Re: Western D&D?
In response to msg #7:
It can go that way. Hopefully, by adding the cohesive element of a unifying race/family, for example having the players be the surviving remnants of an orcish tribe, I could keep it from devolving the way of the evil game where everybody sells everybody else upriver, and also have a starting point for a greater story arc. A long and difficult revenge against the perpetrators of the massacre springs immediately to mind.
Let's give it a few days and see if anyone wants to help us do something more traditional, but if I end up being all we get, I should be game.
That'll make three games I'm in, two I very much hope to be in as soon as possible, and two I've offered to run (this one and one over in interest check.) I don't want to get involved in too much to handle, especially if I'm going to be responsible for GMing.
EDIT: One less to play in. For reasons I won't get into, the gentleman running one game has frustrated me greatly, and I don't think it's going to be a good fit. Now is the polite time to drop it, before my character is introduced. On the other hand, I couldn't help myself and put up a second interest check, so we'll see what happens.
