Ferro:
So

Hide and wait x1
Room to room search
Grab and leave

Anyone have anything else? I'm leaning to 3rd even though taking out Eikki would be nice.

I'm fine with grab and leave. If we have someone with the skill maybe we can leave a booby trap of our own when we leave.

We also know that he has accomplices that work with him.  Maybe ask some of the neighbors or guards from the (possible) descriptions from the prisoner with a lot less jaw left after the shoot out.

FYI any check for traps is two levels more difficult in the dark.

...Just a reminder that it's night and the residence has no lighting.

I think we leave with someone waiting behind and come back when it is light for a thorough check of the flat.

Re: OOC Thread - 14

This is what I'm thinking:

1) Team 1 secure the top floor
2) Team 2 secure outside

JJ contacts the IB. If they are being surveilled then they need to know ASAP.

We ask them to come and help with the search and include whatever militia feels they have jurisdiction here.

We'll have to hand over our prisoner as this could be bigger than us. Also, it'll help our relations with the IB.

What do people think?

I'm in,  This may be bigger than us as you stated.  That's why I suggested the IB as an option.

Yes, what you said predicated some of this. Whilst it was still personal with Ekki, I think we could argue that it was OK for us to follow up. Now we can see potential risk to the IB I think we should cut them in immediately. It may deny us revenge but it might also give us another leg up in our reputation.

Leg up, how ironic...

Re: OOC Thread - 14

When you say Team 1 secure the top floor, do you mean try and secure the exits so that if the Finn is still there we've got him cornered until reinforcements arrive?

If so, sounds OK to me.

If you mean go the three of us going door to door securing the entire floor I'm less keen.

Re: OOC Thread - 14

Yes, the first option.

We secure exits.

We call the IB and let them know what's going on and if they want to go door to door we'll help them. Having a company of IB around is likely to quell any locals thoughts of resisting search.

Re: OOC Thread - 14

Without resorting to some action movie trope, like leaping from rooftop to rooftop, or dying in a glorious hail of bullets, I couldn't see it ending differently. Apologies if it let anyone down. I just felt it was the most realistic conclusion and one that kept with Eikki's character.

Had you not called for backup things would have been messier, but perhaps with PC casualties as well. He would have been aware of Varis staying behind for example.

Re: OOC Thread - 14

No, that's fine, the IB can deal with Ekki.

As for other things:

1) Sharing loot with militia:
I want to propose to them that after we've swept for IEDs etc that we gather stuff together, the Mad Dogs will have first choice and the militia gets what's left. If we're taking so much that the left overs are pathetic, we'll add stuff from stores. In fact, the militia may prefer the whole value of their share from our stores as we can better tailor it to what they need. Apart from the explosives, I'm inclined to offer them about half the value of what's left.

What do people think?

2) Our prisoner

The one in the rowing club. We should turn him over to the IB too.

Is that OK?

Re: OOC Thread - 14

Now that we’ve got EIkki in custody Walsh would suggest taking him back into the apartment and getting him to ‘help’ with the IED clearance by opening up all the drawers and cupboards and stuff for us. Thus having to defuse any booby traps in the process. After all, he’s turned out not to be a fight to the death type so he probably won’t want to blow himself up either.

Sounds fine to me.

If we're conducting the search and find any intel is that going to us initially or to the IB initially?  I'd suggest that we take it, look at it briefly and then go and see Woermann to share it with him.

That makes sense as well.

This sounds like a good idea.  He needs to be secured, just in case he sees an opportunity to grab a weapon or escape.

The problem with that is that I envisage defusing any IED’s that he has set as literally being a bit of a ‘hands on’ job. Even if his hands are tied in front of him he might not be able to defuse things properly. Sure, he can point them out, but then someone else would have to defuse them and there’s as much risk of an IED going off in someone else’s face as there is Eikki trying to grab a gun.

I agree that using Eikki would be useful but we don't even know if we have him to do that. The IB are "keen to leave".

If we do get him I don't think he needs to be secured in the apartment. It's not like he's going anywhere. Free hands would be far more valuable.

This is true. We'd have to ask nicely. :)

To be fair, if there is intel in the apartment it's probably in the IB's interests for it to be retrieved and Eikki's 'assistance' may make said retrieval easier. So long term it could benefit them. On the other hand, if he gets blown up they can't question him. Hopefully he'll be careful...

Not too late to pour gasoline on him, hang him out the window by a cable and burn him alive for all of Gdansk to see.  Spelling out KGB on the lawn with flaming gas would be kewl as well.

Eikki was being treated by a Danish medic. As long as said Danish medic is dressed as such, Per would recognize him as a countryman. Any chance of Per using shared nationality to secure a few minutes alone with the prisoner? If so, I'll write an IC post setting that up. If there's no chance, I won't bother.
