Re: Bowshot

Haildas slides his hand down to his belt and slowly loosens the leather straps holding his mace.  Wrapping his fingers around the worn grip he lifts it slightly into an all-familiar position.  He motions for the others to lean in closer...

"Gring...wait here...Krwyn, you go around to the left, I'll circle the right...something isn't right here."

Re: Bowshot

Javal put his backpack back on and took off following Justin.

After they left Bowshot and were in the woods, he took his crossbow off his shoulder and loaded it.

It was now that he spoke.

"So someone called Justin Oge?  What is that slang for Ogre?  Point him out, I'll shoot him in the neck."

Waiting for Justin to turn to look at him, Javal laughed.

After his little joke Javal stayed serious.  He walked on the edge of the path near the woods and scanned constantly for trouble.

stepping on to the  small wooded porch, he  sees  a  well made  chair strong Limbs   bent  about and  lashed together, while a thatched seat and  make  were strongly secured. a small table, made from scraps sat there..a  pipe lay on the table.

The  door is easily pushed in... the  first thing to be seen is  the  small body of the doggie. nearly sliced in half..in its teeth was some bloody  rags.

stepping into the room... the place  is pretty much dark, except  for the  light  from the flickering lighting... the house  has a bit of an inside wall...one , smallside, has  a bed, the rest of the house  is  the  living area....

Re: Bowshot

Haildas cautiously makes his way into the house.  After scanning the room quickly, making certain nothing was waiting in the shadows to pounce, he kneels down beside the deceased dog.  He briefly closes his eyes, silently mouths a prayer for the animal, then begins to feel if there is any heat left in the animal; an attempt to determine how long the beast has been dead.

OOC: Can we discern, or at least guess, as to what may have caused such vicious injuries?  Is the wound a clean cut or torn and jagged?

Setting a good pace Justin lead the Crimsons along the road. The trio covered considerable terrain during which he was able to assess Javals endurance with a quick march. Master Javal wouldst Thee care to provide us with demonstrations of Thy abilities

Re: Bowshot

Javal had remained quiet after Justin mentioned a goddess of poison.

Ironic that that was the named he had picked up on and now his mind raced.  To complicate matters, Justin asked for a demonstration of his abilities.  This put him on edge further.  He was about to answer when Myranda spoke up.

Exhaling as he walked, Javal took in a deep breath before he answered.

"Hmmm, where to begin?  I don't normally talk of what I do, I simply do it.  My specialty is killing people to be honest.  I use a combination of surprise, stealth, disguise, intelligence gathering, smoke bombs, caltrops and traps, various weapons, powders and spices, poisons, and a few spells I know all together according to the situation to kill my intended target.  This forces me to travel lightly and with light armor.  I normally don't engage face to face, but I can and will.  Most of what I have and know I like to keep to myself.  I switch things up and have been fairly effective doing that.  When we have intended targets...slavers or evil bastards who wish common simple folk harm I would be more than happy to give you a demonstration.  Right now there is just us three, and I like you both, so no demonstration."

"I will tell you this though.  There is a group of spells that help me with my trade I know.  They can be changed daily if I want, but will share with you what I have right now.  Right now with spells I can disguise myself, detect poison, make a noise somewhere there is none, make sure I hit something the next time I attack, and turn invisible."

After speaking Javal gave another exhale.  It was obvious he was frustrated and didn't like explaining himself or was used to working with others.  After a moment he spoke.

"As far as the gods go I don't listen in about them or know much.  I learned my trade and stuck to it...almost always working alone.  Didn't know there was a goddess of poison. I find that absurd.  If anything someone should pray to a goddess of nature.  That would be the one to provide.  Say, is there a god or goddess of retribution that watches the weak and is their protector?  That's the one I would pray to."

OOC: We are reaching the 1000 post limit here.  Please make a new thread soon Donsr.  Thanks.

Going over to the fireplace, Haildas removes his tinder box, pulls out a small pile and places it into the cold ashes.  Adding some twigs and whatever is available he begins to strike the flint with his dagger, sending sparks showering into the fireplace.

it  takes  a few moments, but the fire  begins to glow... Gring is out  in the  rain with the lantern.

Krwyn sees the glow , the other  2  homes in the area look comfortable  with the  Light coming through  decorations  on their  shutters..

Haildas   see the body of the  dog in better  light, it has been slashed, by an axe, most like...since  a Blade  would have sheared  a cleaner  cut..or?..maybe abadly tended   cutlass.

"Come boy, don't stand out in the weather, here, close to the fire."

Standing slowly, he gazes about the room, taking everything in and looking for anything else out of place.  His sight eventually settles on Krwyn...

"Whoever did this is long gone.  The poor beast is stone cold."

OOC:  If there is a blanket or something of the sort, Haildas will cover the animal.

They stopped   The  Road they were taking   along the River  was  Muddy, it was better  to walk a few  feet off  in the knee high Grasses.

The  River  could be seen as  Sunlight  Glinted off the high waters... Dark brown form   the  Muddy water being   dumped in by streams and  smaller  rivers... Birds  were flying  down  and  snagging fish or even small serpents  that were feeding off the top.

Thus far, there had  been no traffic on the road as he  found  a place where a  fire pit had  been made   with  a Hole and  stacked stone...there  was a small channel  dug towards the river,  for  water  to  run out of the pit, when dosing  the fire.
