Hi everyone. For some time now I've been interested in the abyssal magic (thanks, Tome of Mysteries) and Secret Order of the Gate (thanks, Seers of the Throne). So I'd like to pitch the idea and find a GM for a game where my character would be a member of that order and an abyssal mage. This would allow us to explore two subjects normally barely touched in Mage games due to their antagonistic nature: Seers of the Throne and the Abyss. The Abyss especially, as I feel like for a real of impossible anti-existence the Mage content definitely seems to focus on the leper-outcast-unclean aspect that is indistinguishable from Stygia. Also with the Spirit/Space focus of the Order there's a bunch of other cool stuff to use - weird spirits, lower realms, astral space - all the cool stuff.
Character-wise the idea I have is that of an anti-hero sort. Yes, supernal realms are great. Yes, awakenings are great too. But not everyone is deserving. The world is a garden, and it's full of weeds that shouldn't reach the heaven. Should a murderer really have the supernal power? Is a corrupt cop really deserving of the capital T Truth?
I also think that a slightly experienced (30-40xp) start would be nice, but that's up to GM.

Why 1E. Because it has more content published and because the magic system seems to me to be equally functional in both games. I am however all for 2E XP costs. Linear XP costs are great. I wouldn't be averse to using 2E if we have to, but that would mean having to write our own material.

Why solo. Mostly a personal preference, but also because the concept doesn't exactly lend itself to a group game. Mostly a personal preference though.

About myself. I'm 25, I'm an IT guy, I've played RPGs for about 10 years now. I can reliably post every 2 days, but depending on the timing and the mood can post every day or even multiple times a day.
