Kobold Hall test (Gnara and Hazel)

Dominating the room ahead is a long trench filled with a glowing green substance. Beyond the trench, a small, reptilian humanoid stands in a shadowy chamber, gaping at you. It carries a sling, and quickly reaches into a pouch at its belt for a stone. It hisses and shouts, “Intrudersss! Intrudersss!”

Hazel rushes forward, looking ready to leap over the pit, but gets pummeled from the side by a jar of glue that immediately sticks him to the location! He lets out a yelp!

Gnara heads forward and throws a shadow at the kobold before yoinking him into the pit and cackling. "AAAAhahahahaha!"

The kobold eeps! "The hells! They have gnoll with shadow magic!"

When Hazel takes a glue blob to the face, Rhagar has a moment bordering on humor in being thankful he has no fur to end up sticking out everywhere from such things.

This gets sidetracked as Rhagar rolls a 2 in his first round of combat for the nth time.

Another kobold rushes out and stabs Nathan with his spear!

Hazel growls and becomes feral, then turns his rune circle counter-clockwise and his wounds start to heal... and everyone feels stronger. Anyone looking at the kobold next to Nathan and Hazel feels even stronger still.

The slinger in the pit struggles and breaks free of the sludge! ...but fails to climb out and gets stuck again. He curses in draconic.

Gnara laughs darkly as she vanishes and suddenly appears behind all the skirmishers. She stabs the one in front of Nathan and cackles before the kobold's own shadow envelopes Gnara and she disappears again! The kobold looks like he is barely standing.

Re: Kobold Hall test (Gnara and Hazel)

A kobold is faced with staying and stabbing the feral dog with a spiked chain who can heal himself or go face the two melee guys who haven't even been all that hurt yet, one of whom just brainsplotioned his buddy.

Between the dog being more hurt and the fact that going to the other two means he could get flanked, he attacks Hazel. Not knowing Gnara is flanking him. All that and he misses anyway.

Re: Kobold Hall test (Gnara and Hazel)

The slinger beyond the portcullis tosses another deadly pot of glue at Hazel, causing him to puppy-yelp again!

The skirmisher next to Nathan and Rhagar yells, "Surrender, I die! No surrender, I die! So me fight! Not die coward!" and swings at Nathan, but his swing clangs off Nathan's armor.

Hazel's wounds seem to be closing on their own, but he does the thing with his runes again, causing the wounds to close faster. Hazel then swings his chain at the kobold before him and it rips the kobold's jugular open. Along with many other parts of the guy's flesh.

The kobold in the pit hurls a pot at Nathan, gluing him in place. "You no take candle!" he yells as a battle-cry.

Gnara then lassos the one beyond the portcullis and yanks him closer before teleporting behind him! "AAahahahaha!" the kobold looks very hurt.

Rhagar considers breaking off to deal with the slinger still taking shots out of spite at Nathan, but instead opts to put the remaining skirmisher at an even worse position than before, making a shallow slice across it's leg before much less gracefully punting his enemy.

Unfortunately, this merely sends it sprawling to the ground instead of falling into the pit.  Tark would be having a conniption about safety standards if he were here.

Skirmisher HP: 27-5=22/27 Skirmisher prone.

The slinger to the north backs up from Gnara and gluepots her, making her puppy-yelp! Yeah, totally going to describe that every time one of the doggies gets hit. XD ....OK, so Gnara instantly growls afterwords.

The skirmisher slashes Nathaniel in the neck in the same way Nathaniel slashed the kobold! He can't make a retort because his throat is slit.

Hazel then smacks down the skirmisher with his spiked chain, knocking it unconscious. Or dead. We don't know which.

Gnara lassos the slinger and strangles him to death even as he gets pulled to her. Gnara giggles, cheered up so easily.

The remaining slinger just slouches. "...I give up."

Hazel breaks free from still more glue. "Are you guys gonna be alright?" He heads to Nathaniel first to check on him and starts helping patch up the angel. Hazel seems to know what he's doing (haha trained in heal)

After patching up Nathaniel, Hazel checks Rhagar and Gnara before going to find a spot to sit without sitting on broken pottery.

Rharar is fairly well off compared to the rest, having taken only one mild hit.  He feels silly spending a heal surge over 5 HP until he remembers this is level 1, so his surge value is only 6 anyways, and that 5 HP is 1/5 his max HP.

A cursory search of the room shows no real loot besides what was on the kobolds.

Speaking of, the kobold in the pit is soon snatched and bound up by Hazel. Then tossed back into the pit for good measure. "We'll be back for you."

Gnara giggles and eventually breaks free of the glue she got stuck with.

Once the team is ready to move on, Hazel is willing to let Nathaniel take lead, though somewhat hesitant.

A flight of stairs leads down into a room that has four stone coffins, all of which show
signs of vandalism and abuse. To the left is a series of six niches, set apart into two groups of three. Two more niches along the walls each hold a suit of armor. On the opposite end of the room is a raised section of floor with a makeshift altar to Tiamat set atop it. Three kobolds carrying spears stand in front of the altar.

GM says kobolds haven't heard or seen the group yet.  So plenty of time to talk strategy.

"I'd rather not fight those kobolds on their terms.  It would be nice to lure them into a trap rather than barge into their trap-filled room.  Gnara proved earlier she can imitate sounds perfectly.  Maybe imitate one of the kobolds we fought and say, 'Hey guys!  We killed an adventurer and he's got more booze than we can drink!  Come and get it!'  Then we jump 'em in the room with the pit."

Hazel is holding his breath. His wounds from last fight are fresh in his mind... as is the sight of Nathan getting hurt so bad. He is hoping he can let Nathan tank this time and maybe health will be more manageable as a result.

Re: Kobold Hall test (Gnara and Hazel)

Two kobolds swing at Nathaniel and one of them dies in the process from sudden angelic charge. A drake scurries up the stairs to charge Nathaniel, but nips at air. All three are still out of Rhagar's sight.

Hazel rushes forward, but stops short, ready to heal anyone on the team.

The kobold on the other ledge grins as he catches the skullskull stone.

Gnara materializes behind the slinger, flanking it with Nathaniel. Then stabs him, killing the kobold! "Heeheehee..." She remains insubstantial.

The kobold earlier? The one grinning? Yeah, he throws the stone at Hazel, knocking the doggy back 10 feet and hurting him!

Another drake starts going up the stairs and Gnara slices it with her sword!

The drake SAVAGES Gnara and it doesn't seem to hurt her near as much as it should have...

The kobold in the corner tries and fails to stab Nathaniel. The drake near Nathaniel also fails to nip at him.

HAHAHAHAHA Insubstantial! Drake rolls low on its d10+9 dmg (11 total) and insubstantial means Gnara only took 5 dmg. XD

A couple kobolds position themselve, ready to charge.

Gnara giggles as she stabs the drake near Nathaniel in a vital spot! "I just love it when my allies gang up like this! More blood! HEEHEEHEE!" is she drooling?

The other drake, though, savages Gnara again. This time, doing a decent amount of harm to her.

Nathaniel continues to luck out as the drake near him nips at him weakly... maybe it's that nasty wound Gnara dealt it?

Rhagar says "They are Drakes, Hazel" as if that is all the explanation that is required.

He flies off of the platform away from the battle, what a cowardly excuse for a-oh he's coming right back between Hazel and Gnara.  He outdoes Gnara's drooling problem with a spray of freezing liquid across the faces of the Drakes, and drives his rapier through the shattering scales and skull of the already wounded beast.

Even with half it's skull missing and a sword driven through it's brain, it still moves to lunge at the Draconian before slumping to the ground halfway through.
Move: Fly around to avoid AoO.
