OOC Thread - 18

Corkman,

Sorry to be a pain but please can you do me a favour. When you're replying to other people's posts and need to reference the post in general rather than a specific part of their post, please can you use the "Reply" option rather than the "Quote" option. For example in your last IC post you've quoted most of Kessler's previous IC post and when I try to read it on my phone it gets confusing as to what is actually said by Hank - it looks like Hank is just repeating a load of stuff that has already been said.

Personally I think that the Quote option is best used when you're picking out a specific element of someone else's post.

Hope that's ok with you. It will really help me to follow the IC threads.

Ta mate,

Andy

Is it safe to assume that destroying WA is our next goal? Or are we still considering the other options? I'm not sure what we're doing (in that sense).

In reply to Ferro (msg # 7):

I'm torn between  an op against Warmia and trying to find out what happened to Nowak and the sub - I don't think we ever reached a final decision.

Taking on Warmia is appealing both IC and OOC but trying to solve the mystery of what's happened to Nowak is probably more important strategically.

Oh, and thanks - I think I've been waiting for around three years for someone to mention Friedmann!

So, when Jose asked about intel groups in Gdansk, I thought about mentioning Vincent Wright. He's no longer around, but he was working for the DIA, IIRC. Is that right? Per and Ferro both merc'ed for him for a spell. There are a couple of other mercs who did still in town.

I think that this occurred prior to Kessler etc joining.

I think that the only PCs who know about Vincent Wright are:

JJM
Ferro
Per
Billy
Varis

And possibly Tosh. Fuse - please can you remind me. I was playing Ortega at that point but Tosh was recruited during a mission for Wright.

Not a problem!

When I was playing Frank, Oskar was his role model when he first joined up.

Re: OOC Thread - 18

Yes, Lines would know of him but not very much.

Tosh was recruited in Silesia while the unit was on Wright's mission and then then there for when the Black Madonna was handed over.

But he has very little knowledge of him.

Also, none of the names dropped by Kessler were familiar to anyone here.

That’s correct - neither Kessler nor Walsh know anything about Wright so it will be news to both of them.

I just riffed of this...

Oskar Friedmann:
"My command?  I was embedded with the 3rd German to assist in UW actions to soften up the Poles in preparation for their advance.  The Third's still east a few hundred klicks trying to fight madmen for scraps and getting picked apart by irregulars and partisans.  The last US transmission I ever got was that I was to see to my own well-being... when the Hauptmann got shot to pieces while trying to trade grenades for whores for the troops I just figured it was time to head west and try to make it somewhere saner."

Oh hell, yeah. It's all the way back to chapter 2. I think it's the first meeting with Damien the pimp. Fuse and I had already worked out (literally years ago) that Kessler and Friedmann know each other from before the in game start date and I just riffed off the fact that a German Hauptmann is mentioned getting shot to flesh it out a bit.

If I'm not mistaken, JJM and Varis are the longest-running PCs currently in the campaign. That makes Varis, by seniority, overall second-in-command of the Mad Dogs.

Salute your new XO.

Re: OOC Thread - 18

Have been trying to slowly read the back chapters (on chapter 4 now). My jaw dropped when Oskar shot Jan (the Hind pilot). Seemed like he was a really interesting character.
