Assault Group (Danae, Dena, Eternal, Immy)

Taking the stairs up from the Inner Temple Central Column, Fourth Floor leads up to a circular hallway of the same white jade / adamant alloy as the majority of the Inner Temple. The area completely lacks decoration but for the ubiquitious Earth essence patterns emanating through grooves cut into the mirror-smooth surfaces, indicating that the District and its AI are both very much alive and functioning. Essence lights embedded into the ceiling create periodic spotlights of ivory light -- perhaps a front for magitech sensors, or perhaps not.

This time, though, the intention of the group entering the Control Floor is not to avoid detection, but specifically to draw attention away from their colleagues now entering the Gatekeeper Core. Undoubtedly the strongest defenders the Gatekeeper of Earth and the Inner Temple have to offer will be found here.

Exiting from the stairwell, Danae, Dena, Eternal and Immy see only two directions to move in this oppressively artificial environment: clockwise or counterclockwise. And there seem to be footsteps approaching from both ways.

"Let's take a side now before we get caught between them." Dena suggests hurriedly.  She flips a mental coin as her movement begins to change and massive spikes begin growing from her body, toughening her hide more than high-quality armor would.  Coin toss done, Dena chooses to go right and takes the lead up the stairway, wings vibrating in anticipation.

"Um. But won't we get caught anyway? I mean, they're probably going to hear fighting, and then they'll hear the dying, and then they'll run up behind us and see us anyway and stuff. Not that I mind, kinda. We're here to get attention, right?" Although, now that she thought about it, it wa probably better if they didn't had to die halfway. Dying always made a mess of things, and, well, she just made a promise to her little warehouse god. She couldn't just drop it like that--it'd be all sorts of disappointing for the whole thing. She hadn't even started on the hammer.

Actually, it was kinda like she'd already started on it, or at least the dream of it, because it was all coming together already; gold and silver and iron and steel, shining and spinning and grinning in her head. And that kinda counted, right? Because she was a Solar, and Solars could do this

Reaching out, she closed her eyes, and drew a sword that wasn't there.

"They're going to be attacking from both directions either way" Sanae noted, taking a few practice swings before taking up a defensive position on the opposite stairway.  "At any rate, no great big plan, just make sure to pace yourselves and focus your efforts, we don't know how long we're going to be fighting here, and it's not really very sensible to exhaust ourselves early on.

A brief pulse of Essence later, and Danae was wreathed in a pale golden glow, centered mostly around Impeccable Spark, as she established her zone of control--capably covering her side of the stairway.
