I played a retired Imperial Marine turned mercenary who took a stripped-down G-Carrier as 'repatriation' when a ticket went south, before joining the crew of The Laughing Prince. My uncle played our Vargr arms dealer and legal beagle (pun very much intentional).

I might need some help creating a character for RuneQuest - it's crunchier than my usual tastes, which was part of what made HeroQuest much more interesting to me. Still I'd be willing to try (though we'd need to decide on a rules system.)

(Rulewise I have HeroQuest: Glorantha, Kingdom of Sartar and RuneQuest 6/Mythras.)

RQG is no more crunchy than Mythras, Call Of Cthulhu, or Basic Role Playing when it comes to character creation. There are additional die rolls because of the family history detail, but that's really about it. Still, you started this thread and I'd be just as happy to run HeroQuest.

HeroQuest would be my first call. I've never actually played it so I have to admit I'm not sure how it runs in practice but I like the feel it gives off and it seems like it would be easier to adapt RuneQuest material than vice-versa.

I do realise many more people know RuneQuest though so it would certainly be easier to get players for that and even if I find it a bit intimidating I certainly don't dislike the system. The one caveat there is that I only have RuneQuest 6  (ie. Mythras.)

OMG, a game set in Glorantha would be so incredible. There are some here, but the one that I RTJ was too fast for me.
If you intend to run with 1post/day I could manage.
Also have quite a heap of material though it's been a long time since I delved in that realm.
I'd be fine with any time and any system nur agree that RQ6/Mythras combat would likely kill everybody"s attention span.

Maybe if Alyse doesn't see this, we could try a fairly simple scenario, to better understand how to run a game? Or possibly a premade one? I have a few ideas on that front.

Sorry, been recuperating from a summer cold. Also reading the new RuneQuest more closely. Pretty sure everyone would need their own copy of the rules, just to get through character creation without excessive copypasta on my part.

For RQ character creation, fully legal copies of the Quickstart should be freely available, no?

The quickstart doesn't allow one to create characters, it just summarizes the results of the process.

I have a copy of a Google doc someone made that automates most of the number crunching for character creation. I can send it to whoever is going to GM

It does sound like overall, everyone interested is more familiar with Heroquest than Runequest. It would also require a lot less rolling and bookkeeping on everyone's part

Some folks like as not bowed out when the talk turned to HeroQuest rather than the new RuneQuest. Everyone still on-board if the game is rated Adult?

Quick question for everyone: Are any of you fans of the original Gloranthan computer game King Of Dragon Pass and its recent spiritual successor Six Ages?

KDoP is how I got into Glorantha! It's one of my favorite games.
I would love to play Six Ages, but I don't have an iOS device :/

I know and like KoDP but not the latter game sorry!
