New to D&D, Looking for a GM

I just played my first couple of sessions of D&D over the last couple of weeks. I always wanted to play, just never had the people. Sadly, just as we were getting the hang of it our GM had to move.

I've been jonesing to play again ever since and I thought pbp might be the way to go. I've played some pbp freeform rp, but haven't played pbp D&D.

I'm looking for a GM that can take me and anyone else who would like to join on a fresh adventure starting at Lvl 1.

I'm not picky about the actual adventure. As I'm new I would even mind the premade ones in the book.

In reply to GuloGulos (msg # 1):

The exact edition matters somewhat. I run 4th Edition games, if you're interested in those.

What edition books do you have?  3.5?  3.0?  4th?  5th?  Inquiring DMs want to know.  :)

I just bought the Players Handbook to what I believe is the 5th Edition.

New to D&D, Looking for a GM

You are welcome to join one of my two Classic D&D games; I have one where you can be a pirate. You can play solo in this game (on your own with non-player-character [DM-controlled] hirelings) or with other players. We roll on a series of old-school Tables (designed by yours truly) to get your first adventure. And then once we know where you start, it's off to adventure! You can play an actual pirate class, or a swashbuckler class, a thief -- or even a combination of all 3 in 1 (Thief/Pirate/Swashbuckler) -- or you can play the traditional human fighter, or cleric, magic-user (MU), etc. Two special classes have been created: the Divine Druid (casting a selection of clerical spells, MU spells and Druid spells; `white magic' enemy of witches), or the amazing Gnome Jester. The game is open-ended, fun and action-oriented.

In my other game you play one of fewer available classes (more traditional) in a fantasy setting with a twist: chocolate! Yep, everything is made of chocolate. The chocolate rises from subterranean depths of mystery, horror and magic, and has overrun your home town and nearby environs. You must explore the dungeons; find the source. This is classic dungeons & dragons! Your sister went to the dungeon but she died. Currently, we're at dungeon level 1 -- no PC casualties as of yet. But almost every monster has a twist or is brand new making the classic game suitable for experienced and novice D&D players alike, even people new to Dungeons & Dragons. This game has fun, a unique and unusual environment in which to adventure, action and fast-paced: strong on fun and low on realism.
This is the experience of Dungeons and Dragons as it was created and intended, so "Classic" means we are using a revision of the original game rules by TSR: Basic D&D as opposed to Advanced D&D, both of which came before D&D 3rd edition.
If you are interested you can Rmail me on this site. Pick a game and if accepted you can start posting within 48 hours, but daily posting will be required at least one post a day every day.
