Myranda didn't need to promot her mount forward. It's pace quickened carrying her quickly through the massive gates. Calling out greetings to those she knew, both young and old.

Fron Village<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Reaching the   Grave yard, Not  far  from   Kree's Cabin, the  Cousins   found the  grave yard  was in  very good shape, a lot differant  then when  they were here  that last time.

Carr   came out of the side, he had  a rake  .

..You have been keepig this ?

 He Nodded  with a smile.

..Very  good,... You even  tended the Little  one's... Ivy looked  at a small  stone that was next to a proper  grave stone.

Carr   nodded rapidily. he made  some signs  with his hands..  showing  what had  HAppened ,..Your    new Mother?  said...that.. the  child   should have a stome as well.. that....everyone..deserves   thier  Mark

The  Boy  Beamed  as  Kree   struggled through  sorting out the signs.

Ivy  brushed a tear away.. He    opened his pouch , giving  Carr  3 Gold  coins... one   for You.. one for Your  Mother.. and the other..how you see fit.....

Kree   gave him a  small pouch,..take this  to your father Now.. it is your pay for    tending my  cabin, and thses graves... it is nice to know, they are  in good hands.

carr smile d  and  have a   knuckle salute  , runnign   over the other side of the hill to  Carr's step parent's stead.

the  cousins  sat, on a  crude bench.. a  Marker   for Ivy's   lady and  child... Kree's  Mother, and Snapjack Ribbons..all who fell in the raid... a smalle rstone, with no real grave, marked   Kree's  Sister.

The  Morning  was   crisp.. though   the Sun  was  shielded from time to time.....That's the one thing  about  The Timber... no matter how harsh the rain.. bu the  time it n reaches  the forst  floor is  in  But  , gentle...

Ivy  shakes his head,..Aye, but   the  droping  from  leave to leave, branch to brach  and Bough to bough..makes it last  all the longer..

Re: BLACK TIMBER

Jason was as near to following Kree as he could on horseback. Though he was new, he didn’t hear any rules against being close to the leader, and he wanted to eavesdrop if he could. “Rain. Shocking.” He muttered with sarcasm as he pulled his Celtic scarf over his head like a hood.

Krwyn is not disturbed at all by the rain. His cloak protects against most of the moist, and he even likes a little rain a lot more than the heat of a hot summers day.

Re: BLACK TIMBER

as they walked the sounds   of forest Runner , deep in the  heart of the   Trees, made some of the horse uneasy.

flocks  of Razorhawks   flew  from    trees  to watch the    caravan go  by.

when we  reach the kanding?... If the ships aren't there to take us.. we  will help   work on the wall..give us something to do..You new  folks..I will make this clear.... Lucy his a Halfbreed Cat folk with elven blood... you will not see  Catfolk outside the trees that  are 'friends'..   do not be afraid  to  attack them on sight, Unless you are in a  City..then?    they have to attack you first... You find slavers..you kill them.. you find  Red Elevs?  You kill them... Drow?   You Judge  by the company they keep..Goblins and Orcs   are fair GAme, unless you are   at the    western end of the Black Timber..a small tribe of Goblins   there..have aided us in the past.. we do not   attack them..

Sand Folk?.. if they are peasants, and workers. you may let them live... if they are dressed in finery , and carry   weapons and wear glided  armor.. kill them..I miss anything?

Ivy Nods,..Pirates  that do  not have  Ironmound Colors under thiers.. you kill..Halflings  that wear boots?  You kills because they are the Red Isle Halflings.... Gnomes.... Dark Dwarves... and almost all Undead...

we have a small clan of  Vampires, that  aid us... we let them live  because  one of  our own was turned, to save   My cousin's life... I do not like that truce  with them...but we do give them tribute from time to time, with captured   slavers and such..that shouldbe about it , as  far as who to kill... any questions?

Re: BLACK TIMBER

Jason shouted, "You got it captain."

He wasn't sure how he felt about vampires, but one thing he knew for sure, he was no match for one. He was perfectly happy with their little arrangement. The thought briefly crossed his mind to become a vampire himself. He knew eventually he would need to move on from guilt and depression, but an immortal life was sure to have immunity to those emotions.

"I suppose I do have a question, Sir. Do these vampires seem to have a good quality of life?"

Re: BLACK TIMBER

Kree chuckled,.. only the very  powerful Vamps  have   a good life... This   clan that we  work with, Live in   ruins in the   plains.. they have to  move  from time to time, because  the Holy folk send out   clerics and paladins  of  crusades  to   kill undead...like a fox   hunt with robes....

..they seek out slavers , have  killed  many....they will send  us tips wher e a slaver  Headquarters  are, for their  reward, we  will try to  keep  as many alive was  we can, and  give them to them, along with a share of  coin we get..there is a good bet, that some day we will have to destroy them... but i am not rushing that day.

Re: BLACK TIMBER

Jason shakes his head, defeated in that idea. It was too good to be true. Surely a vampire is damned for eternity. Jason only has the rest of his life to be damned.

"Well, eventually our supply of slavers will run out, and we can move on to bigger prey."

Kree   shruggs  as they walk,..been doing this    for   a while... Just about the time you thing you  got  rid of them..some   idiots  think, that making othe r people  suffer is a good  way to make money.. they are sort of   right?.. we make a lot   of money of  Killing  slavers  and such..but the life  of  an Arrow?  who knows....

..After the Trace  Wood, we will go into Ironmound.. see what the Crown wants... then see  what  contracts  Reedrick has  for us.

Kree  and Ivy followed the wagons.. The elf   didn't even have his bow readied.. he called out to   a warden...

..Ride ahead.... see if the ships are  at the landing, or  can be seen.... if not...  we need to send a   hunter or two out   to bring some meat in....we don't want to   feed on the supplies you folks  will be using..

The  Warden from  Timberhome  waved  to acknowldge  Kree and  road off, the hooves  making   soft  thumpings  in the  loam of the  forest floor.

Teh rain was still comign down.. droplets from the  canapoy were more and more  common, Ivy Pulled his Hood up... Kree didn't  seem to mind.

Niphre rode in back, behind Kree and Ivy, and often stared up at the trees that surrounded the traveling party.

She had not been sorry to leave the village, and was happy to be back on the road once more.

Trying as hard as he could not to comment on how airlines did not comment, Jason sort of commented on it.

“Building??? Well, I spent 4 years doing this shit for the slavers and swore I’d never hammer a nail unless it’s going into a skull...but I suppose it’s for a worthy cause. Say, who’s all going hunting for dinner? I’d rather do that.”

Do we get to work now or are we going hunting for dinner first?

Re: BLACK TIMBER

Kree   Nods  to Myra, we have  two here, who  will be able to supply food through thier  Godly  prayers, that  means  we    will all be able  to Lends  Support to the wall....

Turning his  head to Jason,.. We know three things   about the Merchant Landing...right now..before its Build.... The first..it is could to Turn the tide of  Merchant Flow... folks  will have access  to the trace Wood... the  Plains Elves  and thier  Grotto... and  The Balck Timber, with out the Taxes and the  trouble   with goign through City gates  and inspections.....

..With the New  Flow of  Coin, all three of the Elven Nations on the Lather  River, will begin to  Grow, as  merchants settle   in and  set up  bases  of thier  own..

..The Last.. is  the Landing will be  Under attack..by  Sand  Fold  who dare to cross the river... Pirates  and  Bandit s who sail the river..., and , perhaps.... Human Backed  Bandits  to harass  caravans  and try to  destroy  the town....   If all of Us  that live through the next   few weeks?... We  will see  this when we  go visit the Crown, ..I am sure there   will be  more then a few who will  make us  feel....'unwelcome'.

Re: BLACK TIMBER

Nearing the  End of the  Day, the  Caravan  emerged  from the Black Timber.. already a  Road  of  sorts  was being laid.  Wood  chips  and  crushed  stone  to    help provide  traction  for  wagons , for when heavy Rains  came.

The  smell of the  earlier  rain.. the clean air   and went Grasslands  filled the  air... another  few Hours  they would reach  'Merchant's LAnding'.. now  and  again the Thump of  Hammers  and Mauls  as they  Drove  Palisades into the  ground.

Torches  and Fires  burned  to help light, and Provide    cook fires... Tents  were set up.. there were  even   the tops of  a pair of merchant  tents.

.. we  wil be later then I thought..  we  will  eat first, then help the  peopple on the Night  work...

A Human rider in    Greenish leather  Came  up...Captain!...   we  sent out   scouts .. there  are some camps  about  8 miles towards   Tou..  they are  either  Merchants  or  troops.. we didn't  want to  extend  our  People.

..That  is smart... make them come to   you... if they are  troops  they will be well with in range of  The Timber.. if they are merchants,  let them work thier  way  to  you  as other towns  do.. we owe Tou  nothing...
