May grins. "I'd LOVE some ice cream! Let's go!"

On the way there, May says, "Wish it was as simple as asking the Feywild people to please don't hurt us and asking the Prime Material people to please don't hurt the Feywild people."

Re: Wrath of the Feywild

"Yeah," Gale sighs, "I don't expect asking nicely to work either.  But I do intend to ensure that both sides are asked nicely.  If for no other reason than to make it so that neither side can honestly say, 'Well no one asked us not to.'"

This last part said mockingly.  At the ice cream place she'll pay for May's order up front plus tip.

"I'd been meaning to form a group for brainstorming ideas on how best to secure peace between the two sides so when Hoal, Marakai, and I won the school competition, I jumped on the chance to invite the other teams who competed.  That's the new ice cream club.  I'm expecting most of those ideas to involve some danger, so your new combat skills will likely be needed."

Hoal nods,  "So far those who do not simply ignore us seem more concerned with hurting us before we might hurt them. So then we have to hurt them anyways.  Probably making them use that as justification because self defense is always considered a crime to those faced with it."

Re: Wrath of the Feywild

Mara-Kai says, "Not entirely so. The fairies are fey and they listened to us and thanked us. And Quelanna is an eladrin. Sure she calls the Prime Material home, but... well I have to believe that just like there are very likely some patriots of the Feywild here on the Prime Material, there are probably patriots of the Prime Material over in the Feywild. And just like we care about the lives in both worlds, surely there are heroes over in the Feywild who care for the lives of both worlds also."

May shrugs. "Won't know until we go to the place itself and track down their major officials, right? Speaking of... IS the plan to eventually go to the Feywild?"

Gale nods.

"Indeed.  There is always hope for a favorable outcome even if it may take some risk to our safety and reputation.  But if the worst that comes of this is being accused of wrongdoing for defending ourselves I'll consider us fortunate."

She nods to May.  "If possible it seems like that would be the logical approach once it becomes an option.  We'll need to meet those patriots if we're to coordinate with them."

Re: Wrath of the Feywild

The group then feels themselves pelted with beads. The kind normally used to make friendship bracelets. "Greetings in the name of the Fairy Kingdom! My name is Rain! I have been sent here to aid you in... in... I forget! But hey! I'll help you however I can! And if I ever remember what it was I'm here for, I'll let you know right away!" this said from a female fairy, hovering nearby, armed with a bandolier of beads.

May blinks for a moment. "...Using beads as weapons... I've gotta try this!"

Mara-Kai says, "Greetings, Rain! We welcome your help... maybe you, as a fairy, know the way into the Feywild?"

Rain says, "Of course I do! You just take main street down to the Forest of Hollows, pass the Green Lake, and... and... you know? It's funny... I was so sure I knew the way, but I just can't remember..."

May asks, "You have memory issues, don't you?"

Rain responds, "I do not! I swear I know the way! But... I just.. I don't know why I can't remember that right now."

Re: Wrath of the Feywild

Gale is startled by the beads but calms down when she realizes it was a harmless fairy prank.  Or was that a greeting?

"I'm sure the bead shower wasn't meant as an attack, May."

She turns to Rain to introduce herself and the others, then continues, "My guess is that you've been magically charmed to be unable to remember certain tings.  You mentioned the Fairy Kingdom.  I've had the privilege of speaking with the queen face to face.  Was it she who sent you, Rain?"

Friendship projectiles, yeah May would probably manage that somewhat lethally.  Still, Hoal catches a few thrown upside his head, and pockets them for later examination/keepsake if they don't have any particularly arcane properties.

"Your aid is appreciated, Rain.  I am sure that even if you can not think of our destination, you will think of something."

Rain nodnods. "Yup. Why? You wanna go see her? I at least know the way back HOME."

Mara-Kai says, "Actually, a visit to the Fairy Queen wouldn't hurt our research. But maybe we should send someone who isn't busy with school."

May says, "But I just got back to hanging out with you guys again!"

Gale considers the fairy's question and nods.  "Meeting with the queen again would probably be a big help, yes.  But before I go with you, I'll need to make some arrangements.  Also, since you're here, in a city famous for its school of magic we may as well find out if you really are under a spell."

She smiles at May.  "Together."

"Yes, traveling alone at this point is likely not worth any potential time saved.  Nevermind the fact that we like you enough to not deprive ourselves of your company without reason."

He does hope the school materials are more helpful than they have been recently for Gale's good ideas.

May yippees! Rain copies!

Rain asks, "Sooo... when? Right now?"

Regardless of when is decided, the group eventually does get the chance to go meet the queen. What is now up to the group is who goes. A character select screen titled "Select your team" pops up.

Gale smiles at the adorableness, now fully aware that May is as cute as a fairy.  Once she has confirmed that Rain isn't under a spell and that it's ok to miss some classes, Gale heads for the fairy kingdom with Rain and the others.  She'll be sure to invite Quelenna before leaving.  On the way she'll ask Rain about her beads.

“What's the meaning of throwing beads at someone?”

Select screen also includes Tim's characters. Tim is indifferent which of his characters go on this mission, but who you choose makes a difference how the mission goes.

The Icecream Club visits the Fairy Queen.  If only things were as pleasant as that sounds.

Hoal is somewhat biased towards his Sister, but if she feels better suited to keeping things steady back home he'll go with her choice.

When the group is ready, they are provided a carriage for the visit.

Rain, Quel, Mara-Kai, May, and Timothius accompany Hoal and Gale.

Rain is a typical fairy; inquisitive, hyperactive, emotional, but generally cheery.
Quel compares what notes she has with Gale, Hoal and Mara. May gets bored of the over-her-head arcane talk and soon chats with Timothius. Only to find he's a non-violence sort.

Gale does her best to keep poor May entertained with her signature "silent movie" cantrips.  Chibi May vs. dancing sword, etc.  Meanwhile she'll be sure to recount her adventures so far for Rain and Timothius, going into the most detail when describing the first visit to the fairy kingdom.  Beyond that she'll take time to get caught up with old friends and get to know the new ones.

Re: Wrath of the Feywild

Mara-Kai falls asleep on Hoal's shoulder on the way. Apparently, road trips knock her out.

Quelenna helps Gale with recounting the fairy kingdom bit. May is always sure to chime in excitedly when Gale mentions any combat.

Timothius is quiet most of the time. Somehow, everyone fails their perception about 70% of the time when Timothius tries to say something and winds up interrupted or unable to get a word in edgewise. (One of my RL super powers!) But when he does manage to speak, he says kind, gentle, and life-loving things.

Rain eats up all the info dump and seems to have a very selective memory that depends on what she cared about in the past minute. Typical fairy, really. But she is pleasant enough and smiles most of the time.

Eventually, the team is getting close enough to their destination that the carriage is parked.

Gale smiles that she was able to cure May of her boredom and boasts of the kobold's courage, skill, and grace in combat.  She is sure to compliment each person at least a little.  Mara's selflessness, Hoal's practicality, Quel's trustworthiness, Rain's playfulness, and Timothius' love of life for example.  Once she notices Timo's power she makes it a point to glance to see if his lips are moving before talking again herself.  At the destination she takes the same path that was taken last time and politely introduces the group to whomever asks along the way.

Re: Wrath of the Feywild

The fairies are all dancing around excitedly when the group arrives. Seems they are playing with a little girl human. When Gale introduces herself, the fairies go to the group and swarm around them each before surrounding them all. The fairy queen approaches them.

The Queen says, "Greetings. I trust you had a safe trip?"

Rain excitedly dances around Gale and says, "Yes! Yes!"
