Re: Loudwater (F.R. Chapter 1)

Under normal circumstances, Joe would be annoyed Raichel rushed off into a ridiculously outnumbered and separated from her allies position first thing.  However, normal circumstances would have had them know Hyenas were behind the Gold Casket.  If Joe stopped to blame his fellow PC's for every case of Professional Writer shafting them, his degree of bitterness would escalate to the point he implodes into a black hole.

Speaking of Professional Writer messing with you, Joe jumps through the proverbial hoops behind moving a single tiles worth of space with juuust enough skill to make it effortlessly... A grudging thank you to Elven make armor on that end.  Joe's arrows don't have quite the same effectiveness and accuracy as his freebie shots, only grazing the most injured Hyena with a single arrow.  "Not to sound insensitive to the needs of others, but I think you should back out of there as soon as you can safely manage it Raichel."
Move: onto the back tile of gold coffin (its stuck as a double tile. so need to say which tile I'm in.  Meaning enemies can't melee attack Joe from the East side unless they climb up there with him).  No need for athletics roll I'm +9=auto success.
  Minor: Quarry Marauder 1
Standard: Twin strive  Vs. Hyena 2 both times. Miss, hit. 6 DMG

Reaction intentions: D Strike to first thing to 'hit' Raichel.

Hyena2 HP: 23-6= 17

Timothius comes hurrying after Raichel. "By the power of the Platinum Dragon, I *will* protect you!" and with that, he slams his sword down on the hyena, nearly killing it. A translucent golden shield appears in front of Raichel. He then yells, "Be healed!" and a power washes over Raichel that this group... hasn't seen Tim do yet (to the player's knowledge) and her wounds begin to close.

Re: Loudwater (F.R. Chapter 1)

Butterfly panics again. Raichel is getting hurt just as she thought! She runs towards the casket while firing arrows at it and nimbly runs up the arrows like they were stairs! At the top of the casket, she fires at the remaining Marauder. With gnolls being forces of nature in that they can't be reasoned with, at least by heroes, Butterfly just lets arrows fly. The first hits quite true, but the other two go flying past the Marauder, causing a stiff breeze around him. The one that hit, hit hard. "We've got your back, Raichel!" she calls.

(Minor: Quarry on Marauder 1.)
(Minor: Archer's Stairway. Casket now auto-success to climb.)

Re: Loudwater (F.R. Chapter 1)

Raichel is delirious when Joe makes his request. "Must protect... children.." her programmed mental process spews from her mouth. Then she gets healed by Timothius. "Thanks!" she says with a determined expression, her more feral nature showing a bit as a bunch of her fur and such stands on end. She moves over to be behind Timothius, managing to win self preservation over rage. "The door...." she says in a tormented tone, only doing what she did in compliance with Joe's request. She trusts her allies. They have yet to prove untrustworthy to her so far. The girl grabs at her chest like talking hurt a little and she coughs some blood. Not that that is the only place she's bleeding. With a stiff kick, she knocks Tim's challenged pup unconscious.

(Minor: Razorclaw Shifting)
Until end of encounter, +2 speed and +1 bonus to AC and Reflex.
(Move: Shift 2 as per move technique.)

Re: Loudwater (F.R. Chapter 1)

Elric moves forth following after Timothius and moves just north of Timothius as a healing rune Elric is drawing in the air flares with a cold blue fire before it appears on Raichel as more of her wounds are healed. “Then we hold this area in the name of Pelor!”
Elric then says, “Since ancient days, gods like Pelor have used a mighty rune to protect their astral domains against primordials. I have now placed that very rune into the floor to consecrate this area!” with Elric's eyes glowing a bright green as the Warforged Runepriest strikes a mighty rune into the ground consecrating the area around him which even reaches into the doorway as a burst of Radiant Energy slams into both Marauder 1 and Hyena 3. While Hyena 1 is able to dodge the brunt of the burst, it too suffers some radiant damage as it is not able to avoid the attack completely. Noticing how two of the three are realing so strongly from the attack, Elric calmly states, “As they proved especially vulnerable to the light of Pelor's Wrath these beings must be creatures of darkness. However, Pelor is not without mercy, surrender now and you won't end up like the two who have already fallen before us. It is not too late for you, but this is your last chance.”

[OOC:
Move Action: Move to Z12
Minor Action: Rune of Mending (Protective) on Raichel, Raichel HP: 13 + 16 = 29, Surges 5/7 (No longer Bloodied. Rolled a 6 on the 1d6 for healing.)
Standard Action: Rune of the Undeniable Dawn: CRIT vs Marauder1, Miss vs Hyena1 (but only just rolled a 15, needed a 16), CRIT vs Hyena3. (Rolled 12 Radiant Damage so 6 on the miss to Hyena1. Both critical hits result in 10+5+1d6 (rolled a 5) = 20 Radiant Damage! Two crits out of the three attacks... damn that is some rune. Dealing 46 total damage and healing 16 and without spending an action point, Elric is having one hell of a round.)
Hyena1 HP: 37-6=31
Hyena3 HP: 29-20=9, (Blooded)
Gnoll Marauder1 HP: 84-20=64
Active Rune State: Rune of Protection While Adjacent to Elric, allies gain resist 2 to all damage.
Current Rune Effects:
Rune of Mending Rune of Protection: Elric and each ally in the burst gains a +1 bonus to all defenses until the end of Elric's next turn.
Rune of the Undeniable Dawn's Zone Effect: Burst 3, Elric and his allies gain a +2 power bonus to all defenses while within the zone. This Close Burst 3 size immobile zone lasts until the end of Elric's next turn unless it is sustained as a minor action. (Sustain: Minor)
Newly boosted defenses: (while they remain within the zone, if they leave the zone, they only get the +1 bonus to all defenses from Rune of Mending, Protective state)
Raichel: AC: 26, Fort: 19, Ref: 22, Will: 20 (The +2 Power bonus to AC from Timothius's Shielding Smite and this zone do not stack.)
Timothius: AC 25; Fortitude 19, Reflex 18; Will 19 (Also Currently has resist 2 all due to being adjacent to Elric.)
Elric: AC 24; Fortitude 20, Reflex 17; Will 21
Joe: AC: 22; Fort 19, Reflex 22, Will 20
Butterfly: AC 23; Fortitude 19, Reflex 22; Will 20
As this is the second encounter in this 'dungeon, we hit a milestone after this and gain an additional action point right? Although if we have 2 more fights it may be better to save action points for both of those encounters. (I don't plan on using my daily utility this fight, and I am saving that for the boss fight as we will probably need the extra healing then.)
Remember, Elric will use Word of the Blinding Shield (Protection) vs first enemy within 5 squares of him to hit an ally as an interrupt, +11 vs Fortitude. On a success the enemy is blinded (Which is effectively a -5 to hit for the enemy) until the end of its next turn and the ally gains 3 temporary hit points.</b>]

"Hard reality of these jobs.  Being dead helps nobody, live and manage what you can... Says the guy who blocked Gnolls pathways with himself." Joe's losing his hardboiled Noir detective Ranger edge he left Luskan with.  Is this a Bad Thing Yes/No?  Joe fires an arrow dead centre into the forhead of the Hyena hassling Tim... and it doesn't drop.  Joe's shot was just rushed enough for the arrow to only drive itself partially into the Hyena skull, merely nicking it's compact brain.  Shame Joe didn't fire an arrow with a flag on it or something, the Hyena's skull would wave it for them.

Now imagine a Cleric with a stethoscope telling their patient that the X-rays show good news!  Your brain's only been grazed a little!
Standard: Careful Attack to Hyena 3, Hits, 8 DMG.

Raichel sees the Gnoll Huntmaster going for the door and says, "Oh no you don't!" she heads for the huntmaster, stuffs a finger just behind his jawbone and yanks. The gnoll is forced to move and is getting hurt as Rai moves him. Towards the end of the move, Raichel sends an electric charge through the gnoll's brain and he flails, attacking the hyena in front of him! The gnoll manages to miss and the hyena dodges. Raichel could care less. She got the guy away from the door. But to assure he doesn't move towards it again, she immediately follows up with a sweep, knocking the huntmaster down. "I won't allow it!"

Elric's eyes glow in harmony with the rune he placed on the ground as his will sustains the zone. Elric then swings his greatspear at Hyena3 as a rune of exchange which embodies the opposing forces contained within the divine runic alphabet, since what one being gains, another must lose. However, The Hyena manages to dodge the blow, and thinks it is safe as Elric shifts to be adjacent to both Raichel and Timothius before suddenly regripping his Greatspear to swing it downwards like a sledgehammer , except with a spearhead still glowing with the Rune of Exchange, which smacks down right at the Hyena's neck as a secondary hammer looking rune flickering into view as the blow strikes and the Hyena collapses to the ground with a broken neck. “By rejecting Pelor's mercy, I will deal his wrath to those who reject the light by attempting to drag innocent souls into the darkness that is slavery.”

However, Butterfly immediately feels the magic flowing in the air and recognizes it is time to target the huntmaster. She knocks two arrows in her bow and lets go of the string. Slow motion begins and only Butterfly's beating heart is heard and the reflection of her aim is reflected in her green eyes. The arrows fly straight and true towards their target. Magic begins to weave about each arrow, but one of them seemed destined to find the gnoll dead anyway. One arrow buries itself into the gnoll's heart. The other, however, goes right through the gnoll's eye, through its brain and out the spine, severing the spine from the head before the arrow simply exits and buries itself into the floor. Back to normal speed, the gnoll collapses in a heap, unable to even let out a yelp as its death was instant.

Timothius didn't even get the chance to punish the huntmaster. But the fight isn't over and Bahamut demands justice from Tim against the remaining enemies. He turns, holds up his sword and swings at the marauder, missing by a bit as the gnoll dodges. He has nothing to say to the enemy at this point. Just having a serious expression as inwardly, he is torn. Saddened by the need to kill, yet furious with these demons for what they have done. His resolve is not shaken, though; only empowered by Elric as Tim himself has yet to be hit.

(Standard: Enfeebling Strike. Miss.)

On the bright side, I would have missed the hunt master with this roll, so it was either Hunt master die in this round or Marauder die in this round. Better that Elric's promise was fulfilled so quick.
