In reply to Caleb Mulcahy (msg #957):

Awesome movie.

Also, we're still missing a few player's posts. I am not sure if people are just busy/away or is there something else. I don't want to leave it any longer though, so I'll probably do up the turn tonight.

Beaten only by either the Scots, the Irish, or the Australians...

I was including the Scots and the Irish as "Brits".

Well, the Northern Irish rather than the Southern Irish anyway.  The Southern Irish don't get violent when they're drunk!

And the Australians are just Brits with criminal records! <G>

Begbie is a scary character!

Fuse - can Mitch respond to Jed's request for a SITREP this turn (it will be a short response for the moment) or does he need to wait until next.

Additionally please can you clarify what gear Rooke is now carrying on Jed's instructions?  I think that it is a loaded RPG-16 and 3 spare rockets in a sack with some mines.  Is that right?  If so then what mines are they so that I can work out his revised load stat.

Also does the RPG-16 have a sling on it or does it have to be carried by hand?

Thanks.

In reply to Robert Mitchell (msg #960):

Yes, a response is fine.

1x RPG-16 w/sling + 3 reloads (in a sandbag)
6x POMZ-2 AP mines (in a sandbag)

I'm doing some equipment double checking for a few things and I can't see the LAW80 being issued but its no longer in the stores. Nobody has it do they?

Thanks - I'll work that out and have a look on Paul's site for the weight of a POMZ-2 AP mine.

Oskar had it when we last engaged a tank but I don't know what happened to it after that.  He was going to fire it but was ordered by Jagelis to use an M72 instead.

That's right.

Also, fellas... I'm noticing some discrepancies between combat tags and what is in your PC's inventory. In order to keep things consistent, I need you to either keep your sheets up to date or let me know so I can do it for you. I don't mind keeping track for anyone who can't or doesn't have the time to - and would rather have that than have inaccurate ammo counts or duplicated/missing weapons and equipment.

Ok, I gave some amounts that based on what I remember with the HQ group and tried to match it with what JJM fired. Hope it's ok with you.

So in addition to the PPSH41, he still has his M16 correct? You know how much ammo is in that right?

No he has somebody else's M16 with another mystery mag, he has checked there's a round in the chamber to fire his rifle grenade though.

I don't believe that M16 was ever fired.  It belonged to one of the militiamen who died at the wall and was given to JJM by Rooke.  The full list of names has gone but it was Tomasz who ran I believe and the other one (who scouted around with Frank and Zajac) who died so it's his rifle - they were numbers 5 and 8 on the original list.  I would imagine that it has a full mag in it as the militiaman had time to reload a full mag before the battle.

This sounds like I'm permanently away on holiday but I'm away from 15th to 21st April and I don't expect to have any internet access over that period.  Please NPC Mitch and Rooke as necessary and I'll catch up when I get back.

Thanks.

Re: OOC Thread 6

Yeah hi, I think this might have gotten lost in a post, but I just want to double check that Mike's M16 still has 9001 HE rounds* loaded.  You don't need to look through the threads, I definitely remember you saying it.  Just need you to sign right here....................

*Funny story from Fire Team live fire this summer.  The enlisted guys help train us had some C4 lying around from the nearby engineering site.  They carefully hide it in a tree behind a target that pops up as you move through the lane, and always gets shot.  So a team is going through (different platoon, same Co though) and of course it's one of the most jacked up guys in the Company who gets the lane.  He pulls the trigger on the target and the engineers blow it and freak him out.  The Lane walker who's in on it runs up to him "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO? WHO THE HELL GAVE YOU HE BULLETS!?" The guy knew absolutely nothing about his M4 and starts sputtering and freaking out too.  Those of us who had an idea of what happened were dying of laughter while this guy is practically in tears from being yelled at by a Sgt. who couldn't even keep a straight face.

Re: OOC Thread 6

In reply to Mike Catchings (msg #974):

I had the privilege about 17 years ago (when the defence budget was really tight) to take part in a live fire company attack with Assault Pioneer and mortar support.

First the mortars plastered the hill (where the pioneers had been busy digging pits and prepping fire positions for a couple of days), then the pioneers blew the wire with Bangalore torpedo's before the company moved forward with a frontage about 400 metres wide. I was positioned on the far left flank with my M60 so got a really good impression of just how much firepower was going downrange.

It was AMAZING!

The mortars even managed two direct hits on fighting pits leaving nothing but craters - you REALLY wouldn't have wanted to be in there at the time!

Up until they moved the Armor training center to Benning, they would bus all of the rising Sophomores here out to Knox to spend the week learning Armor.  Last class to get it was 2 years ago, so I missed it.  But from what I'm told, you had a cadet gunner, a cadet TC, a regular army driver (safety reasons) and an enlisted guy in your tank to help you out per each tank, but it was a solid week straight of Cadet Tank force on force action, plus some live rounds at the range.

As ar as I know, his sheet is what he's got - ie he handed over only the rpg and rounds and kept the mines (only because nobody took them from him).

If the mines were taken by somebody else, I'm happy to loose the weight! :D

Re: OOC Thread 6

The weight of the mines doesn't matter either way to him - he's overloaded anyway.
Once he burns through a few mags and throws a few grenades it may be worth him ditching them (or preferably using them to blow the crap out of some Russians).
