Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Ok, from the post I'm reading it that my platoon are now engaging symbiots (Could be another BB platoon, but the below is running on the assumption it's mine!)

Actions (In priority order)
1) Maintain cohesive shield wall, give the back racks more time to enagage further Symbiot paras or aerial troops.
2) Attack nearest in range Symbiot without breaking out on my own and breaking the line.
3) Try to ascertain where Theodore is and if possible ask him to use his Therugy. Ultimately I want this over with the ground troops so we can bolster the Cathedral numbers (Tend to wounded, man guns, engage enemy troops there etc)

No desperate actions yet, no complementary skills unless things immediately go badly in which case rally troops using Leadership (Doubt where at that point just yet in turn 2 though!)

There are three companies defending the Cathedral's perimeter - the Telum, the Ferrum, and the Sententia (Randwulfe's company). Each company has three platoons. All 9 platoons are engaged in this battle (approximately 500 troops).

Okay. I will assume your first action is a Shield Parry then.

Oblate Randwulfe:
2) Attack nearest in range Symbiot without breaking out on my own and breaking the line.

Okay. I assume you are attacking with your broadsword (or both broadsword and shield?). What kind of sword attack, are you switching on the shocker system, and do you only wish to make one attack this turn?

Oblate Randwulfe:
3) Try to ascertain where Theodore is and if possible ask him to use his Therugy. Ultimately I want this over with the ground troops so we can bolster the Cathedral numbers (Tend to wounded, man guns, engage enemy troops there etc)

Theodore is with your platoon and he'll be using his Theurgy - no action required to find or instruct him. Your platoon is also supplemented by about 6 theurgists from the Manifest Light.

Okay. Since your Dexterity is 8, the maximum number of actions you can take in any given turn is 8. However, your Wits is 4, so if you perform more than 4 actions, all actions become Desperate Actions. Since you stated that you're taking no Desperate Actions this turn, that means you're performing 4 actions or less.

A Shield Parry is one action (you could also perform a Shield Attack & Parry if you want to). A strike with your broadsword is another action (still need to know which Fencing action you're using). Switching on the shocker system in your blade does not require an action if you want to do that. So, just 2 actions this turn?

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Cheers for clarifying that.

1 - Shield - Attack and parry - Target 1
2 - Broadsword - Parry/Riposte/Disarm - Target 1
3 - Shield - Attack and parry - Target 2
4 - Broadsword - Parry/Riposte/Disarm - Target 2

Engaging two targets, hopefully the first will be sufficiently concerned with his wounds to allow me to take on a second without too much worry.

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

The Symbiot fires a 3-round burst at you on his way down - which you fail to parry with your shield, but the shots don't penetrate your armor.

Now roll for your Shield Attack.

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Your Shield Attack stuns the Symbiot, causing him to lose all further actions this turn, and now he's wide open. Roll for your broadsword attack.

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Your broadsword cuts right through the Symbiot, finishing him in one blow.

Now another Symbiot is attacking you with a slash - roll for your second Shield Parry.

Okay. His slash penetrates your shield, but not your armor. Now roll for your Shield Attack.

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Seeing as the previous rounds actions were successfull I'll keep the same actions.

I'll keep the priorities the same as previously as it seemed a very successfull round for me - but I am reading up on the finer points of the system as I've printed them off now (Easier to read than on the screen for some reason.)

1 - Shield - Attack and parry - Target 1
2 - Broadsword - Parry/Riposte/Disarm - Target 1
3 - Shield - Attack and parry - Target 2
4 - Broadsword - Parry/Riposte/Disarm - Target 2

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Randwulfe, fyi, Fariq just scored a Critical Success in casting Armor of the Pancreator on you - so as of the beginning of Turn 2, you have a 1/21 holy force field protecting you, which can take 16 hits before it fades. That's in addition to your armor. A Symbiot would have to do at least 32 damage to even scratch you. You are basically invulnerable for a while. :)

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Just for clarity, the last post marks 3 minutes since the battle began (2 minutes since the Symbiot paratroopers deployed and began attacking the infantry).

Fariq and Darian, your next posts will take place during the last 30 seconds of that time-span (10 turns).

Ludovicus, at the 3 minute mark, you have just begun assisting with loading wounded troops aboard the General's ship.

The Sententia company consists of 150 troops (3 platoons of 50), plus a complement of three teams of Manifest Light theurgists (around 20 troops), all defending the Cathedral's entrance.

The Ferrum and Telum companies are the ones occupied with the ground-to-air defenses, and are taking huge losses from the constant bombardment. The two companies combined were at roughly 250 troops plus about 30 Manifest Light theurgists before they started suffering casualties. They have lost over three fifths of their number at this point.

Re: OOC: Turn Actions

Just out of curiosity, how're we all doing here?  People still keen on this game?  My character's been out of the camera's eye for a quite a while, and now that I'm up to post again, I'm struggling a bit to come up with an interesting way to say "he keeps doing what he's doing."  I don't like walking away from a game when it will let the other players and the GM down to do so, but at the same time, if we're all just sticking around out of a feeling of obligation, that's kind of silly too.  So basically, morale check!  Is this game still kicking?
