Fusilier:
Ok I know I said that was going to be the last post for the chapter, but I'm going to add a small addition with the group together, alone, at the compound, following the resupply. So there will be beer and a chance to post any commentary or reflection. The vibe I'm trying to get on my end (your PC is free to be different of course) is low key, anticlimactic, and even with beer and such it won't be a celebration. This victory might not even feel like one to some. The city was killing each other. The group is burned out and you've lost people. I'd like to give the players a chance to express that.

I doubt very much if I'll be able to post before Wednesday / Thursday next week so if you all want to go ahead and post before then maybe just assume that Kessler is in a meeting somewhere, maybe with Fischer and Schleicher, and I'll catch up with you when I'm back.

ETA. I hate strongly dislike this new format.

Sorry, I've been pretty sick the last couple of days

I've started drafting posts, but just looking at a keyboard is giving me headaches just now - I'll try and finish them tomorrow.

Michael Kessler:
I’m not sure how much downtime Kessler will actually get what with one thing and another, but presuming there’s some...<snip>

Gonna add one thing to this list, for the next game day.

We should have a town hall meeting for everyone that's part of our 'community', so the Mad Dogs, Kaminski's crew, the Marians, the school tenants, former Stasi operatives, basically anyone that's currently in the compound where we (Kessler?) can bring everyone up to speed on the current geo political conditions in Gdansk and (try to) answer any questions / address any concerns that people may have. 'Cos, you know, people are bound to have concerns...

Happy to do it off camera.

Hi all.  I realize I forgot to mention I’ll be at another VA State Park until the 12th with no connectivity.  I’ll post and catch up when I get back to civilization.

Sorry about the long wait. I was ready to go the other day but something came up. I'm in the need of a new laptop unfortunatly.

Anyway, looking forward to taking things onward. I cut the turn short without giving much, in case you want to follow up on other things first. There are a few outstanding issues I never covered in the prior turn's summary (Kessler had a list for example). I've got something coming, but wanted to hand things off to the players for a moment.

In reply to Fusilier (msg # 224):

Personally I'd prefer to close off what we have outstanding before moving on to other things - some of this stuff has been pending for years in real time now. in particular whether we have any new / useful intel that no one else is aware of, either from MU sources or dead East Germans, what progress - if any - has been made with Scheicher (is she friendly, hostile, neutral?), and what happened to that art work.

Re: OOC Thread - 23

I still have some intel stuff coming. Tomorrow I'll try to get it up for you.

Schleicher has been behaving the entire time. There's been no attempt to escape or anything like that, and she's helped the medics when they were here, plus some cleaning chores. Kat won't let her in the kitchen though so the hasn't been able to help with that. Schleicher isn't talkative much, or opened up to anyone, and she just goes about the compound like anyone else... sort of. At least in the daytime. Her wound has also healed.

I need to do some reviewing of past chapters about the art.

Thanks. How about the civies? Don’t need anything detailed, just what’s their mood / morale like? Good / bad / indifferent? Did we get anywhere setting up a clinic?

Re: OOC Thread - 23

The school civies never went back to the school (yet). So they're still crowded in the common room (rec room). They're packed in there, sleeping on the floor mostly. They're morale is pretty good though. They help out with the generator (as before) but some of them pitch in with security and odd jobs around the compound (Grzegorz & Gustek especially). Occasionally two or three of them will try fishing in the river, usually not successful. Those that are employed (in town or whatever) come and go each day, so they often run errands for people who stay at the compound.

Artur Deyna, the stranded taxi driver, is still hanging around. He's been trying to source parts and skilled hands to get his taxi working again. Your and Kaminski's vehicles had priority though, and then there was the big snowstorm, and other things like that which got in the way. So he's still around.

Kaminski's civies are doing as well as they were before the attack.

A clinic was run, yes. The pregnant one is doing fine. No real issues were noticed by Ward, nothing serious anyway.

Re: OOC Thread - 23

I remember working with a Polish lady years ago.  She found our pronunciation of Wroclaw (Rock-Law) absolutely hilarious.

In other matters, I will have to come back to this later as I'm getting chased for dinner, however, I'm not sure how up to date stores listings is but if it's correct we are chronically short of all forms of hand grenades.

Therefore, Kessler will be asking Olympic for a resupply of

Frag grenades
Smoke grenades
Non lethal grenades )concussion and / or CS gas)

I think we're also running low on some ammo types although I could be mistaken as I frequently forget which 7.62 suffix goes with which weapon, especially for the Sov stuff (at least the western stuff tends to always be 7.62 N...) So, resupply request will also include

7.62mm L for (I think) the PKM.
Some rockets for the RPG (not sure if we still have 2 of them or one got toasted in Lobo?)
Some rockets for the SM-2 Koncerz

And some ethanol.

Finally - for the moment - Fuse, can you confirm that the BTR and the Alpha Humvee are both fully operational? (By fully, I mean do their weapons systems work as well?)

If anything else has anything they think we will need please say so here so we can ask BND nicely for it.

The Krok and Alpha are in good repair (but not good condition, if you know what I mean). They're functional, mobile, and with working weapons. So too is the Iltis. Reminder, Alpha is not up-armored like Lobo was - it's just a truck.

Bumping this for the supply issue.

I hope nobody minds that I pushed things forward to a point where everyone could have a say - I was presuming that anyone that had anything for Olympic would have posted it by now.

Also, just to let you know that I will be away for two weeks starting this weekend. I wont have a huge amount of free time to post so it would be greatly appreciated if everyone can pitch in and help OOC when it comes to planning this mission.

Re: OOC Thread - 23

In terms of supplies - From where I'm sitting it looks like the largest gaps are in the following areas:

  1. Explosives - RPG rockets. Grenades of any and all kinds including smoke, AT, and flashbangs. Underbarrel-launched grenades. Other heavy weapons and/or demolition equipment. If we run into any armor we'll be in trouble pretty quickly.
  2. Medicine - We seem to be bone dry on any kind of medicine or medkits in stores. Unsure of what Ward might have on him, but it probably isn't enough. [edit: I managed to forget what was said last month about medical supplies and what Ward has on him, but I still figure it might be worth bringing up so I'll leave this bullet here for now.]
  3. Electronics - Night Vision and radios have historically presented us with issues, but it looks like most of the PCs are fully kitted up here now? It might be a good idea to get some additional batteries though if there are any to be had - we've had a lot of instances where our radios and NVGs run out of batteries while out on missions - it would be great to have some spares we could use to swap out in the field without needing to wait for charging.

Hey - I have two tourniquets and tourniquets are very versatile!

Arm wound - put a tourniquet on the upper arm!  Ta da, bleeding stops!

Leg wound - put a tourniquet on the upper leg!  Fixed!

Head wound - once I put a tourniquet on your neck, all your problems are over!

Re: OOC Thread - 23

OK, so it looks like we're asking BND for the following

Medical supplies
Frag grenades
Smoke grenades
Non lethal grenades
40mm grenades (NATO and Soviet, lethal and non lethal)
RPG rockets
SM2 Koncerz Rockets
Any other anti armour weaponry they can lay their hands on (LAW's, RPG 18's, Carl Gustav rounds, etc)
Explosives (note we have a demo kit in the cast list. Also, does any character actually have combat engineer skill?)
Medical supplies
Spare batteries
NVG's - I don't know if everyone has a set of these, I know Corkman has referenced his character not having them in the past but I don't know if that's resolved now that he's playing Lines
Medical supplies
Small arms ammunition, all Pact calibres and magazines (especially a few more 100 rnd drums for the RPD)
1 x G11 Assault rifle with magazines and ammo (special request for Kessler, I saw one at the German Army Museum the other month and it looked way cooler than I expected it to. And if anyone is going to have a stash of these it should be German Intelligence)
Any suppressed weapons that they can lay their hands on (particularly a sniper rifle but also any MP5's or similar in case we need to go sneaking about) with magazines and ammo
14.5mm ammo for the Krok
1 x Jan Czerny (OK, technically that's not under BND's remit but I figure we can get him back from Waterloo now)
Medical supplies
Ethanol
M41 Pulse Rifles

When it comes to quantities, we'll take as much as we can get.

I'm out of time for now - will try and post IC as Kessler later tonight to cover the IC points but can't promise.- if not today will be tomorrow.

Technically everyone already has spare batteries. The way I work batteries is its a single charge value regardless of the number of batteries you carry. This is so I don't have to micromanage dozens and dozens of batteries. So if you get new batteries (in addition to what you have) I just increase the current charge value's max base. Also, after each two days of use (2 recharges or so) I remove 1 point of from the base charge value to represent rechargeable batteries going bad plus non-rechargeable being tossed out.

But point taken - you need batteries.

Yes, it's fixed, but with a reduced cable length.

I've just updated the BTR-80 stats post. There are still some minor issues but nothing to worry about I don't think.

Note, it's repaired but no preventative maintenance has been done for the week.

I'll do Alpha Humvee soon.
