Recapturing the Pathfinder Magic

Once upon a time, I saw a recruitment thread for a module called Rise of the Runelords. A party of five was mustered, myself playing a necromancer who became an adventurer to duck an arranged marriage to some rich guy back in Korvosa. The DM had some houserules set up that streamlined and simplified things, the character dynamics were interesting and involved, and the combat encounters were fun. Then, during a hunting trip that took place two days after the festival at the start of the module, the DM's wife popped out a baby IRL, and the game went on a hiatus that it never recovered from.

I would like to adventure in Varisia again, preferably in Sandpoint.

Oh, yeah, this is old enough that I can bump this. And it looks like there's interest from multiple potential players, so the prospective DM wouldn't have too much trouble with recruitment, either. They would just need to run a Pathfinder game that's actually set in the Pathfinder setting. Don't think I haven't noticed the spree of games that advertise as Pathfinder, but are set in the Forgotten Realms when you look at the fine print.

I've been interested in running Rise of the Runelords. I'm not the foremost expert on Pathfinder or Golorian, but then I've thing about the adventure paths is that they build things up. Are you opposed to going through the initial part of the adventure path again? I could throw in some changes to keep it fresh, perhaps.

I am not at all opposed to going through the initial part. It provides a good opportunity for the PCs to get to know one another.

What Ganurath said, the initial part helps everyone get motivated to work together and introduces us to NPC's that help us feel more at home in the plot.

Since the recently announced game filled up in just a couple of hours, there's definitely still a market for Rise of the Runelords GMs. :)

I'm going to bump this, with an addendum that I've always wanted to play the Reign of Winter campaign. :)

I'll be taking applications for my Jade Regent games at link to another game, until Wednesday night. :)

I got about three times as many applications as I have space for players. Paizo adventure paths are always popular. :)

I'd love to take another crack at a pathfinder game.  Only my ability to write a decent background seems to be on vacation.

All right, I am an avid Pathfinder DM. I actually prefer to run rather than play. I have been watching this thread with interest, and am interested in trying to run it for you guys. So rise of the runelords it is. I will have room for about four to five players, but can run more than one game of it. Are you guys interested still?
