Ok we have command decisions made so I'd like to be able to get the next turn up for tomorrow.

Looking forward to it.

Sorry, to be clear, are we waiting for confirmation on whether we’ll be resting before heading out on patrol?

Re: OOC Thread - 18

Some players haven't posted IC for days, let alone the current turn.

And while we have a plan in place I'm pretty much guessing what a lot of players are actually doing at an individual level.

So for those two reasons I'm kind of not prepared to go ahead with the turn.

Re: OOC Thread - 18

I have a question that Jan would know the answer to but which I don't. At night time in snowy conditions is it best to wear overwhites or not? Does it depend on the moon and cloud cover, i.e. just how dark it really is?

Essentially should those going on the patrol be wearing overwhites?

Ta,

Andy.

With overwhites I think that everyone going on the patrol has a set except for Krysia. Is there anyone not going on the patrol with a set who can lend them to her?

The OP should be brought in, or relieved, especially since its current occupants are going to be running a recon patrol soon.

In reply to Per Kolstrup (msg # 940):

Sounds like Walsh and Fischer are coming to take over for us. Our next posts should probably be us returning to base upon seeing our relief, listening to the updated plan, and then any actions we take prior to the patrol heading out. That's my thinking at least?

Re: OOC Thread - 18

Yep, the OP was relieved by Fischer and Walsh in msg 628. The idea was to let Kolstrup and Rodriguez take part in the briefing.

Re overwhites for Krysia, she can have Walsh’s if needed.

Re: OOC Thread - 18

Turn is up. Couple points.

Please don't use google maps or whatever to plan out your next moves. Your characters don't have access to that information so the players shouldn't either. Also, to help reflect that limitation, I may be using photoshop to alter Katy a little so what you see in google maps may not be seen in the game. I've shaded out what you don't know.

I assumed you weren't going to try to get through the abatis. It's no impregnable, but getting through would be difficult and probably impossible to do without making some noise. Furthermore, if in the odd chance it is mined/wired (not saying it is) you would have no real way of detecting said threats. However, you are still free to try during this next turn if that's what you want to do.

Re: OOC Thread - 18

@All, as I don’t think this was clarified IC or OOC the intent was to use the Humvees to get the recce patrol closer to their objective. They (the Humvees) together with their drivers (Voight and Andropov) would then be returning to camp. Apologies that wasn’t clarified earlier.

At least I get out of camp for a little bit...

Can Kessler, Kolstrup, and/or Jose (only three PCs that are moving) provide more detail on your intentions. Basically, exactly, where you want to go and which way are you going to get there. Thanks.

I’m presuming our current location is the end of the blue line, yeah? (Sorry, am posting exclusively from a phone this week which is quite challenging, especially with visuals)

Yeah, blue X.

Would it help if I resized the pic? Or would that not matter?

I feel like we should wait for input from the other members of the recce team, but here's a preliminary route.

If X marks our current position, I'd like to pull back (north) a bit, then cut west until we're northwest of the house (C). Then, creep south, crossing the road if it appears unwatched in that area, until we're roughly west of the house (putting it between us and the campfires to the east).

Dave, how does that sound to you?

Everyone else? Refinements, suggestions, objections?

@Rae, sounds good to me!

@Fuse, lol I didn’t even see that x! Don’t worry about resizing - Rae’s got it covered. Just to clarify though, Kessler’s intent was that Rodriguez and Krysia also move towards the house.

Fuse,

This may be a dumb question but is the ground north of point B higher ground? It looks like the road has been cut into a cliff or something (presuming that the grey to the right of B and north of the road is some kind of terrain feature) and the route we took was fairly close to the road.

Or am I misreading the map image?

As I've just posted IC, is it weird that there are no sentries?

Does that mean that they're just badly organised and haven't bothered?

Or does it mean that their sentries are just well hidden and we haven't spotted them?

Or does it mean that they know where here and have set up an ambush?

Or am I reading too much into this?

What do people think?

Andy

I believe the grey section outlined next to the road was described as the abatis, not necessarily a cliff or higher ground.

As for the sentries question, no idea what it means. It could be that we didn’t see any, it could be that abuse didn’t list them, it could mean just about anything, including that maybe the camp isn’t WA after all. We’ll have to check the house in any case, and if it does turn out to be an ambush, we’ll just have to fight our way out using our superior weaponry and tactics.
