Re: Team One: counter Ambush
The surviving mecha begins to back away, M'kira's shot hits it just above the hip actuators, staggering it as the thin armor does little to stop the blast. hydraulic fluid boils away and ignites in an instant streams of burning fluid dribble from it's servo housing.
The fact that there were flammable fluids in the machine hinted at the level of tech involved in it's construction. the design was a century old and built with materials now abandoned by most armies as newer more survivable designs were created. despite it's firepower to M'kira's eye the Warlock was a cheap toss away design at best.
T'risas shot connected with the mech as well the light RPG round hardly a tank kiler by modern standards but it's shaped charge warhead could till inflict damage. the round detonated hardly moving the big mech but it must have has some effect.
A hatch on the upper torso blew off revealing a short squat cylinder. a few moments later rockets ejected the cylinder hurling it skyrward the howl of gravitic kicked in as the pod arced across the sky and accelerated away from the battle field.
Like a puppet with it's strings cut the warlock fell face forward, at the same time the Marduk grunts spasmed and went completely still now lifeless heaps of metal and plastic.
Tiny;s rocket screamed across the battle field the heavy warhead homing in on it's target with lethal precision. the flitter was hardly more than an enclosed Skycycle when the warhead detonated it was tossed high into the air and shed it's thin shell in a hundred directions the frame of the flitter tumbled back earthward and bounced across the rocky terrain, at the same time the Psionic activity ended, with a blood curdling mental scream.
Conrad had the last shot, his round hit the pavement in front f the hanger, the heavy warhead turned concrete into gravel and gravel into buckshot the Q'sa infantry was caught in the blast concussion and fragments leaving them in bloody heaps on the ground.
The battle field became a very quiet place, the sound of the fires, and the wind the only sound for a few minutes as the eerie silence of a battle won fell over the area.
