Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0.

The game, I begun my roleplaying career 26 years ago. I have the books in pdf (and yes, legally), some with physical duplicates. The problem is, in my current situation in life, I find playing online more easily accessible than playing face to face. Thus, I am looking for a small group (or lacking interested, a solo game) to play with here. If necessary, I could even agree to a revolving chairs style gaming, with either all or just a couple of us taking turn in GMing.

The one catch is, I might wish to play a Netrunner. Most GMs don't allow Netrunners as learning the netrunning system takes a bit of effort.

I am on board if we can get a GM (also the first RPG I ever cut my teeth on).  As to Netrunners, perhaps we can have a 'Runner-esque, 'Runner friendly game.  They don't get enough love, and I can understand why, but maybe someone has an easier way to run that side of things.

An all net runner game would be really fun. Like Hackers.

An all netrunner game would be rather heavy to run, though it would keep the lot of us in the same scenes with one another and thus make it perhaps more simple for the GM. I was thinking either a group of mercs with various specialties (perhaps a solo for security, fixer for contracting, techie for fixing gear, perhaps a nomad for a driver/pilot and a netrunnero run that side of business), or a bunch of friends/acquintances, who end up working for the same goal. Variety, as with all such groups, is the key.

Understood, but every game is like that.  A well-rounded group getting stuff done and gaining rep.  Perhaps we need a game where most everyone has more or less the same Skill Sets, and we have to improvise and adapt.  Plus, I really think it would be so cool to have us all in the Net, doing Net Stuff.  However, I guess it will all be down to what our GM wants to run.

I have a game elsewhere if anyone is interested.  PM for info.  Otherwise I'd be happy to start one here.  Been playing since the original.  I would play in a hearbeat if another GM stepped up.

The nice thing about play by post is that it allows for the netrunning side of things to work independent from the rest of the group. So it could work to have a standard type game with a net runner as a part of it.

But I agree that every CP game is the well rounded group, so something different would be fun too.

This could work like Hackers or Mr Robot, with a group of hackers with an agenda. Hacktivists would work quite well in CP. Another way to do it would be like the Matrix, where there is something happening in the net that's impacting the real world - and we're a group of netrunner freedom fighters who have taken the battle to the net. Maybe we don't even know each other in real life, and only engage online.

Or shoot, we could go Ready Player One with it.

I'm not really one for off-site games, mainly because it takes a while to get used to the site and I find they are never as good as RPoL (a personal preference).  So, if you can run a game here, I'll be first in line to RTJ.

I really like that idea, although battling both in the Net and the real world would make for a better game, IMHO.  As for Ready Plater One?  I haven't seen that yet.

Great book. And very much set in a cyberpunk style world (although that is not the focus of the action).

I have never played the system but I would be up for GMing it. I have a lot of experience with cyberpunk settings but not the Cyberpunk setting. If you get my meaning.

That would be great, but I have to ask: do you at least have the Rule Book, prewarsalad?

Cool!  I hope you enjoy it.  Even as an RPG, I loved every page (well, maybe not the Netrunner stuff), and found it was a really good read.

The Covert Techs in Stormfront would fit oh so well for this, IMHO.

Quite so. I would not mind seeing this come to fruition. However, not much has happened as of late, so...

If we are very patient, I am certain a GM will come along.
