My Mac died around the New Year and Work has been busy, in fact, this is the first time I've had a slow day in weeks.  Part of me is SO depressed by the gap in my RPOL playing that I wonder if I should even bother trying to catch up.  You see, I'm looking into pursuing my Master of Fine Arts in the next few years and that isn't going to leave much room for anything short of total dedication.

As a compromise to myself ( I love RP ) I am thinking of limiting myself to one or two games.  Something manageable.  THIS is one of the ones I would like to keep.

Sorry. Dealing with doctors and hospitals, as a really close neighbor/friend and his wife (My friends) just discovered the husband needs open heart surgery asap.

its okay been going through my own hospital crisis this week myself.  landed in the ER wed. nite with a blood glucose reading over 500.  not exactly sure what (thier reader stops at 500).  now on a new med and have to record things for a week
they think I am diabetic and that the fact it was making me lose keytones, vit D3 and throwing my electrolytes out of what is that may be what has been causing my extreme charlie horses

Yes, diabetes that high makes your kidneys try to flush the sugars out of your body, so you pee pee pee yourself half to death. I take over the counter pottassium to prevent leg cramps.

I urge EVERYONE to get their A1C checked! You can BUT the kits to test them at Walmart, called Relion and some others too. They cost like $10 and they send you your results free. Diabetes is a silent disease, and can do a lot of damage to kidneys, heart, eyes, brain etc before the symptoms really become noticeable. I was lucky myself and caught mine just as it went from pre-dibetes to full diabetes, by using one of those kits. The reading on the kit results made me seek the doctor for more tests.

Although classes are out, I'm pursuing other ART.  I've signed up for a stained glass class starting on July 11th, but plan to pursue ceramics over the summer, maybe find a class on painting.  i haven't heard back on my Application to TU concerning a degree in Art (Masters), but that isn't stopping me from exposing myself to as many art styles as possible.  I really want to put a web page together, but I keep dragging my feet.

You all must take your xp as we give it and add it to what you already had. It's your job to keep track, but be aware we will randomly check to see that it's correct, and that nobody is padding their xp...because everyone's should be nearly identical at the same levels, if you've seen action.

Welcome back from vacation, Stardancer.  Sorry about having to go back to work, but at least it will be a short week :)  Glad to have you back.

you know walked all over the San Diego convention center (which is ginormous) over 4 days (each day mind you).  Walked all over Seaworld, walked all over Disneyland and California adventures the two days I was there.  Swam every day.  And yet when I went back to work my feet hurt...what the heck is that about?

   I think almost everyone is either in the Barn or the adjacent wood shed.  What's going on behind the woodshed is for another game...lol.  Update coming Friday, that's a promise.  Meanwhile feel free to talk one with the other.

   Oh and Crow, there is no tavern, its a very small village, as I said. No more than a dozen cottages at most and other support buildings like barns, grain silo, tool sheds and the central well at the village center.  Its a very rural place, which isn't to say they don't party somewhere though.

Trying to catch up, between throwing clay bottles, work, and trying to come up with something for Halloween... and get started on my Xmas present buying.

well...you could put a stamp on your head and go as 'first class mail' (first class male...lol).   did this at work one year...took a plastic straw and put it in a pocket and went as the last one.  It got a laugh.
had a friend make a sandwichboard sign and tacked gauze to is and put in a bit of brown yarn.  She copied off a lipton guy logo (the yellow and red tab at the end of the string)and tacked it to a stiff piece of cardboard and pinned it in her hair.  she wore brown and went as a teabag.  it was real cute she said it took her maybe an hour of time and 4 bucks.  She won a 25 dollar gift certificate.

everyone disappeared for the Holidays.

I am truly sorry, my faithful friends.  I simply haven't had time to devote to RPOL like I usually do.  Fairaday has been offline for months now, not sure when she's going to get back.  You deserve better than a DM who can only get here to post every three weeks, that's crazy.  The story will never move along at that rate.  Heck it took us over a year just to do the Oracle scenario, something that would have taken one or two sessions tops in a live game.  I am seriously considering putting the game on hiatus for a while, though I really don't want to do so.  Its been running for years now, but I'm not sure at this point how regularly I can post.

So I'm asking you to let me know.  Who's still here and do you want to go on at this pace or do you think I should put things on hiatus for awhile?  Maybe what we need is a reboot, or a fast forward to put us in a better place.  Let me know, are you still enjoying the game?  I want to here, please.

I have had great fun playing Bruto and developing him along with my fellow players, so no matter then end result, I feel that our time has been used well.  I am fine with either result.  If the goal is to bring all of our characters together, then I'm hesitant to fast forward, as combat and stress can often bring even the oddest folk under the same flag.

If fast forward is the choice, then we should discuss OOC wise how our characters will get along... know about one another.  Perhaps a camp scene or something to work ourselves back together after a time lapse.

I am good either way.  I would hate to lose this game, it has and is very fun.  I have noticed a few of the changes in the GM status.  Who is still here and who is not.
might I suggest checking to see if there is anyone in the players wanted section that might be willing to take over a few charries that the players left?  perhaps that may help, or atleast a players wanted ad?

As for a fast forward....we can have a quick fight here and make our way back to the city for the various reasons our groups have had.

I know that I have not been a member of the group as long as some of the others but I have thoroughly enjoyed the game and would love for it to continue. I would love to see Zana grow and develop more. A lot of my other larger games are doing a reboot so I am okay either way. I am willing to help where I can as well.

I appreciate the input so far.  Honestly what's kept me going so far, after Fairaday had to go (she will be back, just not sure when) has been YOU, the players.  I have a good crop of players that have stayed with this game even through the slower times, like this. We've had plenty come and go in the years we've been running AoFnL, but you all have remained faithful posters, and excellent role players.  Each of you has created unique character (or characters for some) that make it a pleasure to DM for you all.  As for those who have left, I am inclined to let them stay gone. I went on a purge a few years back and killed off some NPCs and characters who were no longer being used.  If need be I can do the same again.  I am going to rmail a few folks who aren't posting so regularly as well.

So, we can and will continue, I should be able to post this weekend; I'll do a recap of the situation and then deal with the outcomes of your actions.  I do agree that this encounter is important for several reasons.  Its taken years to bring both groups together like this so, now we have to unite them which is no easy feat to be sure.  I am not certain exactly how long you will stay together, I'm thinking probably not too long as certain characters have their own goals to accomplish, but its nice to have you all together for a while at least. So we'll get through this situation and then see where we are and whether we need to fast forward or whatnot.   I'll try to get back to posting more regularly, you deserve that much.

Again thank you all for giving me your honest feedback and instilling some hope in me that you've enjoyed the game as much as I have enjoyed writing it for you.  Thank you for giving me the privilege of being your GM, its a very great honour and the real reason I still run this game.  I'll be posting within a day or so.  Again thank you, you're words have meant more to me than I have the ability to express :)

Okay update completed, PLEASE DO REPLY now and sorry about the time it took to complete.  I am determined to finish this scenario quickly.  Also note the FORT save I need from everyone and the CONCENTRATION check from the bards if they wish to continue singing.

Question!  If the swarms are entering our personal space to attack us, do we get attacks of opportunity?

Answers to some questions:

Motoko, short answer YES, as the swarm must enter your square to attack they do provoke an Attack of Opportunity from anyone currently capable of doing so.

Long answer, yes, however ranged weapons may not be used, nor spells unless already cast (Zana's does not count since she is currently casting, (more on this below).  Natural weapons may be used, so Stardancer could attack with hooves, for example.  Attacking unarmed usually provokes an AoO from the one being attacked, however SWARM creatures do not gain AoO, sadly.

Zana: No, you cannot currently see the Piper.  In addition you must make a Concentration check DC 20 + spell level in order to invoke your Flaming Sphere, please.  You are free to use the sphere on the Swarm of course, provided you successfully cast it :)

Rinaldo: You must make a concentration or acrobatics check in (whichever is your highest rank) in order to navigate the Swarm and get to the Piper.

NOTE: while your weapons are doing some damage, it is evident that Azael is correct, they are not terribly effective.  Also you cannot see one another at all, except Azael and Zana, and Bruto, who occupy the same square!

Question Since Azael is trying to cover Zana, and is there trying to aid her in her concentration check does that give her any bonuses or reduce the need for her to make a check..after all Azael is covering her from the swarm to a large degree and offering moral support.

Hey Azael, this is what I will do.  If you are willing to take the damage from HER swarm attack, as well as your own, I'll give Zana a +4 to her next concentration check.  Its still a confusing and scary situation, and the swarm is still disorienting and frankly scary, but you're shielding her from the worst of it.  Of course this means you take more damage.  The plus four would stack on top of her usual mods of course which are, I believe +6, so the next concentration roll would be at plus ten.  So Zana if you'd like to try again, Azael can help if he's willing.

well...just got home and slept in my own bed.  yeah so comfy even if covered with cat hair...lol.
Went to San Diego for Comic-con (I usually go every year).
This years vacation was awkward though.  lot of problems.
got to the airport, plane was supposed leave at 730pm, there was a medical emergency when it left Seattle so it did not get to Anchorage until nearly 10pm. Okay meant my layover in Seattle would be less than 4 hours than 6.  next leg was okay and got in on time.  Had a week until Comic-con so made arrangements to go spend a few days in Anaheim going to Disneyland.  Took the Surfliner there (hey 30 bucks for a 2 hour train line that is not crowded and I can admire scenery...cool) stayed right next to California Adventures, very nice little hotel, 170 a nite and it had hotel to front door Disney service every 30 minutes.  Came back and had to take a cab to a mall so my rental car people would pick me up (other wise cab ride would have been expensive).  Well as we were at an intersection and got the green to go this woman ran her red and turned in front of us.  so I got tossed about in the cab as we crashed.  thank God for seatbelts but still got bruised and wrenched up.  witnesses and such place her at fault.  the rentals came and got me even though it was a bit far out, but understood.  did the comic-con.  was there but not in the zombie walk where a woman was run over by a car.  what is it with people that do not want to listen to cops indicating 'do not go this way' they don't listen and make a big mess of things.  any how when not doing anything went shopping and laid out at the pool and beach, so got a tan.  won't be ghost woman this winter.  My furry old man cat (he is 16 years old and thinks he is 4) is happy to see me.  now need vacation to recover from vacation.

Well, the bad luck you had was not so bad, and maybe allowed you to enjoy the fun more. The shoe had already dropped so to speak. Poor Zombie Lady though. I hope she will be ok.

yeah the tickets are getting expensive.  First time I went it was 60 dollars all 4 days and preview nite.  Now its about 250. I know they have a contract to hold the con there until 2016.  after that who knows.  There has been talk of Anaheim or Las Vegas.  Me...hope it stays, but we need more room.  Also think it would be good if they held a few things twice.  Say something in hall H (the big room) for Paramount on Thursday then hold it again on Sunday.  Also think they should expand the sunday meeting panels.

Yeah. I have honestly only been to one Con and that was GenCon back in 2010 when Pathfinders was being released. I was there the whole time and would have liked a repeat of certain events and such.

When I was living in Atlanta Georgia, I went to Dragon Con every year.  Now that I live in Tulsa, OK... I garden.

I was invited by a friend to go to Gen Con, but family drama has forced me to remain close to home.

nothing wrong with gardening.  I do a lot of that too.
mostly container as I live in a condo

I live in the country and even I container garden and use a planter box that's 4 ft by 4 ft with a box on top in the center that's 18 inches by 18 inches that has strawberries in it. In just the boxes I have zuc squash, lettuce, pole (green) beans, climbing cucumbers, and a batch of mixed spring greens like Baby Spinach, Baby Green Oak, Baby Green Romaine, Baby Red Oak, etc. I also have a beef master tomato in an old dryer drum, and grape tomatoes and cherry tomatoes in another container. I grow the small tomatoes so I have some ripe tomatoes to eat before the big ones even start to get big enough to start turning. I did pick a couple of tomatoes off the beefmaster to have fried green tomatoes. Then the squash came off so I left the beefmaster alone.

This is my first year growing tomatoes, I have some beef eaters and I'm not sure what the other bunch are... I made a mistake.  I didn't cut back my tomato plants, so when outgrew my frames, they bent over from the weight.  I'm hoping that the tomatoes on them develop okay.

I love garden grown tomatoes, the flavor is far superior to grocery bought ones.  I will have to try growing cherry or grape tomatoes next year.

I've had good luck growing red potatoes, return of 2.5 lbs from 1 lb of seed potatoes.  I've heard that growing them in barrels or boxes gives the best return, so I'm experimenting.

My cucumbers have languished.  They flowered well and started to grow some spiky looking cucumbers, then the leaves went yellow and everything dried up.  I thought I had given them enough water, so I suspect either a fertilizer issue or some pest.  I started with eight plants and only one is still alive.

I stick with flowers mostly.
roses, fuchsias, pansies, petunias, a lilac bush, catnip, a blue potato vine (no real potatoes, it's just what it's called).  Have had Himalayan blue poppies, Chinese purple bell vine, and herbs and such as well.  All do quite well up here

 Tomatoes do ok down, but they get slugs. Also, watch out for tomato horn worms. Seven Dust, or Bayers dust works.For slugs, bury half cans of beer half way in the ground. Slugs LOVE beer and will crawl into the cans and drown in beer.
 Cucumbers need water, but if it's really hot, they can fry. Squash bugs also love cucumbers and can lay eggs in the stems which allows the larvae to crawl down to the root area where they kill the plants. Keep them dusted.
 Don't fertilize green peppers...all leaves and no fruit if you do.

I've planted some Asian Lillies for my sister and put some marigolds and flock around the brickwork in the front yard to add color.

I've come to realize that I have a fertilizer and water issue.  I'm pretty sure that the yellowing of my asperagus and peas are due to a lack off fertilizer, although there could also be a lack of trace elements.  Something that growing out of pots... lacks.

As we're being booted from the town.  I really need to know... since it somehow got missed.  What happened to my monster wagon?

We had taken it on the Path of the Oracle, but left it outside of the God Gate.  Was I able to retrieve it?

Yes our wagons were brought to us before we left (when we rested a day or so)
and it looks like we are being run out on a rail.

Yes, I believe you used the Expert as the base class.  He is listed as an Aristocrat on his character sheet, but I'm pretty sure it was the Expert that was used so we will go with that.  Did you want him to take a level in a new class or continue as an Expert?

Sure, I think that's a brilliant idea and would help to develop his character in a more interesting direction.  Either of those gods works for Judos background.  I think nobility and protection would make for a better healer, but artifice is very in character for our resident jeweler.  Just let me know which way you'd like him to go.  I think Lamshiki is a better choice of the two.

Sorry everyone, I need to update but my computer isn't starting right now :-(. I'm writing this one letter at a time on my iPad.   I will rectify this ASAP.  Also Crow interesting observation.  I do love horses and I do love mlp, but my real inspiration is from Ponyfinder.  Of course this was also inspired by mlp, but it's definitely more adult in theme.

Btw note that Comprehend Lanuages allows you to read and understand other languages NOT speak them.  Also the range of said spell is PERSONAL and requires you to touch what you wish to comprehend at least initially.

Eh? I was under the impression that a range of "personal" means that the spell can only affect yourself.  In this case, it'd mean that you can only give yourself the ability to comprehend languages as opposed to granting it to someone else.

Yes Crow, that was my point.  Let me rephrase.  The spells range is personal, which means only you understand The writing or creature via the spell;  ALSO note the spell description indicates you are required to touch the writing or creature you wish to comprehend.  My apologies for not being clearer.  As I said I'm only on the iPad for now :-)

YAY, I finally figured out the problem, it was my old power cord!  Few so glad it wasn't the power supply.  Note to self, make sure if you are testing to see if the power cord is faulty, do not replace it with another old suspect cord...lol.  Okay let me see what posts I can get in now I'm back :D

No Crow, the Centaurs have their own tribal languages AND as a racial bonus they may speak the language of horses, which is Equine.  .   Your character speaks one or more of the tribal tongues of the Centaur people :-). You do have comprehend languages up, you only have to touch the mare/illusion/guardian if it can be touched.

Quiet and peaceful thanks Star dancer :-).  I went to see Inside Out, which was great, then came home and stayed there, lol.  Traffic on the holiday is too much for us these days.  How was yours?

Okay, I've thought about this a lot and I think, at the very least, we should take a hiatus until end of September.  Our progress has slowed to a crawl, two players haven't been on in two months, one player I know, has recently had a death in their family and may not be back for a bit, The founding GM is still offline after the better part of a year, and I've been working twelve hour days for some time now as well.  I would sincerely like to get to the end of this story and then, after that, we'd see if we wanted to just have a more sandbox like approach going forward.

So here is what I think needs to happen.  We will go on hiatus until September 30th at which time I'll peek back in and post to see who is still around and wants to continue on to the end of the current storyline.  If enough still want to go on we'll fast forward a bit to get things underway once more.

Sound like a plan?

   Okay well, let's see.  We have Star dancer, Crow, Azael, Rinaldo, and Petal still around and I assume interested in continuing.  We may possibly hear from one or two others, but that's certainly enough interest to continue.  To be perfectly honest, I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to continue when I proposed the hiatus.  Things had slowed down and it didn't seem to me that anyone was that interested in the story, although I completely admit that, since I am your humble DM now (Sadina/Fairaday having been offline for almost a year now :( at present), any fault in the story is almost entirely mine (your choices DO influence the story line, probably more than you realize.
   Firstly, I think perhaps the current story needs to be fast forwarded somewhat so that we can finish this current overly long winded tale that should have concluded some five years ago, again I accept full blame for that as well.  Alternately, I can give you a synopsis of how I believe things would have concluded and we can start completely anew with a more broad based story that would see the group exploring the world or open to whatever adventures might come their way.  I would certainly like a fresh start after so long, but I can understand if you'd prefer to play the old story out to some sort of conclusion, rather than me arbitrarily writing one for you.
   So we should discuss what we'd like to do from here on out and what sorts of things you'd like to see for your characters.  I am completely open to any and all suggestions, even just starting up a completely different game if that's what you want.  I really do need to get excited about running again, you guys all deserve a quality game, you've been playing for so long and have hung around through even the roughest and slowest times.  So let me know what you'd like me to do with this.  Right now I'm interested in what YOU want as players.  I will say that, as a DM, what "I" would like to see is more interaction between your characters.  Talk to one another, discuss things, don't just all decide to do your own thing and leave the DM to sort it all out.  Role playing is as much about players working together as it is the players and DM interacting to create the story.
   I think, as well, we need to decide if we will have a minimum posting rate, like at least once a week would be more than reasonable I'd say.  Otherwise no adventure will ever get anywhere on RPOL.  That would, of course, apply to me as much, if not more so, than anyone.  You deserve more of my attention if I'm going to give you a better game.  So let's talk about things.

At the moment, none except for the main game map which was never my favourite.  It's certainly better than nothing, but not very detailed.  Still I can perhaps put something together that is a bit more detailed, Vandis and Valkandis areas and Centsur plains perhaps?

I'm pretty game for whatever you guys decide. :)

I actually kind of like the idea of starting up an entirely new game.  Skipping to the next part of the story sounds good, too.

   Alright well so far the new game concept has the most support.   So, if it is to be a new game,  what would you like to see change?  What would you want to keep?  I'm thinking we need to explore some of the other areas of this world, something more adventurous and less dire save the world sort of stuff.  Would you like to get more into intrigue/politics, exploring forgotten places, more role play scenarios or combats?
   What do you want from a reboot of this game or would you like a completely NEW campaign world?  Personally I think there is still a lot of interesting things left to explore in the "Sundered Realms" but I'm down for almost anything.  Are you interested in keeping the same characters?  I'm assuming you are, but this would be an excellent time to create a new one if you were interested in doing so.  This is the time for us to figure out what to do to make this game as good as possible.
   Ideas?  Comments?  Suggestions?  Criticism?

P.S: Stardancer I am working on creating a new game map, but depending on the answers to this post it may change of course :D

I could see the once player charries being moved to more elite NPC.  Like the Queen and such.  I mean really looking at it as what are the chances Stardancer or Stargazer really get to plead for the centaurs freedom in the royal court?  If Bruto does return (which I hope so) I'd like to see more interaction between them and other captive races while searching for the third piece.
I love playing Stardancer and little kitty.  have not had a lot of time to get a handle on Xi, but if she is needed I'll keep her.
The maps are okay, would like to see them expanded upon, I believe would help.  not many of us have been to the other islands, so being on the main one we are on and enlarging it to give us a better clarity on what is where would be good.

Whatever you all want is fine by me. I admit to being a bit overwhelmed when trying to get this game going again. It didn't go the way I'd planned for it to go, lol. It turned into a lot more roll play than I'd intended. Not the roleplay I meant as much. It was supposed to be a bit more light hearted. It's too complicated now for the players we have and will take years to go a week or a month down the road. We can either restart a lighter version, or retire it completely.

It was started in 2008 after all, and we are still only a day away from the capital.

I  must agree.  I've actually brought them a little further along, Sadina, by fast forwarding time some, but still I've just lost the momentum and frankly gotten a bit overwhelmed myself.  Not the players fault, that's all mine.  Star dancer is right too though.  We would have been further along but posting rate does determine how fast the story moves along.  Here is what I propose.  We fast forward things, the players did what had to be done to stop the shadow fey from completely returning, which was help the guardian fey re cast the spell that created the barrier.  There may be consequences for that, more magic around or some nasty monsters?

So now the characters are heroes and are free to do as they will.  They can wander the lands and get into whatever mischief they wish.  The Centaur tribes were saved from the evil shaman and the Sharukee are scattered tribe, but they are at least free now, which they would prefer to being lead by false prophets.   Sidi is firmly on the Imperial throne, the alliance with Valkandis is solid once more, and Sadina's traitor pro consul husband is dead.  So all is right, more or less in the Three main kingdoms.  The players are therefore free to wander.  We just need to make some NEW MAPS, but I'll talk to you about that more privately.  I

I do want it to be simpler.  I'm certainly open to suggestions. I've always striven to keep combat to a minimum, maybe we need a more free style approach or a more streamlined system to speed play?

OK, here is a suggestion for your approval. We all are back in the capital in the inn district near the largest market and a large square bordering a large wild parkland. There are taverns and shops but any neighborhood is close enough to get to, and a gate is near enough to make short day trips outside. You heroes are now considered advisors now so can be called upon to help with minor troubleshooting calls. What do you all think? This allows for short quests that won't take too long to finish.

Also, those with spells, bring your spell books up to date.By up to date, I mean write them all down in char sheet...in the form of rhyming poems describing what the spell does.  Like I sent a ball of fire! The results may be dire!

Also, do not sit around the new quests waiting for something to happen. MAKE it happen! This new game will be based on ROLE PLAY and not roll play. I have said so before but SOME people got lazy. No 2 laine posts will be acceptable. You must say what you will try to do, and what the outcome you hope for, as well as PERSON to PERSON interaction. Your EX will be based on ROLEPLAY and not roll play!

Still here... oh, I play as both Crow and Motoko, by the way.  That means Petal still has a home.  Sort of...

I mean, Motoko doesn't exactly have a home herself cause, you know, wandering swordswoman and all that.  :p

That will soon change because there will be less traveling out of the city except for the area around the city.
 There will be plenty of role-playing though. ROLE playing being MOST important to level up and get loot and XP!

Hey guys. Sorry about the disappearance yet again. So I'm on parttime at work so I have more time...I think I mentioned it. There have also been some health issues I've been dealing with so yeah. I am hoping to get a post up tonight or tomorrow.

Just so everyone knows, I am trying to get you all to post meaningful posts at least three times a week. I know it's been slow in the past, but I'm back and have a new breath of wind so to speak, so please lets post more often now, while I am in the mood to run this quest. It's not looking real hopeful yet to me. Please try to post more for me now though ok?

If you all don't really want to roleplay anymore, please let me know now so I won't waste the time of those who do want to play.

If nobody wants to play, I'll shut the game down.

My apologies Stardancer, I did completely miss your greeting to Brother Galen and Mariasha.  They are suddenly rather busy, so I suppose it is possible that they simply were otherwise occupied, but you do deserve an answer.  When the moment is right, I will have him answer you and Motoko, but you both now seem to be busy with the cat, so Galen would not interfere with that.

Trying to get players to post meaningful dialogue was a bit trying sometimes though. Right now there's a quest and they've not acted interested much. Well, some of them, not all.

Everyone else, please try hard to post at least twice a week. Three times a week would be better.

Remember, Heroes, ((plus you hero "slaves" now having a patency of "Esquire" like a Superior Servant, answerable only to your Master/Mistress but not strictly a slave now)) are all partial owners of the Manor, Manor lands, and part of the Inn. The Estate Managers will attend to your property. So although you may not appreciate it Esquires, you are also property owners. No "Master or Mistress" can prevent you from having this. No one except the Empress or Hieronymous can take your patency or your property away. Just saying... in case of any misunderstanding.

 Esquires will act as their Masters or Mistresses wish them to of course. Anybody with a paying job actually does this, even though we don't wish it to be considered servitude. Even kings, queens and presidents have to bow down to the wishes of their people.

okay had dr apt today...I will be off line on the 15th until?? (2-maybe up to 4 days).
going in for surgery and will be truly loopy.  some plans are still up in the air.  not sure if its gonna be day surgery or if staying a day or two in hospital, or staying at sisters house (and getting to use her wifi is like pulling the teeth on a shark).  do know it'll be full anesthesia and so will be loopy-loopy (I never handle it well).

Lightning took out my WiFi modem and Ethernet connections. Don't know when I will get a new connection or computer. I will do my best with pos tablet.F frontier fixed phone box outside on the side of the house and brought new modem.

spent the night at my sisters.
Fell asleep watching tv in her living room she came to check on me and touched me (but didn't shake me or anything, just laid a hand on my arm).  I didn't respond when she called my name so instead of shaking me a bit she thunked me in the head!  lol
would have slapped her but side hurt for me to move fast.  had my 24 hour follow up.  turned out Not lipoma or hurnia but a floating rib was being pushed out so she removed some normal fat out from under it (side tummy lipo tuck but not really a lipo)  now side is swollen and limited to 10lb lifting for now.Next big step tomorrow...I can take a shower!  today was a sitz bath.

Glad you are home and doing well... Take care of yourself and don't overdo it.... Hug :-)

after nearly losing my foot, I couldn't shower for two months due to fear of getting my wound wet...Ya know a shower feels real good after a while.

That was my fear.  Of getting it wet and wet getting infected.  The main cut is covered with that fake skin cover so it's okay but where the drain was is just gauze and paper tape.  Its still swollen a bit (well a lot)and I look like someone hit me with a big brick for a bruise.  getting easier to move though.

Glad you are doing better Star, we missed you.  Take your time and be patient with yourself; it takes a while to heal :-).   Very happy to have you back!  Gentle internet hugs :-D

Sorry you hurt so much! Hope you heal quickly! Take it easy until you heal though.

never doubt the danger of infection. My best friends mom, and one of my RPOL gamemasters have both died fro complications from infection...this year alone.

I was stomping around in a Frankenstein boot wearing a portable Iv Infusion pump and wound vac for a couple of months...and every time I rolled over in bed I was afraid I'd pull the 'needle" out of my arm...more like a flexible tube..but yu get the idea...

anytime medical necessity interferes with just leading a normal life it gets OLD REALLLLLLLLLLL QUICK
