Meriele has a compelling argument. But these men do seem uptight and just vying for a fight. She isn't sure even being a religious lady is going to save the trio of cat-siblings from an inevitable fight.
Timothius can't help but find it ironic that Mittens, despite being all about fire, could make the room, or drinks, colder via prestidigitation. But he knows to keep quiet. ANYTHING he says could be construed as either a lie... or a threat.
