Re: Sector Gray Seven

T'risa smiled as she saw the woman. "Ah....I can see why you might be visiting this place of business. I find that most are amenable to simple requests when provided sufficient incentives."

T'risa entered the store, looking around at everything available in the place marked storeroom. "I should think we're all looking for different things. I know I need defensive and possibly miscellaneous. I need extreme defence....and also something more subtle for formal occasions and use on the space station. Our last...expedition proved to be very...hazardous. Next time due to the fact that we are now pieces on the board so to speak, we're unlikely to escape much attention, as a result I'd like to prepare my crew and I for more danger. We were told you could help in that respect."

Re: Sector Gray Seven

It's nice to meet you Abby. My name is M'kira, that is Elsbeth, Balkir, S'viim, Melcor, Twitch and of course T'risa. Stay safe maybe we will meet again and share a drink together." M'kira recognized her now that she picked up on her voice. She suspected there is a good chance some if not all of the others recognized her as well. A disadvantage of celebrity status. If T'risa was going on about her business she decides to do the same. The girl hadn't asked for help and from her record she was quite capable of looking after herself. Though M'kira was inclined to help her if she needed it. The stalkers she didn't care for at all.

"I agree with T'risa Defensive is the first order of the day. However I am always interested in offensive as what Valkir doesn't enjoy new weapons to try out. I will be happy to hear about the various best offensive items you have for sale. I also have a prototype battle suit. It's not a mech but it's bigger then your average powered armor. I am curious about the Miscellaneous so I will be happy to hear about that as well in due time."

She was very interested in what the shopkeeper might have to sell. It was a little exciting wonder what sort of new things she might get to use. Some valkir referred to them as new toys to play with. And this shopkeeper sounded like he had a very nice and very large toy box to choose from!

Melcor stood at the back of the group, keeping his thoughts to himself as he gazed around the showroom. At M'Kira's mention of a 'prototype battle-suit' his left eyebrow shot up involuntarily as his interest was piqued, having been working on something similar himself in his last assignment for CASAR.
"Myself I could do with a motion sensor-comp I could integrate into existing computer systems, I doubt I could afford anything more if I wanted it," he said the last with what he hoped was a disarming smile, though what Melcor considered to be disarming or friendly in appearance very rarely was.

07:40, Today: Melcor rolled 7 using 1d20+3. wealth check.

Looking slightly sheepish as he checked his finances on his computer he looked back to the old man. "Terribly sorry, looks like I had some bills come out of my account. Forget that sensor thanks."

Re: Sector Gray Seven

S'viim walked over to the newest team member and looked up to him, his eyes bright even from behind his veil.  He smoothed his green and gold robes and adopted a proper professional timbre to his voice.  It was times like this when he thought how very much he enjoyed his job.

"Excuse me, Mr Melcor, sir.  I know we were introduced earlier. I am Marshal T'risa's administrative assistant.  While I was not attempting to eavesdrop, of course, I could not help overhearing your request for the motion sensor comp.  Ms T'risa, has instructed me to ascertain what your particular needs might be as our new tech support specialist.  Also if there was anything you might want, or like, that would be useful to you, she would also need to know these as well, so she may also consider those for purchase.  After all, a specialist, such as yourself, does need the proper tools if he is to be expected to perform to the Marshal's high standards.  I would greatly appreciate your assistance in creating your requirements list."

He grinned up to Melcor and winked knowingly.  "Now, was the motion sensor comp in your need category?"

His left eyebrow still raised, Melcor turned to face S'Viim and his right quickly joined it as S'Viim spoke. "Please, call me Mel, and I wouldn't quite say need but it's definitely in the want box. I'll be patching it into an existing computer system though so it would have to be compatible, and to be honest I can make use of as many different sensors as you can get me.".
Looking around the shop he continued "Also if what the Marshall says about making enemies is true, I could do with something with a little more stopping power than my current sidearm."

M'kira looks over at S'viim and Melcor speaking softly with a smile and a slightly amused look. "We have a bad habit of making nasty enemies. Something about missions and saving lives. Our visit to Prometheus Superdreadnought is a good example when he was battling the alien ships the Queen tried to take off with two of her own. Considering we rescued and salvaged a Superdreadnought right now We are doing good in the bank deposit area. T'risa is buying us some nice new toys. I imagine she won't cut any corners so if we need something it's a good thing to let her know what and why."

She of course speaks softly keeping it in house per say. No reason to let the shopkeeper know they were doing that well. He might bump up his prices! Plus she suspected T'risa didn't want to advertise just yet.

T'risa nodded to S'viim, talking to her aide and the otehrs in her network. "It is indeed, but for the time being we should just be polite and let her do her own thing. She might not like the idea of being recognised, especially given her occupation. Having said that it REALLY is her. I wish I could get an autograph or a photo and maybe some advice on how to turn around some of our current situations....maybe hire her too."

Over the network to T'risa M'kira responds with interest. "Honestly T'risa I don't see why you or we can't make her a fair offer. She has to be used to being recognized by now. She is just very careful because of her stalker problem. To be honest she might like the idea of joining up with us. Or at the very least sharing a little advice so long as we don't interfere with something she needs to do. After all if she helps us then maybe she might ask us to help her a little. Which is a fair deal I think all things considered."

Re: Sector Gray Seven

Elsbeth walked around the narrow aisle and rather cramped quarters of the store.  The entire crew (and she and Balkiir were not the smallest of people) filled the already-tight-for-space accommodations quite well.  She listened to the discussions, but had little to add; it would be nice to some additional equipment, but some of the items scattered about seemed more like half-finished prototypes or untested field items.  And some of the things more closely resembled voodoo talismans than useful or functional objects, in her (albeit) limited opinion.

She was conspicuously reticent to disturb anything.  More than once, the tall marine sergeant leaned over to more closely inspect an item, though Elsbeth was very careful not to actually touch or pick anything up.  It just seemed unnecessarily dangerous.  She might be curious about a lot of things on display, but Elsbeth wasn't dying to know about them...

The raven-haired Praetorian glanced back in the direction of the young lady that had just left the establishment having only really caught the end of the mental conversation going on, Is the young lady in need of protection?  Elsbeth had pretty much only keyed on the words 'stalker' and 'recognized'.  She didn't really know the girl, even if she seemed familiar having had her face splashed all over the recent vids.  Still, if the Marshal felt it worth their while to get involved, who was Elsbeth to not offer her body-guarding services.

"Succinctly put, Ms M'kira.  If there is one thing I learned in my research of the Marshal, it is that she has attracted quite a bit of attention.  Among the Tau this can be a most dangerous thing indeed.  Since we are both new to this team, I would advise, um Mel, that we take to heart all that Ms M'kira has said, as well as Ms T'risa's own concerns, and plan accordingly.  Now I have your requests recorded, shall we look around this, rather eclectic shop?  I am certain browsing will offer more items to add to this list."

Glancing over to their new field medic, S'viim caught his attention, then smiled broadly behind the transparent veil and gestured for him to join them.

"Ms T'risa has asked that I create a similar list of wants and needs for you as well, Mr Twitch sir.  If you would accompany us it would make the task easier for me and I would appreciate the company as well."

S'viim joins the telepathic network discussion once more.  "Again I must agree with Ms M'kira.  I doubt it would hurt to approach the Lady, cautiously and request to meet with her.  So long as we are honest and up front about our intentions she will likely not take it amiss.  If she declines that is her perogative, but it will not do us any damage to ask, in my opinion, and much might be gained."

Twitch turned to the young man, his antennae twitching with mild amusement and sincerity. "This one thanks you for the query. Without a proper look at what facilities this one has access to and what gear there is within, this one cannot properly give a list of what is needed. This one carries supplies for an array of xenobiologics, and would say that a supply of medicines designated for the xenotypes of all crew members would need to be stocked for this one to be efficient at it's job. Of course, the better such supplies and facilities are, the better this one can perform it's function."

He paused for a moment, his antennae twitching suddenly in thoughtfulness. "If the group unit is expecting to be in many combat situations, upgraded field scanning equipment and medical dispensers would be invaluable"

He straightened a bit, but still well in the habitual slouch his people stay in. "This one will be pleasured to accompany wherever it is needed. This one strives to be useful."

The shopkeeper moved and shoved aside some boxes and crate revealing the entrance to another section.

I have shield generators... as good as combat armor but none of that pesky puttingit one and lugging it around....man portable barrier generators..drop em, trigger em, and presto instant cover.... Phased Plasma projectile launchers ...point pull...boom.., full multi spectral sensing HUDS, and My favorite pet projects....nano-manufacturing units." He handed twitch a belt mounted unit that was fitted with a number of sensor heads and a holoraphic display headset. it was linked to a large rigid plastic canister with empty vials slotted into the side.the tossed a havy rifle fitted with a hip mounted power unit and over sized fuel pellet hopper. then tossed out a hip mounted nano scale field processor unit.

thats's a specialized nano-processor for medical use, the other one is a mechanical unit..anything from tools to micro charges.... You can synthesize and modify raw pharmaceuticals into tailored medicines in the field, or keep yerself supplied with ammunition and micro grenades....and for the big guys withthe big guns, one handy dandy kill it dead phased plasma rifle..... this puppy don't pack the power of a shoulder fired unit but it can punch through armor, wall, Q'sa..you name it it kills it."

With permission given M'kira smiles at T'risa then turns her attention to Abby hopefully before she leaves. "Abby before you go I wonder if we might be able to help each other out. T'risa, Myself and friends have been in a few dangerous and tight spots from time to time during our missions. If you would like to assist us sometime perhaps we can help you out as well. Please let us know if you need anything. It would be a honor to fight at your side if there is need. T'risa might be able to help you out with equipment as well if you need something special. I don't guarantee it but it can't hurt to ask." T'risa did have some pull in certain circles and their new found wealth didn't hurt. Obviously Abby had resources as well or she wouldn't be in a shop like this either.

She listens to the shopkeeper as well not wanting to miss out on this. "Oh I definitely want a personal shield generator. I also would love to check out the Phased Plasma rifle. The Nano-processors are a very nice touch especially if we have to be in the field for a prolonged period of time. What do yo think T'risa?"

OOC: Very nice shopping list that. ^_^ The portable barrier generators if we get them could be on the ship and only taken out as needed. IF we get those.

Re: Sector Gray Seven

Elsbeth's ears perked up as the litany of hardware began.  And she was absolutely hooked when the moment phased-plasma repeaters and man-portable barrier shields were mentioned.  Fully alert, the tall Praetorian sidled up to the proprietor with Balkiir in tow.

Visions of various things danced in her head - which meant that it was bled pretty well over the neural network that she was a part of.  Pretty much all of them involved something exploding, although alternately she was either artfully avoiding the explosion or causing it.  Both were in equally strong measure.

With M'kira already asking for papal dispensation from the Marshal, Elsbeth figured that it was pretty much open season.

"Sir," she noted respectfully and rather formally, standing at ease, "may we have a demonstration of your various and sundry wares?"

I have a vast majority of the gear I need being delivered to the Marshal's base of operations. Something of a personal project," Melcor ends with a cryptic smile and returns to browsing

The administrative assistant smiled, his hands making quick movements that added or moved the data on the screen flashing across his inner veil.  He made copious notes as always, noting anything he thought the Marshal would consider relevant.  Mr Melcor seemed straight forward in his approach, very professional, and unwilling to abuse the situation when offered a 'carte blanche' for supplies. S'viim defintely respected that, it hinted at the new tech specialist's moral character

"Fair enough, Mel, I believe I have everything you have mentioned thus far.  Do you have any specifics about the firearm that you will need?  Take a look around and let me know if anything catches your attention.  In fact, as you look about this...er... unique shop, you may come across something else you have not thought of as yet; so if you see anything at all, or think of anything I can add to your wish list please do not hesitate to make me aware of it, I assure you it is no trouble whatsoever.  By the way, I ,for one, cannot wait to see what your pet project may be.

twitch:
Twitch turned to the young man, his antennae twitching with mild amusement and sincerity. "This one thanks you for the query. Without a proper look at what facilities this one has access to and what gear there is within, this one cannot properly give a list of what is needed. He straightened a bit, but still well in the habitual slouch his people stay in. "This one will be pleasured to accompany wherever it is needed. This one strives to be useful."

S'viim beams as the mention of the field scanning equipment upgrade.  Twitch seemed to him quite a methodical being, and his desire to serve was one the B'shah male could identify with well.  He had a feeling he would get along with the new doctor quite well indeed.

"Very well, I have your request noted, and I did hear the shopkeep mention some medical nano-thingamabob which might be of interest to you.  And perhaps some personal shielding might be in order, in case you it were necessary for you to help someone in the midst of battle?  Such things can happen after all.  Let us peruse some of these intriguing things together shall we?"

S'viim noted M'kira's approaching Ms Rayne, and was curious as to what the ultimate outcome of their conversation might be.  He had to admit he was a little excited that such a famous personage would happen to be at the Emporium at the same time as the team.

Melcor considered again for a moment and answered concisely. "I was thinking something ballistic with respectable range and good stopping power, and preferably high ammo capacity. I hate having to reload mid-battle," as he spoke an idea occurred to him suddenly and he corrected himself quickly. "In fact ignore that. I think an energy based weapon and a power backpack, that way I shouldn't have to reload at all! Either would be good, but the energy rifle and power backpack would probably suit me better."

When Elspeth asked for a demonstration the mans face lit up with wicked glee."Firing range is down stairs, grab what tickles yer fancy and head down....If it breaks, melts down, or blows up in your face it's free."

Now about those barriers and that gun, I have something that should fit the bill." He handed S'viim a heavy belt pack fitted with several receptacles for weapons power cells." Proof to most small arms, and fragments, as well as plasma and laser diffusion around thirty to forty percent..power cells drain fast though when it starts taking hits."

He took a second unit from the wall, this one fitted with a heavy voltage cable, inside an armored, articulated sleeve. A bulky rifle about the size of a heavy battle rifle sat next to it." this is the best of both worlds. It fires a slug of energized hypermatter at around mach two it will incinerate matter, or explode on impact so it acts like plasma bolt with superior penetration....mind the recoil though i haven't got the compensater worked out yet. ."

OOC
Basic Shield pack.
Shield Absorbs the first 40 hits taken from projectile, and plasma weapons, and offers 40% reduction in laser weapons.
once total hits absorb equals forty points the shield drops and needs to be recharged for 1d8 rounds
Power pack holds ten weapons cells capable of absorbing 200 hit points worth of damage.
Wearers AC is effectively 10 Plus dex and class bonus to determine if shield is struck.

Charged Rifle:
4d6 Autofire 10 range increment 90ft, Crit 19-20 x4 Ballistic/heat 200 shots in ready magazine can be reloaded as a move action from backpack hopper.which holds 1000 charges of Hyper-matter.
