"We knights have to be even more careful. It's alright at night, but this armor we wear is basically an oven during the day. Fortunately, no enemies seem to want to attack during the day either."

Fortunately.

The Desert would , indeed kill us..or most of us..but  young Inda showed  us  the way to travel.. we  will skirt the desert, in the grasses fort as far as we are able, then , take to the sands  when the sun has gone to rest...

..we  could travel the   jungle, but it is more out of our way, and would slow us down...and this  ....abomination, of a forest..hides its own dangers.

"Thank you.  I lost my brush travelling a day or so ago" she said accepting the comb.  "I do understand deserts.  A former 'Master' was a priest of a desert god.  Travelling to the lands he came from, did add knowledge to several of us about such dangers." She said fairly confidently "Let's see?  Loose clothing, head scarves.  Any extra containers that can hold liquid, fill with water.  Rest in the high point of the day and at night.  Oh, and nights do get chilly.  Let me think...what else?.." she tapped a finger to her lips "Oh ..if there is a sand storm, hunker down with your back facing it and be cautious as it can get into every crack and crevasse...and I mean every one." She used the comb to take care of a small knot in her long blonde hair.

Orlin wakes up, and looks around.  He stretches and gets up and stows his items.  He’s pulling on his satchel when he notices the camels.  “Um...where did those come from?”

"It is not spitting at you..that is a good sign.  If there are no problems then shall we prep as much as we can for the desert?" she said finally getting much of the knots from her hair.  With a gentle hand and smile she handed the comb back to the firehaired elf.  "Thank you Good Sir"  She checked her things to see what she could do without and that which she could fill with water.

Feyamir blinked when Stardancer returned his gift, and stood there stupefied with the simple wooden comb laying on his open hand like that. He shook his head and exhaled before turning to the preparations for the desert trip. He readied two waterskins for himself and his eagle, a bigger one. Obviously huffing and puffing, his twiggy frame barely supporting the extra weight.

Krewe and Ivy were Bundling things   for  Vizzt.. there were times of  argument    as to what he should take, but otherwise, was going   smoothly.

we will be leaving , when the  sun  touched the  far  peaks to the  East... That will give us  1 hour or so of the cooling breezes the  sun causes  as  it runs across the sky. after that hour, we will only have starlight  for a good  2 hours before the first of the sister  moons awake, and they chase each other across the  sky, as we  all saw , during our battle

After a few moments Stardancer heafted to her hooves.  She flexed at her knees a bit to stretch. "Feyamir...If you like, I am quite strong.  I can carry extra water for you, and the others as well." she offered.  She showed the point on her rump that the day before had an arrow or two in it.  Completely healed, not even blood showing.  "Good morning Orlin" she said as he woke "I believe Justin found a few and Myranda found a few".

as the   day went on ,   the packing of  Vizzt's things  took up most of the time, Kree asked his arrows   to take turns peering out  of the ravine, to see if anyone was looking  for  revenge  for the attack on the  Crater

the    split the 6  slaves  into  pairs, with the 'strogest' one assigned to  hold the scattered mage.

The three pairs  were  Directed  to  pic  a CAmel.. That was   3... Brie  and Inda  would share one..4.... Kree  and  Ivy would each have one...6... Myra and  Justin...8.. Luthen..9

Lucy and Di,,11..Orlin 12 ...Niphre  13..Vizzt  14, so  he would have one camel  for his goods  for his Goods, , Ivy and   Kree said they would each take  a Bundle  to add  to what he could take.

Justin noted Feyamir's slight, giving his head a shake of disappointment. Finding a suitable location Justin spent the day in quiet repose, reading his text and praying.

"Extra water is very good, thank you for taking my warning seriously, Stardancer. But remember that ... you'll need more than most. And sun will burn your flanks, if exposed as much as naked skin. Head hair is too little to protect, after all. You are a big girl, so it'll be an extra tent. How's your archery?"

The elf put the comb back into his own hair and smiled cheekily towards the centaur maiden. Only to have one of the camels spit him in the face.
"Ugly menace. I thank you not for sharing your water with me. Horses are cute and graceful. You are ugly abomination."

And so he was ignored by the animal. While trudging forwards, after using his rather voluminous robes to cover his own face and exposes skin.

Still even at night Stardancer thought water would still be precious.  She would load and fill the skins as she could.  "I have an old linen shirt I do not use much,  I can turn it into what my old master called a 'Keyaffiah'..I believe he called it.  It is a light head covering."

She set about preparing for a desert travel.

Since joining the Arrows, Myranda found that sitting around waiting was another part of the things she'd come to know. This was due principally to the fragility of Humans and other similar Humanoid races. To offset this she spent the day with a myriad of preparations.

Kree gets   another wooden  cup,  filling  both with  cool water , he  walked to the  entrance of the ravine. Handing Lucy a Cup..

she drank it  slowly, Kree sipped his  . He did not have to ask if she saw anything, he would have ehard , had she . Pulling his  hood over his head, he  peered  out over the  are towards the crater.. smoke was free to rise now.. Birds  or..some such fliers  were  circling  between the   desert  and the   short grasses, he was not too worried   of  anyone  trying to track them. He was more concerned  about people  comign from Mok.

He poured the rest of his water into Lucy's  cup  and said,..come back in, in a few minutes.. no one is going to dare the ravine in the day... he  he   began his walk back to  Vizzt home.

Watching Kree return Myranda strolled across to him. When we get to Mok How many assistants will you be accepting to deal with the Beggars Guild? I'd guess the rollers could come in handy, with their ability to spot those unsavoury types.
