Lately I've been getting more and more into the Star Wars franchise. I've always been aware of the films of course. And I've seen all bar Episode 8. I was also aware of the comics but have never read any of them. I've gathered a basic knowledge of the Star Wars Extended Universe recently and what I've found is that the Star Wars films barely scratch the surface of a detailed, expansive universe full of awesome unique Jedi and more than just your basic lightsabers.

What I'm looking for is someone with a greater knowledge of the Star Wars EU than my own, as well as some GM'ing knowledge given that mine is... Limited. So that we may construct a Star Wars game together.

What Genre, setting, atmos, fell did you have in mind?

Well generally the Star Wars Extended Universe would be a sort of basis for a setting. Like many fans I consider the EU to be the true Canon, given that Disney effectively ruined the Star Wars universe I generally don't consider their movies to exist in the Star Wars Universe. The version of Luke Skywalker that started the New Jedi Order is my Luke.

I'd be looking to create a dark universe full of many powerful and unique Jedi Knights and Sith Lords. I have got much planned out. Wanted to see if I could find a sort of... Partner in crime first.

Sounds cool, would this be after Luke's new jedi order or would go old republic? I loved the Knights of the old republic games, after in played those I read up on the history, especially of the sith, rule of two, all the darths. Good stuffm either way I'd be willing to help out with this or be part of the game! I have not read a lot of the EU books but I have played quite a few games including Kotr, force unleashed and some old computer ones.i have read some of the comics, including the newest Darth Vader comic when I can. Also I have read some of the newer stories which are quite good, about the rise of Vader and leading up to the battle of jakku

It'd be set in a sort of... AU. One of our own design. Taking inspiration, characters, ideas from the Extended Universe. Ie, the new galactic empire would exist, the new Jedi Order would exist, but Luke Skywalker would not be the Jedi grandmaster. Whoever is interested in being a Co-GM I'd appreciate an rmail so planning can begin!

What system were you planning on using? (FFG, d20, WEG)

I only know WEG, but I know a lot about it.

This sounds interesting, and I'd be interested in running something along these lines, however I have two caveats.

1.) I know VERY little about the EU. Like many casual Star Wars fans, I've seen all the movies, and played many of the games including KotoR, KotoR 2, Battlefront, The Force unleashed (1 and 2). So if I were to run something I would absolutely need someone who could be my... encyclopedia to the EU.

2.) Secondly, I would like to consider running this in Fate Accelerated. For those of you not familiar, FAE is a rules lite system designed to be usable for virtually ANY genre. It's pretty easy to pick up and I've taught it to numerous new players over the last couple of years. If this is not an option, then I would prefer to run the game Free-form. Over the years these are the only two systems I've found that I feel can run a Star Wars game properly.

If these two things haven't caused you to run screaming for the hills, please let me know.

Interestingly, the WEG d6 RPG material was considered key source material for a lot of the EU authors.  Getting ahold of some of those books will give you a lot of the underpinnings and architecture that the EU fiction was built on.

So...which part of the EU are you looking to represent?  Novels? Comics? Video Games? All of them? One particular storyline of one of those?  (There can be a bit of conflict between individual stories, of course, but I imagine that an AU situation can easily resolve those, as long as you're willing to be flexible.)

Also, what era are you looking for?  Old Republic? Clone Wars? Rebellion? Zahn-Era New Republic? Yuuzhan Vong Era? Later?

(Your comment about New Jedi Order suggests post-rebellion novels, but I will admit that the farther after the Rebellion era, the less familiar I am with the storyline of the EU.  Much after the Yuuzhan Vong and my knowledge is sketchy at best.  Your comment about lots of sith lords and dark jedi suggests Old Republic era may fit your story concept better than post-Rebellion, which is fine with me but may not be with you.)

Also, if it applies, are you open to including at least some of the more interesting Disney inclusions into the storyline?  Either as character-background easter eggs (if the players are interested in that) or as parts of the actual story?  Things like the Phoenix Squad from the Rebels show (or Thrawn participating in fighting the Rebellion, also from that same show.)  Or planets featured only in the Clone Wars show?  Or, if you want Old Republic era, lore from the MMO?
