OOC4

Map update:

https://maps.google.com/maps/m...pn=0.000752,0.001206

(Always tough for me at work, so here you go!)

Go to Street View, look south from 56 Ave at the west side of the store.

There is no rear door, so Droz struggled out the EAST side door (because she knew that's where you are coming from) about midway down. The tangos are coming along the north side and are at the NE corner, so off to your RIGHT at 30m range. There are some piles of trash (probably not heavy enough to reliably stop a bullet) dumped among the waist-high grass of the abandoned lot in front of you, and there's a garage to your right.

have we moved to a new combat round?
Do we roll initiative again, or keep our current initiative?

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 2):

Yep, please roll init and post to the Character Rolls thread.

As well, I've made a real dog's breakfast of the tangos at the store due to a misreading of the map/photos. I made things more complicated than they needed to be, but instead of another retcon here is the (final?) clarification:

1) The group of foot mobiles at the NE corner of the store are aware and ready to engage Droz and Abbot/Hawke.

2) The group at the SW corner are running for dear life and are not aware of anyone or anything.

3) Pvt. Droz is exiting the East side of the store. She is busy dragging 2 full-grown men and doesn't notice anyone.

Re: OOC4

In reply to Thomas Matthew Andrews (msg # 4):

This was clearer in an earlier draft that was lost and I didn't catch this: the tank driver bailed out on the far side of the tank, Andrews can't see him at all. This makes sense; why would anyone escape towards where the fire is coming from? (And yes, it's clear where the shot came from.)

There is no one crazy enough to be in the open at this point, what with a half-dozen men getting chewed up by a cannister round! I can assume Andrews is just doing suppressive fire down the road in the general direction of the enemy? Or at the dead and incapacitated guys lying on the ground?

Call it 230m. RPG range!

An airburst from the Carl G. would work, but Andrews is out of position to see them (both he and they are on the same side of the road).

Maybe don't change your action? It goes without saying you have perfect knowledge but your characters don't. It would have been better for me to not say anything to reflect this.

It might take a turn or two to gather yourselves, survey the target area. Kelsey could also give some orders!

Abbott: add your .tac bloc? Hawk, when you post remember to do the same. It's to keep track of ammo use and actions.

In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 14):

Thanks!

Wow, the bad guys failed initiative. But because they were less encumbered and were firing from the hip they actually were faster on the draw, so to speak. But due to recoil and like penalties, they completely missed! Hawke and Abbott took a little more time because they used snap shots (which used the weapon sights) and at this close range the SAW was a little unwieldy. But they both hit (Abbot, multiple times).

If possible, everyone please include the Initiative Value, plus the tick cost and sequence in their .tac blocs.

Really, at this point only Hawke and Abbot need to roll initiative (really, Hawke) as they are the only ones in a gunfight at this moment.

I will get on to the other actions ASAP, tomorrow.

Do we need to keep posting our over watch run or can we just assume until we either make it to the intersection or something else happens ?

With the last visible tango down, I think you can go ahead and post your remaining bounds. You should all reach the intersection at the same time as Taras, who is dismounted.

But be aware, there may be tangos that are active but keeping their heads low due to the carnage and covering fire.

We have a medivac we can call in, really?

Oh, and I would like to, instead of hitting the intersection, head across the back yard where Hotel was, in order to help evac.  That was our mission right?

Re: OOC4

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 18):

Possibly. But this is Canada. Lower your expectations!

It might be an ambulance with police escort. Very unlikely to be a helicopter/CASEVAC/Dustoff.

Kel is on the south side of 56 Ave, which is where Hotel is located, but Tremblay and Andrews are on the north side. They are going to have to make a dash across the open street to RV with the rest of the ground element.

That's fine, organised resistance in the intersection seems to have collapsed. The tank is idling but stationary, while the riders and various dismounts are either dead, incapacitated, captured or run away.

Re: OOC4

Ok so it would be feasible for Andrews and Tremblay to move to the rear of the tank and clear there before moving around the left side of the structure Hotel was sheltering in and link up with the rest of the group?
