life under sudden serious threat, Don squeezes the trigger of his PM-63 submachinegun and lets them have it with several quick bursts. Two of the three are hit and fall to the floor, skidding to a halt near Don's feet. The third though keeps coming through the hail of bullets, shielded from harm by the bodies of their companions.
Both hands grip their metal rod firmly as it comes crashing down directly in top of Don's head. The sickening crack of metal on Kevlar (his helmet) is the last thing Don hears for several minutes, unconscious even before hit hits the floor.
[Private to Donnachaidh (2nd Lt): Hit to head for 7 points. 2 subtracted for armour for total of five. Don's head hit capacity is only 4 and therefore automatic unconsciousness for at least 30 seconds. After dice rolled we find that Don will be unconscious for four and a half minutes. DAMN!]

Already laying on the floor, Michelle manages to somehow observe this as she desperately tries to avoid the blows raining down upon her. While mainly sucessful, she is hit once on the thigh. [Private to Sergeant Michelle Gallin: 4 points, left leg.] There is a small ray of hope though as one drops their club to the floor and clutches their wrist - they were hit by one of their own by accident...
[Private to GM: 1 hit, 5 points
1 hit, 4 points

Round Two, Phases Six, Five and Four

Blows continue to rain down on Michelle's prone body. Able to fend off most of the attacks, some still get through. Several hits to her stomach threaten to knock the wind from her, even through the Kevlar vest she wears and another heavy blow to her already badly bruised left arm sends agony coursing up to her shoulder.
The continued abuse prevent her from taking any offensive action of her own - the end is inevitable, Michelle will soon also succumb, it's just a matter of time...
[Private to Sergeant Michelle Gallin:
Two hits to abdomen for total of 7 points damage and a further eight points (big hit) to left arm. I've edited your character sheet to show the damage.
Playing dead (or at least unconscious may minimise the damage inflicted - just a suggestion. You could also try to keep fighting and hope that somebody arrives in time to help you. Saving yourself at this point is next to impossible I'm afraid unless all the attackers (at least four up to a possible seven) miss you for at least three consecutive phases (three attacks each).

Re: Round Two, Phases Six, Five and Four

As the pain becomes almost an unbearalble thing from the continued beating, Michelle remembers something taught her back home in the woods. When attacked by a angry bear, the best thing to do is play dead, with the threat gone, the bear will move on. Hoping her attackers will think the same thing, she relaxes her body the best she can and plays unconsious, willing herself not to react to anything they did.

Re: Round Two, Phases Six, Five and Four

As soon as Michelle stops moving, they stop hitting her. Moments later and she feels hands all over her body, lifting her, rolling her over and generally stripping everything she owns off her. Barely two minutes later and she's left almost naked and badly beaten on the floor as the seven, who are joined during the stripping by three more gather their loot and retreat out the door....
As soon as they are gone, Michelle looks over to Don. He also has been stripped and is sporting a very nasty lump on his head. Both of you are wearing nothing more than underwear, even your boots and socks were taken.

Re: Round Two, Phases Six, Five and Four

Seeing Don out, Michelle lies very still for a moment to make sure they were definitely gone. After ensuring that, she crawls the rest of the way over to don the best she can and checks out the lump on his forehead, and seeing it is not a life threat, but a gook knockout blow, tends to her own wounds to see how really bad they are. She hopes that the others had heard the rifle fire, and were on thier way soon enough to stop the thieves before they got too far. But the eqipment could be replaced. thier lives couldn't. Sighing, she realizes there is no way she is walking out of here, so sits back to guard don until he wakes up.

Re: Round Two, Phases Six, Five and Four

Don's wound proves to actually be fairly serious. It's hard to tell but he's probably suffering a cracked skull and almost definately a concusion. If it hadn't been for his helmet, he may have never woken again so heavy was the blow that felled him.
A few minutes go by and he begins to stir. About the same time you hear movement outside the door...

OOC: He's got a terrible Constitution.

Don blinks a few time, still lying on the ground. He is disoriented, but when he sees Michelle he makes a try for a smile.

"Hey lass. You should have that outfit more often!"

He has a severe pain in the head so the smile on his lips twists into showing it is even hard for him to joke. His head falls back onto his right arm, where it lay when he was unconscious. His eyeballs are circling.

Michelle smiles back, really unable to help him much with only one really good arm. twisting herself around, she looks towards the door, then back at him. She whispers as low as she can.
"There's someone at the door. Don't try to move just yet, you probably have a cracked skull. You're lucky you were in Kevlar, you might be chatting with Madonna herself right now." Looking over Dons semi naked body, she cracks a smile herself. "Well, at least you got my clothes off." She manages to chuckle.
Looking around, she tries to spy a pipe that the enemy was using before.

Michelle gives Don a gemtle but firm shake. "Don, I need you to Stay awake buddy. Come on, I can't carry you back to camp. Especially naked, How would that look?" Her attempt at humor is poor, but she knows she has to at least keep him awake for a little while longer. Picking up a piece of rubble, she throws it at the door, hoping its friendly. She wants to yell out for help, but knows if they are waiting in ambush outside, then it would be like bait to her other fellows. she has to figure out a way of seeing what is outside the door. Figuring she could walk, but not run, she gets up and cautiously cracks the door, ready to roll out of the way of something comes her way.

Michelle freezes where she is at the mention of grenade, and prepares for the rock of the explosion. not feeling one, she cautiously opens the door a bit wider, looking for whoever spoke the warning, hoping like hell they didn't launch a grenade in on her. Cautiously she sticks her head out for a quick peek.
