The world is sparsely populated.  Adding all the major species together won't give you more than 300,000,000 total.  Add in the few fey like Centaur, Fairy-kin, and the like and you might get one or two million more.  Only two continents have been generally mapped with five more guessed out or scryed by wizard magic.  Most of the world is dominated by wild creatures of varying hostilities and usefulness.  Technology is somewhat available thanks in large part due to the Kradok.  Gunpowder simply does not work in this highly magical universe (the gods know what it will lead to so refuse to allow the chemical properties to work right).  But wizard-based technology is becoming widespread.  For instance, boats that run on principles similar to steam engines, but require spells instead of chemistry to operate.  The Invar have also learned some of the secrets of flight, but use personal gliders and magic to float around lazily in the sky.  It is little more than recreational.

Right now the world is at peace and most adventuring is relegated to exploration and confronting the occasional rampaging wild beast.  Abominations, giants, dragons, elementals, and other fantastic creatures are not known in this world, though some have begun to infer the existence of dragons from recent exploration and research on a third continent close by the two inhabited ones.  There is also no concept of undead or demons...
