Re: Redemption

"Thank you, Shelly," Raymond answers.

He scans the office for a flier or a form, snatches a pen, and writes in the margin.  He then hands it over to Emerald.

OOC: He's of course working on the idea that the badguy's lair has yet to be discovered because he hasn't been told otherwise IC.

Re: Redemption

Raichel hrmpfs and gets off the guy. "Better not try to run. Now talk."

The attractive young pokemorph gets off the guy. Who calmly pauses a moment, examining himself. Then says, "I will not tell you *anything*, fools!"

Raichel sighs. "....why?"

The CoT guy says, "Because I only share vital information with members of the Circle of Thorns. And because you beat me up. Good enough reasons?"

The tear gas grenade only spreads so far anyway. Antoinette is indeed crying. And when given a ghost slaying axe, she swings at random, eyes still squinted closed, while crying. This means she hits ghosts and CoT members with it. Not on purpose, but she WAS given an axe and she's confused. When her daddy gave her an axe, it was so she could chop up wood. This is made more evident by the fact she is chopping in an up and down motion rather than sideways.

Re: Redemption

Emerald simply nods, looking up at Raymond.

Shelly returns and says, "Got you a meeting with the mayor in about 2 hours. I've got a break coming up... if you guys don't mind taking a break yourselves for some food, maybe I can kill some of that time with you over lunch?"

OOC: Quite alright. The PLAYERS know the badguy's hideout has been discovered, but even Bamzor can't be 100% sure he's discovered the badguy's place since, you know, while Antoinette is 100% accurate, the badguy could have booked it.

Re: Redemption

"Thanks, Shelly," Raymond answers, "And thanks for the offer.  I was just about to suggest that these guys could take me to the boss so I could arrange a meeting between him and the banker who'll be paying him.  But if you're offering lunch maybe they'd rather just give me directions?"  He gets the pen ready to write down the directions.

"Not really, I mean you were trying to blow up load bearing structures.  You can't honestly expect that you'd be ignored and any of the 18 dozen heroes that pass through this area regularly would just let you do it."  Alloy shrugs, "I guess we just hand em over to the police at this point and move on."
Hey now, vertical slashes are among the most powerful of attacks when it comes to entering battle with a GIANT BATTLE AXE!!!  Antoinette did just fine.

"You're doing fine Kid, keep it up."  That said, Bamzor decided to act with a bit more haste and sped up his Standard Smashing Process of faces.

Re: Redemption

The Hellions look at Raymond like "huh?" and the lead Hellion says, "What? We don't know where the guy is..."

Shelly says, "And I don't know the details either. You'll just have to wait for the appointment... I'm sorry." she gives an apologetic expression to Raymond.

Emerald blows upward on her hair. "Let's go have lunch then. We can discuss other methods to deal with this situation in the meantime..."

Raymond eye-twitches at the uselessness of the Hellion, but he consoles himself with knowing that at least it looks like his ploy would have worked.  He nods to the two little ladies and follows their lead.  "I wonder how the others are doing."

Re: Redemption

Speaking of the others, Raichel nods in agreement and helps Alloy take the prisoners back to the nearest precinct. "You did great, by the way. Not sure if I say enough how much butt you kick, but I'm sayin' it now while I'm thinking to." she proceeds to list some things Alloy and Melty did. Shining moments. The prisoners look VERY annoyed. "Cut it out! You both STINK!"

Raichel says, "....well that wasn't a very nice thing to say. Didn't your mom teach you if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?"

"....BWAAAAA!" Yes, that never gets old for the narrator.

Meanwhile, Bamzor and Antoinette make it to the back of the cave where a monitor sits. On it is the face that appeared on the other monitor. "Ha! Well, heroes, I'm VERY impressed you found me, but your efforts are wasted. When I learned of your arrival, I escaped and left this monitor here to mock you. Neener, neener, neeeenerrrr!"

Antoinette points at the monitor. "That's him."

The monitor says, "Pfff... cute kid. You bring KIDS to do your work these days?"

Re: Redemption

Emerald says, "I'll check in." she gets on her Redemption Com. "Hi, Redemption. This is Emerald. Mind if I get a status update?"

Angel can be heard on the com. "Well I was on the way to talk with the mayor when he got kidnapped. So I'm kinda trying to rescue the mayor. I've found some really capable heroes to join Lucky and I, so we'll be alright."

Raichel and Alloy would hear what Emmy asked and what Angel said, though after Alloy has had a chance to answer Raichel and/or the prisoners.

Similar with Bamzor and Antoinette. Who is STILL pointing at the monitor.

Re: Redemption

Melty has no sulfur involved, thank you very much.  "Thanks, fortunately while half my stuff isn't as showy as others, I know I'm Helping.  Don't listen to the mean man Raichel, you're still cool."

Alloy replies to the latest SG chat type stuff <SG>"Some Circle Mages won't be kersploding the Croatoa train.  I'm more surprised they didn't get jumped by the local factions.  I hope the Mayor is okay... Which Mayor?."<SG>  Gordon Bower, Mayor of Croatoa at least knew the sewer problems in his jurisdiction weren't as bad as the Sewer Network.
Bamzor comments, "She's older than I am at the very least.  If age were an accurate gauge of functionality, your help up front would have been better off."  Hmm, to take Antoinette's pointing as mental quirks or literally... Literally it is!  <SG>"Monitor system with the Doc's face on it in a Talos Cave past some Circle...  Ant's doing the pointing thing, so I may be punching the monitor in a minute<SG>

Bamzor glances around for anything else of note before he will resort to 'Tear Monitor Out Of Wall For Evidence'

"Thanks, Emerald," Raymond answers.  When he hears about the Mayor being kidnapped he hovers off the ground, sparking with electricity, ready to rush to Angel's aid.  But then she says she doesn't need any help.  He floats back down and tries to calm himself.  "Lunch sounds good."

Re: Redemption

For all intents and purposes, Bamzor tearing the monitor out was effectively the "glowie" of that mission.

Sadly, however, the Narrator is unable to find ANY information about ANY mayors anywhere besides the now dead Spanky Rabinowitz. >.> Paragon Wiki, CoH main website, doesn't matter. Not an easy thing to find. So to answer Alloy is currently impossible aside from saying "the mayor of Atlas Park" and/or mayor of Paragon City itself.

Emerald responds to Bamzor, "Well don't destroy the monitor. Just take it and bring it to HQ. I'll meet you there. Alloy, Raichel, take those guys to the local authorities and, if you feel like taking a break, join us for lunch in the base." she then looks at the others. "Guess we'll be having lunch at the base. Let's grab a to-go order or something."

Shelly loves sea food... but also kinda likes trying out the stuff surface dwellers eat. So it's pretty easy to order something they all enjoy. Then they all head to the base.

"The Circle is in on this too??" Raymond answers in surprise, "Emerald and I were ambushed by some Hellions at the Talos station.  They said they weren't hired by the mastermind, rather they were convinced of the rightness of his cause and acted independently.  I wonder if his transmissions have some kind of mind control signal.  Any chance of finding out why those CoT are backing this guy?"

He nods & follows along with the others to have lunch at the base.

Re: Redemption

Emerald enters one of the portals that leads to the Redemption Supergroup Base. Once inside, she heads for the substitute meeting room. This is a room with a table, some files, and is next to the telepad room. This room is often a little messy due to its function: To meet, and immediately head for telepads.

Once she sees everyone there, she presents Antoinette, Raichel and Raymond with the food (Shelly already has hers). She hands Alloy some rock candy for Melty, and whatever it is that's normally given to Alloy and Bamzor in place of food during lunch time. She also raises an eyebrow at the sight of the monitor when Bamzor brings it. "Alright, everyone. Antoinette pointed to this monitor and, the way this city works, I wouldn't be surprised if the monitor itself is our bomber. We have 3 topics to cover: The monitor, the Hellions, and the Circle of Thorns."

The Hellions frown. "We ain't got NOTHIN' to do with those cultist freaks!" one says. Another says, "Yeah. And they creep me out." "Don't be such a wuss." "Weren't you the one who runs screaming like a little girl when you see Vahzilok around?" "Enough, guys. This is getting us nowhere."

Emerald says, "Besides.. there's no shame in running and screaming like a little girl when you're talking about Vahzilok." At least, when they are in slightly overwhelming numbers and are a level or two higher than you. But she doesn't say that.

Antoinette says, "The sad man is in the screen." she points at the monitor Bamzor got.

(OOC: The meeting room and the substitute meeting room have yet to be built, but I have such wonderful plans for them. I figure the main meeting room would be something like when the whole supergroup is meeting for whatever reason, while the substitute meeting room is more for a team's worth of capes meeting to discuss how to deal with an immediate problem. I.E.; what Emmy is using it for.)

"Thanks for the food, Emerald," Raymond says before digging in.  He glares at the Hellions but holds his tongue.  When Ant makes her strange claim he sweatdrops, wondering if it's worth the effort trying to make sense of anything the strange girl says...  but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

"What do you mean by that, Antoinette?  Is it haunted by someone's ghost?"

Re: Redemption

Bamzor shrugs, "I'm gonna guess either AI remains stored inside the monitor, I mean we find them in glowing trash barrels so why not a Monitor...  Or it's a ghost scientist like Raymond said.  The Circle posses scientists all the time when they go out back of Portal Corporation for their Smoke breaks."  This has been your 'Silly justification for Enemy Type' of the day.

"When it comes to the Hellions, the likely answer is that they are just kind of Dumb.  One Supergroup thought a really, really poorly thought out attempt to rob their base by the Hellions was them being put up to it by Arachnos.  Nope, just dumb." Oh hi, reference to new lowbie content.

Alloy adds, "They tried to claim Arachnos did set them up so they should totally be let off when it was brought up."  Both robots glance around as they can feel the very Universe itself straining to keep from exploding due to their interaction.  Then slowly back away from eachother.

"Seriously though.  You're making faustian bargains, have literal Girlfriends from hell" No offense to the less malevolent demons, of course,  "And you're calling the Circle cultist freaks?  I mean, they don't even have the baggy robes anymore."

Re: Redemption

Antoinette says, "Yes." as soon as Raymond asks her his question.

The Hellions don't look too happy with Alloy. "You disrespecting us, you walking scrapheep?"

Emerald says, "Heyheyhey! Nobody's disrespecting you and we're definitely not trying to start a fight. Just chill so we can get to the bottom of the more important issues, like if Paragon's governing body really has been ignoring genuine attempts to improve city life."

Antoinette says, "Turn the monitor on."

Emerald says, "Er... yeah. Um... we need a techy to fix this monitor so we can chat with the guy."

(OOC: Because of the fact Alloy is a robot, but a MAGE and not a techy, I'm reminded of one of my favorite Transformers lines of all time and it came from the new "Transformers: Prime" series: Human asks Arcee "You're a machine and change into a motorcycle... don't you know how to repair a motorcycle or build an engine?" Arcee responds, "You're a human. Can you build me a small intestine?")

Re: Redemption

Raymond skews his lips, and decides to not get involved in the discussion with the Hellions.

"We need a tech expert to hook up a damaged monitor," he says in the Supergroup's channel, "You available to help with that, Eli?  We're in the base."

He glances at the monitor. "I'm no expert, but...   don't haunted TVs turn on without being plugged in?  Oh wait...  I think I got that notion from a movie.  Never mind."

Re: Redemption

"Oh, I can probably patch it up if you just need it working.  Just don't ask me to build you a new one, or a better one."

He doesn't bother looking back at the Hellions when he comments "A bit tasteless in my choice of words, but when you get down to it your choice of methods are the same.  At least for where you get your Arcane push.  Though some would consider you smarter than the original Circle.  You didn't get your bodies stolen because you believed 'hey, stab this demonic sharp object into your heart' would work out in your favor."

Alloy will go to pick up the Monitor and bring it to a more convenient worktable like location.  "I feel somehow the inventor will be so disappointed we have no giant flamethrowers or laser turrets to try and turn against us.  We will probably want Eli around when things get real technical though, dealing with a mad scientist and all."  Repairs would commence at the speed of The Script.

OOC Style: Surprise!  Alloy is not ironically ignorant in technical matters!  Though aside from his own workings he's only as qualified as his "Maintenance and Janitorial duties" deal would suggest... For a mad scientist aid.  Igor!  The cable is out!  Though the most fancy Tech thing he's done is jury rig his Sonic Scrubber ala Praetorian clockworks into his Sonic Resonance device.

Re: Redemption

The Hellions not only seem satisfied with Alloy's comment, they even laugh. "Honestly! Who stabs themselves? For any reason? ....besides suicide, of course."

Eli responds to the call, "I'm available. Comin'."

Emerald says, "Well, Eli, turns out Alloy is good for repairing the monitor, but we may still need you for any technical jargon."

Eli answers, "OK."

Eli arrives around the time Alloy has the monitor up and running. The face of the bomber is on there and he looks annoyed. "Curse you... for stealing one of my monitors, of course."

Antoinette points at him. The guy rolls his eyes. "Good grief, what IS this girl's deal anyway?! How did you get ahold of such a wierdo?!"

Emerald says sternly, "Don't be mean." complete with finger-shake.

(OOC: As a fun side note, I checked the paragon market for costume slot, found it was for sale! So I slammed the 500 or so points it was going for and BOY did that set me free! I immediately got to work! My cherubs will now be complete (there are 6 cherubs, so need 6 slots), I was able to have the slot to have Raichel right there with Team Rocket Liberty for my pokemon trainer, and that's just for starters. I tried to make Timothius' mom for "Velocity", but... for her to be complete (I made the costume a while back), I need auras unlocked. So I'll need to figure out what other costume I'll give Vel when I get level 30 since I'll have 2 empty slots then. Still working on Angel and Emmy, but chances are that sixth slot will be the incarnate unlocks for those two.)

Raymond can't help but chuckle at Bamzor's stab at the Circle.  "I didn't know they did that.  Jeez.  They're crazier than I thought."

He of course is angry with the Monitor Man for his comment.  "Her 'deal' is she's figured you out, villain!  She knows that you're a ghost in that machine.  And you know what happens to evil ghosts?  Eternal prison in an artifact, that's what!  So you'd best be spilling bomb locations if you want to prevent that!"

Re: Redemption

The monitor responds to Raymond, "Who are you calling villain, you self-righteous slave of the corrupt government?! You stand up for filth and sit here interrogating me like you're the police, when you're nothing more than a vigilante at best!"

His eyes then dart to Alloy. "You bunch are SO smart. You obviously don't need me."

Antoinette gets watery eyes. "Don't be sad, Mister... my friends DO want to help."

Emerald glances at Antoinette then looks back at the monitor, looking just as angry as Raymond. "Say whatever you want to make yourself feel better about yourself; it won't change the fact your bombs put people's lives in danger. Which is countering the very point of your goal. You're not just a villain... you're a hypocrite."

The monitor responds to Emerald, "To make an omelet, you gotta crack a few eggs."

Shelly says, "But in doing so, you make the people not want anything associated with you. And the people, NOT the corrupt officials, are the ones you wanted to know about your intentions."
