Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

ok long story short basicly it lets you acquire long term service of various not combative experts Such as "healers" or "cartographers" "Smiths" etc.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

it allows you to create things like "historians," "Healers" (using the healing proficency with adden benefits instead of magic" "Scribes" "blacksmiths" etc.

Various noncombative experts who become your associates or "Camp followers (which is good once you go up in rank enough to be officers.

I don't have The Complete Book of Elves.  Can you elaborate on these Special Powers?

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

well Communion allows elves who TRULY Trust each other (this cannot be coerced, by either military orders, or by magical compulsion) to share their spiritual esssence in a way that in addition to the fluff, gives them a bonus on attack rolls in each others presence... Manifestation just lets you seem great and majesticby using the natural features to your advantage (though it works best with outsiders)

Well, since I'm the newbie at the table, literally and metaphorically, I think I'll let the more experienced players make the call.

I generally prefer to not include psionics in fantasy settings.

Never really gave it much thought  except for the fact that in 2nd edition Dark Sun setting psionics is a part of ones life.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

On Combat and Tactics Im looking through it it has a LOT of optional rules some im sure I want to use... some im sure I dont... some Im... wanting input on.

It has rules for Mass Combat amongst other things which I feel could be useful if we get to more then a small skirmish soon.

For me the roller is no worse luck then rolling the dice myself.  (My luck STINKS.)
