Re: Unity Act 2:  Dark Visions

Shale moves to the west just far enough to trigger his Shadow Walk before he places his warlock's curse on Blackblade 2 and glares at the goblin with a slight grin on the Gnome's face. Shale's eyes briefly gleam with brilliant colors as Blackblade 2 reels under Shale's mental assault before collapsing on the ground. Shale then teleports next to Blake as Blake's curse manifests as an explosion which hits the other goblin (Blackblade 1) and burns it enough that it too collapses to the ground. This triggers another of Blake's curses, this time resulting in Bugbear Warrior 1 getting burned.

[OOC: Move Action: Move to G13 to trigger Shadow Walk
Minor Action: Curse Blackblade 2, double curse so grants Shale and Reverie CA.
Standard Action: Eyebite on Blackblade 2. Hits and drops Blackblade 2
Blackblade 2 HP:1-12=-11 (KOed)
Free Action: Blake's Curse effect 'booms' Blackblade 1 for 6hp, Blackblade 1 HP:1-6=-5 (KOed)
Free Action; Blake's Curse effect is another boom, this time on Bugbear Warrior 1.
Bugbear 1 HP: 49-6=43
Free Action: Shale's Improved Misty Step teleports to L13
Shale's current defenses are:

Emerald answers the Underboss's question. "Let's just say it's a standard case of we rule, you drool. The children on our team can take you because you suck. And yes, I know your simple language. And yes, I also know you sent the big beefy bugbear after the girl because you can't handle her and want to stay safe in your little circle of healing."

"Liberty, I know you want to punish the one who hit you, so I'll leave him to you."

(OOC: *looks at Winged Horde* That's a sweet At-Will. Sweet enough I may consider it. Eliminating AoO from one enemy is one thing, but a whole group of them? A sound escape tactic. Even allowing the ability to run if need be. Hmm....)

(Move: Shift to I12)
(Standard Vicious Mockery v Underboss. Miss.)
(Minor: Majestic Word on Liberty) <-- slide Liberty to H11 so she will soon flank with Gilant.

"YEHARG!" the underboss screams as it's lit even more on fire!  Stop drop and rolling on the icy floor doesn't help any.  "I'll get you for that!  Die!"

Even if it wasn't distracted by being lit on fire, it probably wouldn't have attacked Emerald for her taunt.  Too many heroes in the way.  Now that it's standing next to a wolf, it swings at Mittens while directing the wolf to attack simultaneously, but both attacks bounce harmlessly off her heavy metal armor!

(( Failed save throw.  7+2 = 9.  Juuuust missed it! XD ))

"Nyah-hyeah!" Mittens taunts the underboss in that Simpsons bully tone while shifting to the west before addressing Eli, "Speaking of butt-kicking kids...  Much as I'd love to have a rematch with ya using this fireball on me, Eli, could you scootch it and the ice to the west a smidge please?  Oooh!  Even better!  Freedom!  Back up a bit so Eli can put the fireball where you're standing!  It'll be perfect!  Oh wait...  Then he won't be able to flank with me.  Ignore me!  Me am not know tactics!"

She then gets a sadistic grin and glares at the underboss.  Blood trickles down the corner of her mouth and her knuckles crack as she grips her sword tight and raises it high!

"But I know SMASH!"

She brings the pommel down and fractures his skull with a sickening SNAP!  Instinctively, the underboss takes on a more defensive posture.

"AAAAA!!!" it screams, tears vaporizing from it's still being on fire, "I SURRENDER!  I SURRENDER!  ENOUGH!"

(( Move: shift.  Minor: Divine challenge on underboss.  Standard Blood of the Mighty daily!  HIT!  Mittens is not a ninja.  She can smash you even if you're on fire!

Freedom swings his Craghammer in a freezing whirlwind that strikes the four wolves adjacent to him while freezing them in place before the warforged warden shifts to flank the Underboss with Mittens. Freedom then says, “You should really surrender along with what forces you have left. They are no match for us, but you must prove you are going to surrender and not just stall for time to think of some way to escape this situation. There is no escape. All you are doing is wasting what forces you have left under your command,” as Freedom marks the Goblin Underboss. Freedom's Craghammer then crashes against the Goblin Underboss and sends a tremor to strike the Underboss again with thundering pain to temporarily immobilize the Goblin Underboss.

[OOC: Standard Action: Form of the Winter Herald's Attack vs Wolves 1,2,3, & 4. Hit all 4 for 12 damage and each is immobilized (save ends).

Each Wolf is immobilized (save ends)
Move Action: Shift to L9 to flank the Underboss with Mittens.
Free Action: Mark the Underboss.
Action Point: Tremor Slam on Underboss. Hit due to flanking and Warforged Tactics with Mittens
Underboss HP: 47-11-4=32 (Bloodied) and Immobilized until the end of Freedom's next turn.]

Re: Unity Act 2:  Dark Visions

Eli smiles bashfully at Blake's compliment. "Thanks, Blake. I felt it was the most opportune moment to use both..." he says before he answers Mittens, "I understand what you're getting at, Mittens. Don't worry about it. I'm no warlord, but I was taught by one." he half-brags. He waves a hand and the sphere goes rolling along the ground, leaving small licks of flame along the ground in its path. The ball of fire winds up next to the bugbear and stops. "I'm positive Michael can take care of the wolves without harming any of you. My ball of fire is a bit too much to have close to my friends." Even as he speaks, the ice vanishes. "And the ice doesn't last, sorry." Then a pillar of fire shoots from the ball into the bugbear's side. It causes major ouch. But even so, as the pillar retracts, the ball burns brighter and waves of heat hit relentlessly on the bugbear. Gilant and Liberty, while not hurt by the fire, can definitely feel its heat...

(Minor: Sustain Flaming Sphere)
(Move: Move Flaming Sphere over to Bugbear)
(Standard: Attack bugbear with sphere. Hit!)
 dmg: 14 (+9)

The 9 dmg is because Eli rolled max dmg for "haha you started adjacent to it"
So current bugbear HP is 29, but he will take 9 dmg at the start of his next turn.

(Bugbear 1 HP: 43 - 14 = 29 (- 9 = 20))

Reverie just can't curse fast enough. She will SO ask Blake how he does that AOE curse. It is *essential* to a warlock, it seems. Either way, she sees the boss is dying and moves to curse him at least, her movement continuing to cloak her in shadow. The downing of the Blackblade via Blake's boon winds up activating Reverie's as energy seems to flow from the creature over to Reverie. She whispers something and the goblin's eyes go wide as his skin starts to turn a lighter shade of green.

Gilant quickly takes out one of the healing potions he has in his belt pouch and gulps it down before dropping the empty vial and glaring at the Bugbear Warrior while licking his lips.

Gilant then chuckles in a cold tone of voice, “I never let up anyways. As long as there is a foe left, I continue to deal with it,” as Gilant swings his sword at the Bugbear Warrior who manages to evade the swing, but is caught unprepared when Gilant suddenly reverses his swing and catches the Bugbear in the chest with the blade as Gilant's second Booming blade strike lands.

Gilant then laughs, “I'm guessing that one more blow and your going to drop, and you can no longer even run from this fight, since if you flee from me, it will be the last thing you do. With your boss ranting on about him surrendering, are you going to surrender to us as well, or do you plan to fight to the death? Either way with that flaming sphere standing next to you, even if we do nothing, you only have seconds left before you drop. And you don't have the means to take one of us with you when you drop. Must be infuriating to realize how impotent you really are.” With Gilant's tone combined with the grin on his face as he finishes speaking, it is clear that he is wanting the Bugbear to keep on fighting.

[OOC: Minor Action: Retrieve a Potion of Healing from his Belt Pouch.
Move Action: -> Minor Action: Use the Potion of Healing and spend a healing surge.
Free Action: Drop the empty vial to free up offhand.
Gilant HP:24+10=34 of 37, and has 4 Healing Surges left for the day. (And two more Potions of Healing (Heroic tier).)
Standard Action: Booming Blade vs Bugbear Warrior 1, Misses.
Action Point: -> Standard Action: Booming Blade vs Bugbear Warrior 1, hits.
Bugbear 1 HP: 29 - 16 = 13 and bloodied (- 9 = 4)
Bugbear 1 is still going to take the 9 damage at the beginning of its turn, and if it moves away from Gilant, it will take 7 thunder damage which will KO the Bugbear Warrior.
Gilant's Aegis of Shielding mark is still on Wolf5. And ironically, Wolf5 is the only wolf that might have a shot at attacking someone who isn't a defender next round. Too bad Gilant missed with the first attack or the bugbear warrior would have been dropped. Heck with 4hp left after the start of its turn it should realize that the next person to hit him is going to drop him, so the question remains does the Bugbear try to get in one more attack before he drops or not. Even if Liberty and Gilant both miss next round, the bugbear would be dropped by the auto damage from the flaming sphere, unless the sphere is moved to start mass AoEing the wolves before they spread out.]

Shale places his warlock's curse on the Underboss before the gnome moves next to Emerald to sustain his Shadow Walk as he hurls two bolts of dark, crackling eldritch energy at the Underboss in rapid succession. While the Underboss manages to avoid the first bolt of eldrtich energy, the Underboss is smacked in the face by the second bolt and crumples to the ground.

Shale then realizes that with the Underboss knocked out, no one is left to call off the wolves, “Um... Opps. I guess I should have given him a chance to tell the others to surrender first. Although I doubt the wolves would listen to him given how annoyed they look,” as Shale instantly transforms into a silver mist that streams over towards the western wall and reforms into that of the Gnomish Warlock.

Taking advantage of house rules and the fact Michael hasn't posted, Reverie magically goes before Michael. They shriek in fear and swat and snap at this phantom menace, leaving them unable to react to the maneuvers of Michael's allies. Then Michael quickly commands shadows to reach out and grab hold of the wolves, although Wolf 3 manages to evade the grasp of the shadows, while the other wolves are held fast by the shadows while the area is wreathed in darkness.

Michael then moves away from the wolves as he says, “That won't keep them still, so we should work to try to knock them out before they separate, but for now they can't flank us with each other.”

Eli hopes the bottom floor isn't too covered in 2nd floor ceiling to have access to the basement. He lets his hand down and the flaming sphere disappears. "We should stick together, so let's take the boss and his thugs down with us?" the question mark being much like how kids answer questions with that unsure hmm? sound at the end of their sentence. He immediately gets to tying the goblin underboss.

Bridget hears Eli and nods. "Blake, Reverie, Shale. The hobgoblin may be coming up the stairs. Watch for him at the top of the steps and fire on him if you see him. Gilant, protect them in case the hobgoblin can actually charge through their assault. The rest of us can quickly tie up the others and then we can all go down together."

Emerald doesn't argue. She goes to help Liberty with tying up the hobgoblin that DIDN'T get shoved off the tower. Reverie does as instructed and stands at the top of the steps.
