OOC Discussion

This thread exists for out-of-character discussions, preferably those involving the game.

Re: OOC Discussion

Anyone else read Arcane Tech yet?

It's .... ok. Nothing amazing, don't expect uber weapons and groovyness. Bit about Golems is quite good. Nice book for tech-heavy games (Such as the ones I run) but otherwise not amazing.

Didn't like the nano's though. The fact in one pic you can see them under a magnifying glass!

Was it an arcane tech-magnifying glass?

Re: OOC Discussion

Looked like it. Got the impression from the pic that the nano-bots weren't quite as nano as nano should be. Plus they looked like a triangular briefcase....

A lot of the tech I tend to reimagine tbh!

Re: OOC Discussion

I don't usually reveal secret dice rolls, but this time I will (just to absolve myself of blame if Darian becomes a Symbiot. ;) Besides, it's an opportunity to show how the system works for those curious):

quote:
02:32, Today: Secret Roll: Gamemaster rolled 17 using 1d20. Goal Number for Disinfect.

The Range on that is 0, by the way, which means Yesrina has to reach 17 with her Faith (which is 8) just to get 1 success. And she needs a Success Rating of at least 7 to stop the conversion. Which means she has to roll between 15-19 to accomplish what's required. Good luck, Darian.

GM - Just so you know, I'm still here and just waiting to get involved .... lol. Brother Battle. Not really that useful in warding off Symbiot taint ... though great and hecking 'em to pieces ...

Re: OOC Discussion

Good to know. You are, of course, free to see if Randwulfe can help in whatever other ways needed. The cathedral grounds encompass far more than what's going on with Ivan and Alejandra. The game's just focusing on those events because that's where the characters are presently. There's a lot going on on the field and if nothing else, Randwulfe is still an extra pair of hands.

Re: OOC Discussion

Oof. 19's an automatic Failure isn't it .... 1 is auto success (Just not flashy), 19 is auto failure and 20 is crit failure. Thank god it wasn't a 20 .... using Wyrd to speed up conversion wouldn't be that great I bet!

Just read the game post. A success on a 19? Since when?

Re: OOC Discussion

In the standard rules, yes, 19 is auto-fail. In my own rules, which we're using though (outlined in the System Mechanics notice, which I hope you've read), 19 is nothing in particular, other than a number very close to one edge of the die. In this particular case, 19 was one of five numbers on the die that would allow for the rite's success. Yesrina literally just made it.

Alright then. Jess.

You guys now have a scout. A Scraver press-ganged into service, but a scout nonetheless. ;)

Re: OOC Discussion

Huzzah! I love Scravers! Playing on in the tabletop game IRL ... and everyone hates him. Well, all the male PCs do.

Is it my fault he literally charms the pants off every female he finds? LOL

Lazarus Harrison. Best PC I've ever created. He's more dashing that a Hawkwood, more respectful than a Li Halan, a better lover than a Courtesan and luckier than even most Auspice aware Vau.

Jess, rock on!

Re: OOC Discussion

Lol.

Best house there is. The Ivankov just want to be Reeves and the Taketsu just want to be Muster.

But the Harrisons. Tech-redeemers and salvagers to the core!

.... and conniving, dodgy, double-dealing, evasive buggers with it. Gotta love'em!

Re: OOC Discussion

Aw, shucks. *g* Thanks, uh (checks Player Introductions for name that is not E_V_I_L, as that seems far too evil to type out everytime), Jay.

And, hee!  The name Harrison?  It has a certain "I'm a bastard, but can I buy you a drink?" quality to it.  (thumbs up)

And, GM: shoooosh!  No irony at all!  AT ALL!

Anyway, look forward to playing with y'all. *g*  Chance is a nice girl, all sugar and light, 'cuz who doesn't want to spend some time fighting for one's life, one's mind, and perhaps one's very soul against impossible odds with no relief in sight?  So I'm sure everything'll get on like a house on fire, or something.
