Hello!

I'm not fluent in English, but I have pretty good experience in roleplaying games. So, as you might guess, I'm looking for something to begin with.

It might be a mentor, who's willing to guide me through this gloomy and scary world of English RP by accepting in his game or making some sort of a duet in a game.

It might be a game. Preferably, the one with no complicated rules (I'd rather choose free-form), which also has a simple (or 'average') plot.

I also can try to bear the burden of gamemastering (or, what's more likely, story-writing). Even though I have some difficulties with the language, I have a good fantasy and can use my pinch of creativity if needed.

Preferable Genres:
Fantasy (it would perfectly suit for simple games, though I'm ready for some serious fantasy)
Sci-fi (used to play Star Wars a lot)
Historical (I was inspired by the Crusades and Byzantium recently; also can do something connected with the Victorian age. However, I prefer transforming historical things into original fantasy plots)
Strategy (can be combined with any foregoing genres)
Actually, I'm quite all-rounder in terms of genres so if you're ready to play with me but hesitate wherer your preferences will fit mine, we can always talk it over.

Your list is similar to mine (though in a different order) so I just had to make contact. Historical players in particular are a rarity around here.

You seem to be pretty fluent to me, I've seen English players with less command of the language. What's gloomy and scary about English RP? ;)

I have a medieval strategy game in the pipeline, though it might be twelve months away yet, but right now I can offer you a free form sandbox Regency romance game (Jane Austin-ish) if you're interested?

Believe it or not, but I've already come across your game. It seems neat, but definately it is not my type. I think I'm much more used to adventure and intrigue genres rather than romantic sandboxes.

Sorry for not being much specific, but I'm still kind of embarrassed with amount of... everything here. There're lots of games, lots of different rules, rulebooks (and I played very few games that had rules in my language; most of them were free-form), not to mention language barrier which greatly slows down my exploration of this website. That's why I called English RP gloomy... but in fact I just need some time to get used to everything and then this gloominess will be cleared away.

Ah, I can only imagine the challenge. A different script and alphabet just to start with.

I saw this and wanted to welcome you as a fellow English-speaking Russian. :) That being said, and possibly for the same reason, I actually can see the problems with your English... they mostly come down to a few odd word choices here and there though. That puts you far ahead of most people I know IRL. :P

Hopefully you will find some help here. Sadly I doubt that I can be of much help myself (too many things to do, not enough time...). That being said if you do end up running something, perhaps I would be able to step up and help in some way (maybe as a co-GM, depending on what you are looking for there). Our interests seem compatible.
