Re: Star Base Scylla

He walked the corridors, frequently checking the system to be sure he was on the right path. It seemed to be a nice enough station, all things considered. People politely got out of his way as he walked, some with an amazing turn of speed. Very considerate for someone new to station.

In his head he cataloged the items he had on him, to be sure everything was in order. Mandibles clicked softly as he put things in order in his mind as he traveled, and the antennae swung back and forth in an absent minded way as he walked. Likely he forgot something, somewhere. But he couldn't place anything. That was the problem with forgetting something, one never knew what it was.

Re: Star Base Scylla

T'risa K'mahda:
"S'viim, just call me T'risa please. Formality is best left for court or ceremonies. Here we're informal. Just T'risa. We'd always welcome a male insight to our uniforms, after all we all want to look our best. You should bear in mind that everyone has different roles within our group. You'll need to have a uniform yourself." T'risa looked to the shopkeeper. "Please add one count for S'viim and possibly his guardian, and please with close that are protective and stylish for our night out."

She looked towards S'viim with mock pity in her eyes "You're going to hate what this little expedition is going to do to my bank balance."

"As you wish it, so shall it be, T'risa,"  S'viim nodded to her, respectfully; somehow still managing to convey his deference in her single name.  Informality did not come easy to one of House B'shah.  Traditions were sacred to them, and S'viim had been strictly trained to value them highly.  Yet even so, space was changing around the Tau Omaeda, and it seemed to S'viim that some of their oldest beliefs were anachronistic, and perhaps should be reconsidered.  Such things were not for a male to decide however.  If the Lady T'risa wished him to be less formal with her, he would try, because she wished it.

He wondered what sort of uniform they would be wearing, then he grinned as he glanced up at D'mai N'ssa and tried to imagine her in anything other than her black body armour.  That might prove very interesting indeed.  Of course he was a little embarassed at the thought of offering criticisms on T'risa or M'kira's outfit choices.  He simply could not imagine them looking anything but beautiful, regardless of what they chose.  He did his best to overcome this however.  He'd been given a task and he would do his best, as always.

When the Marshal mentioned the excessive amount of bookkeeping that might be required, he was a bit taken aback.  It might indeed be very laborious to account for all of their purchases, but certainly he was capable of it, and the money was Her's to spend no matter the amount.  Then suddenly, he realized...she was joking with him.  An Omaeda Lady was teasing him!  Shaking his head, he reminded himself he was definitely not on Ir'leth anymore.  He smiled and replied:

"Already working on it, T'risa.  NOTE: Check station listing for possible chapters of Shopaholics Anonymous..." he winked at his new Boss through his veil."

S'viim blinked when the message icon appeared on his veil display.  He made certain to catch T'risa's attention then quietly sent Her a telepathic message.  ~I apologize for the interruption T'risa, however you are receiving a message that I believe may merit Your attention.~.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth let Balkiir fuss appropriately over her holsters and belt, relishing his proximity and making sure that he left enough space for her two collapsible concussion rods and the long knife.  Then she sidled up close to him to help ensure that his weapons belt was adjusted 'just so'.  He deserved at least as much attention as she did.

After that she reexamined the lingerie that he had chosen.  The tall Praetorian gave slightly startled whistle when she perused the price tag.  "W-wow," she stammered slightly, "This... this costs more per gram than pure palladium.  This had best be made of unobtainium..."  Her tone betrayed a touch of skepticism, the material might have been ballistic cloth, but was more likely synthsilk or neo-satin.  And the coverage was ... minimal.  The best she could probably hope for was a built in barrier shield - presumably, powered by a pocket singularity - because the set of sheer threads that composed this item of 'clothing' (she used the term loosely) didn't have space for anything else.

And Elsbeth still had her doubts that even the Marshal could fit the item in question - it just seemed so... skimpy.  Let alone someone a foot taller than T'risa.  Still, she wasn't going to contradict orders.  And the Marshal had said they were going shopping.  And specifically to pick out clothing.  And the colors matched the CASAR color scheme.  So, who was she to argue?  It may not be CMC Marine standard issue, but that was not her assignment any longer either, it seemed.

"So," she ventured, pointing to the lingerie picked out for her, "if this is for me..."  The tall, lanky brunette turned to regard the tall, muscular Valkiir male, "what about for you?"  Obviously, what was good for the goose, was good for the gander, right?

Looking amused by the back and forth M'kira simply sips her drink intent on finishing it in du time. Clearly things were going well so she turns her thoughts to the future. She certainly enjoyed the thought of picking up their new toys. "I am going to enjoy getting fitted for the shield technology. You don't get to play with the nice stuff very often. Thank you T'risa."

She gives their new book keeper a quick smile. She wondered how he would react to Aziza who was a rather colorful individual. First meetings with the cesti wasn't likely to be forgotten anytime soon. Poppy whom she liked also made quite the impression in a short period of time. Trey of course was a pleasure to listen to with his interesting accent and friendly personality. Balkir and Elsbith were probably having a lot of fun. She wasn't peaking in on them through their mental link but she did get the feeling they were enjoying themselves. It was to bad Leoulin had to go on family business. For once Leoulin wouldn't have been alone as the only omaden male in the group. It would have been nice to see how they got along.

The clone helped keep beat of Poppy's impromptu dance with a clap of his hands, before laughing and spinning the O'maeda pilot back to a stand still - He's always been good with his hands, after all, just like the rest of the Bredren. Making sure the pilot's good and steady, Trey flashes that bright smile for the ladies as he steps out of the shop.

Felt odd, being on his own. Oh, he knew he wasn't alone - He could practically feel the crew around him, and there was always Earnie. Although Earnie had been suspiciously quiet for a long time. It made Trey concerned for his friend, imaginary or not - you don't leave friend behind.

And then he spots a big ol' bug - Twitch - come strolling down the way, with people sidling out. But Trey? Trey just flashes those chompers and lifts up a hand like he's hailing a taxi. What can he say? He's an optimist.

"Oh, mon, tat's a killer look. I an' I don' tink we evah seen tee like before! What be now, bruddah?"

He stops when he's hailed, the antennae twitching in polite amusement. His head coked to one side as he listened to the odd speech. It took a moment to register exactly what was said, accents were not a strong suit.

"Greetings sentient," he responded, with a voice that was a bit higher pitched then human norm and somewhat clipped from the clicking of the mandibles as well. "If you are inquiring of this one's xenorace, then this one is a Klik'chak. It is with great pleasures that this one greet you."

I can be of some use to you and your crew as well should it be needed, but I can not act as a full member of your crew in most cases. My obligations and duties primarily involve S'viim.~ N'ssa spoke mentally to T'risa and M'kira including S'viim as well.

As the alien entered the room N'ssa moved to S'viim's side her posture and stance going stiff for a split second as she focused on the unknown. Her hands did not move toward any weapons but she assumed a protective position between her charge and the alien.

When he spoke and introduced himself she bowed slightly and returned to her former position.  "Apologies Sentient,I did not intend to insult with my actions."

He turned to look down at his pad then back up.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth appeared to space out for a few moments as her frontal cortex processed the flashes of imagery that Balkiir projected into her mind.  She alternately raised a confused eyebrow, flashed a dopey smile and nodded with satisfaction throughout the cascade of images.  Invariably, the nods and smiles came from those images that displayed mostly the large Valkiir male's incredibly-toned and unadorned physique.  Her tastes seemed uncomplicated and relatively unrefined in that way; the tall, artificially-cultivated Praetorian was quite simple when it came to clothing.  Well, as simple as any woman can really be.

She glanced in T'risa direction, the Marshal having become very popular in the past couple of minutes.  There were now no less than six individuals (if you counted the proprietor, Arla) clustered there.  And one of them was a ... "bug..." Elsbeth exhaled and jostled Balkiir gently to get his attention - a sort of, 'what do you make of that?' gesture and tone.  The approach of the Omeadan male and his companion - who moved like a bodyguard - had not triggered any alarms - for neither T'risa nor M'kira had really reacted (well, more than with amusement).

But, when the woman that Elsbeth might eventually come to know as Nyssa deliberately interposed herself between the creature that Elsbeth might eventually come to know as Twitch and her male charge, the raven-haired Praetorian was already intently watching.  Her body was very still - yet the tension palpable, which Balkiir knew meant that she was on edge.  As if her thoughts hadn't already betrayed that fact.

M'kira glances at T'risa for a moment then listens to Nyssa her lips quirking for a moment into a brief smile. "It's a pleasure to have you with us Nyssa. For a short time it's my hope we can enjoy a little well deserved rest and relaxation. However brief that might be I hope that your duties will permit you to share a drink with us. I know it's your duty to look after him. I hope you won't mind if we help after all he's one of us now."

Seeing twitch arrive M'kira turns her attention to the unusual alien. She instinctively prepares to defend T'risa if it's needed one hand dropping to her weapon. However it wasn't long before it becomes obvious twitch isn't a threat. Her ability wasn't going off as well as the fact T'risa wasn't sending any mental warnings just yet. Still she remains alert just in case.

Her eyes flick from Twitch to T'risa feeing for a moment a surprise considering the incredibly difference in physiology if this being might fill the roll of doctor. "Would you be a Doctor that Csar sent? T'risa is here please give your designation and reason for coming to see T'risa K'mahda." She thought any assassin worth it's salt would have known it's target on sight and would have acted without hesitation. Still till the Klick'chack declared itself she saw no reason to be careless.

His antennae circled with amusement and pride. "As you wish, sentient. This one is designated Xik'kik'chec'xix'xix'krak, although one's pronunciation is difficult without the aid of a pair of mandibles and a proper resonating thorax. This one goes by Twitch, a nomenclature put upon this one in his travels. T'risa stood up frowning as she looked over the insectoid. "I'm T'risa K'mahda. You're the doctor they're sending us?" she carefully examined the insectoid, her face showing not one iota of the ICK! her mind was thinking, until the initial distaste had passed leaving acceptance in its place. "I...uh...ok, it says you're fully qualified, so welcome. Uh, this is M'Kira, Nyssa and S'viim. The others are all shopping at the moment. Do you need anything in particular that might make your occupation easier on our ship? The Crow has superb facilities...but you won't know that until you check them out." T'risa flashed over codes to allow Twitch access to the Crow and the place they were staying. "Please return here to be fitted for a uniform of sorts and welcome to the team." T'risa looked a little uncomfortable "Twitch, if you could please find some form of protective clothing as soon as possible. Our team has made many many enemies."

She gave an acknowledging glance to Nyssa As far as I'm concerned. Your only duty is to protect S'viim, to the extent I expect you to stand by and not lift a finger to help us. You owe no allegiance to us, but are welcome among us."

T'risa raised her voice to the shopkeeper. "I apologise for taking up so much of your time. Do you feel you have enough information on the styles...and the variations you might need for me and the crew? I'd appreciate something new, fashionable, appealing and very protective in time for our night out tonight."

And, fortunately for a young and daring future Matron, lifting a finger is not always required to assist." N'ssa bowed slightly as she replied. Her stance did not change, and her face was obscured but a slight wave of humor radiated from her as she spoke."And, since young men tend to pout so when "unfortunate incidents" occur, I will offer what aid I can without neglecting my duties."
She reached out and put a hand on S'viim's shoulder. Then returned to her former cool and confident stance.

OOC: it's usually a major social gaff to touch a young man so familiarly. However a nurse is one of the few women who can freely and openly make contact with a young man under their protection.

S'viim winced just a little at N'ssa's suggestion of a beating, and lowered his head, in a pretense of guilt, but he was smiling merrily under his veil.  He listened to their telepathic discussion without comment, for it was not his place to interrupt two females conversing, even if it was about him.  Besides, it didn't matter what was said, nothing in the galaxy could dim his joy at this moment!  His wildest dream was coming true: he was now in the service of a beautiful and honourable Lady.  He was the luckiest boy in Tau Space.

When N'ssa mentioned young men pouting he looked up at her and stuck out his lower lip, as if to reinforce her point, then broke into a grin as she laid her hand on his shoulder.  His reverie was all too brief, however, as Twitch came over to T'risa and addressed her.  It did not immediately occur to S'viim that he was the new Field Medic, but that seemed to be the case.  Regarding him with interest, he tried to ascertain the new medical specialist's race, but could not recall ever hearing of his species.  He appeared friendly enough, however.

He bowed politely when Lady T'risa introduced him, then stepped to one side, staying close, should she need him for anything, but giving her the space to conduct whatever further discussion she deemed necessary to acquaint herself with the new Doctor.  He remained quietly attentive at her side, where he belonged.

"In that case it's best if we call you Twitch. Welcome to our group and I hope that we won't have any emergency needs for your doctor services any time soon." Which was a fair sentiment since it meant one of them would likely have been shot up or hurt in some sort of accident.

"I certainly won't complain if you help keep T'risa and the rest of us safe. I think your in good hands S'viim good luck getting alone time I don't think she's going to let you out of her sight." Unexpectedly her own mind let a mental image pop up of n'ssa following S'viim into the baths as he had to be protected at all times after all. M'kira tried not to let the amusement show to much. Each culture was different and depending on which one it was the reaction could be as simple as not batting a eye straight to shooting at you.

OOC: T'risa if anyone picked up on that you probably did. I am fine if others do as well since we have mental conversations going on. I have a feeling on occasion unintended images or thoughts sometimes get through. Not sure though exactly how it works.
