I hope she'll be ok.  I know how helpless one can feel as a parent with a sick child.  Hang in there.  Hope she gets well soon.

Re: Late and useless....

Nuked,

Dealing with an ill loved-one is a little stressful, to say the least!

As well, things had slowed down quite a bit before that for technical reasons. Maybe we should put the game on temporary hiatus and pick it up again when you've had a bit of a break?

That way we pick things up when you're ready, and in the mean time we're reassured that the game will progress, just some time in the future.

To give some context, I put my own game on hiatus for 4 months. When I restarted, all the actually active players from before came back, all the players who were inactive before that were replaced with new players, and it's still going strong. So I don't think people mind if you take a break, just let them know what the score is. Those that are interested will be there in the future for you, circumstances permitting!

Tony

Re: Late and useless....

Heya!

Long time etc...

Just read about your daughter, nuked! Had no idea what disease that was, and by googling it, I wasn't the least calmed down! Take your time, nuked, you really must!

The problems I have in MY family is nothing compared to yours. The only thing is that it takes forever to fix it! I have, together with my 2 daughters and my son been sick since February, with few days of relieves... From my double pneumonia in February/March, we are now down to being constantly with a cold. That's the problem with TWAR, it can take forever before it goes away...

Anyway, I've been working etc for some time now, but I'm still tired as hell when I come home.

Give me a PM when you are up for it again, Nuked, and I'll try to be regular again, even if I might not be able to post every day.

Re: Late and useless....

Thanks all.
She's out of hospital now, but having a little trouble walking for more than a few minutes. One of the effects of the disease is that it kills flesh, both muscles and internal organs - this is one of the main reasons it's so deadly and not many survive once it progresses past flu-like symptoms.
Fortunately she's only got the one spot on the back of her leg about an inch across. No idea how deep it is (my guess is about 1/2 to 1 inch), but it's right in the middle of her calf. Will take a few weeks (minimum) until she's able to walk for more than a few minutes again, and chances are she'll end up with a nasty scar.
It could of course been MUCH worse. From what I've been able to gather, and what the doctor has said, another few hours and there'd have been a strong possibility of gangrene followed by amputation, and probably significant internal damage too including brain damage. Another half a day to 24 hours without treatment, and it's likely she wouldn't have survived - it's a treatable disease, but the really obvious symptoms don't show until it's nearly too late (early on it's a lot like a bad case of the flu). Treatment consists of about ten buckets of antibiotics in the first half hour, plus replacement of fluids and handfuls of painkillers (morphine in her case).

Might as well assume that everyone is inside except for those on watch (NPCs - Bader, Bloomfield, Steven).

I was going to update tonight but I've run out of time. It's 1am here now and bed is beckoning.
I'll try again tomorrow (may even manage while I'm at work).

I've thought that every so often in the past, but then it seems to start up again just when I'm thinking of quitting for lack of movement.

(Still be nice to know if Nuked wants to keep on going.)

Re: Late and useless....

I'm still here. ^.^, I apologize if I take a while to post.

As for Nuked, I know he gets busy, and has endured many hardships since I started playing on RPoL.  I think he'll wait until we describe our moving out, or until he can get a point to breathe.

This is one of the only games of his that I have played in, where he was the original GM (though I could be wrong as I wasn't here when it started.)  I just hope he's well.

I shall try to scratch something down, though I do not usually post on weekends.

--------------

Kay so as for the Market aspect of the current plan,

we're after Milk? anything else?

and then we're going to go visit the Major?

AFAICT, we've made a plan: going to the market.  We just need the GM to move us along to it.

Put it by the other vehicles. A big ass lorry and an amphibian thingie if I remember it right :)

Then we'll speak to the maJor :) It's one of the leaders of the city. Also if I remember it right... :

And yes, it is nuked that has started the game. There have been pauses now and then, from time to time it seems there is a lot of work in Tasmania :)

That sounds good to me.

Tanya has some dresses & more comfortable 'female attire' if any of the ladies going want to borrow something to wear.  Maybe it'll help us in negotiations?

Gee, last thing I remember Virgil and I were supposed to setup an LP/OP and possibly snipe any returning "gang" members.  I guess we went to having totally annihilated the gang?  Ok, so back at the clinic...now we're going shopping?

Some of us are planning to do it AND speak to the major, but you and Virgil (and possibly someone else) should be staying and doing just that. At least that is what is going on in MY mind.
