Hello all.

And then there were three little piglets.

Let's have some activity. Shoot me ideas for the first scene, and short term plans for your characters. Let's have stuff out in the open.

I have an idea:

In the first iteration of this game, I had this scene where a bully tried to mess with me (stealing my plush doll Shikigami), only for it to go badly for him. Maybe we could reenact it, only with a larger group of thugs and a cavalry scene.

So we could have Shira use her Jew Jitsu Kensai (hmmm... Tesai? nvm) education methods on the thugs? Also, looking at Shira's stats... she _is_ the cavalry. Unless the other girls are seriously buff, they won't be helping by much - unless you want to ramp up the emotional content ("Thanks for saving me! I thought I they would... would... *stamps attacker in the nuts repeatedly while she sniffles*"). As first scenes go, it's not bad, and we could use it to tie all of your characters together.

I like what you've done with the character sheet. Do you have a blank one I could post as a template for everyone?

Shira might be tough, but I don't think she can necessarily take on an entire football team by herself, especially when they've got a hostage in the form of Inari.

Shira beats up William and his two cronies and rescues Inari. Unlike in the original game, rather than backing down and becoming scared of Shira, he instead gets together the rest of his possy a few days later and tries for round two. Shira might be able to fight really well, but against 12 dudes she's outmatched. When it looks the worst, that's when Zelda and Shirley pop in.

Just one thing: Shira has a decently high Composure and Emotional Detachment. I see her as being the kind of girl who wouldn't break down crying even if what you're implying happened.

I'm fine with whatever sort of setup, really. Have you decided yet when and where the chronicle is taking place?

As for character sheets, I decided I'm going to put all the fluff in the character description here and then just have a link at the top to my Mythweavers sheet.

Also we asked some questions over on GiantITP that I'll reproduce here:

1. Can we use "Optional Rule: Transformed Dots" on page 61? Some of us already have, and it's especially useful for upping one's combat pools while transformed without having to explain why one's character is a master marksman/martial artist.

2. Our first ST gave us all Inner Light 2 for free at start (but then banned us from raising it further with merit dots) for convenience's sake. Would you be willing to do the same? It's not really important but I figure it can't hurt to ask, and also it does fit with some of us having some experience under our belt in our backstories.

EDIT: If MReav has in fact posted Shira's character sheet (with stats) here somewhere then I can't find it.

The character sheet as its set up is only viewable by you and the GM. Maybe we could have a thread where we can publicly show our character sheets.

Transformed dots sounds fine.

You'll start at 1 inner light, but I'll let you engage in limited deficit spending. Just like the government. But no more than 2-3 dots spread out over the char sheet.

In that case I need to decide whether I'd rather have Barrier Jacket or Open Heart as my Practical Charm. I'm kind of leaning towards the one that helps me not die, but only kind of.

Next question: earlier versions of the rules let Shikigami use Bequests and gave them one or two free ones, but now they need to also be Sworn for that. Would Inari (Shira's Shikigami Retainer) cost any extra dots* in order to be Sworn? And how many Bequests would he come with? If we crib from the rules for Ghoul Retainers then he'd have two dots' worth; incidentally, at least in the copy of Vampire I have Ghoul Retainers don't cost any extra, which IMO seems to indicate that neither should Sworn.

* As in would he be e.g.- a three dot Retainer with the dice pools of a two dot Retainer.

Huh. I'll have to re-read the damn thing to answer that one. Then again, perhaps I better just wing it and let you have your Sworn for free, then. I don't see the point in insisting that it cost extra if sounds sensible for the character.

However, I might let your Retainer have a quirk for that, one I can exploit later on. Deal?

It's not my Retainer so that's MReav/Shira's call. :P

In other news, yesterday afternoon I PMed (on GiantITP) those of us who haven't put their characters here yet so let's hope that pays off quickly.

In other news, I just figured out how best to put a particular aspect of Zelda's character into writing and updated her sheet and details accordingly. Namely, the fact that her love life tends toward being a comedy of errors; see "Zelda in Love" under "Personality" and the new "Condition Descriptions" section at the bottom.

Way back two STs ago I actually homebrewed an extremely elaborate Condition called "Hopeless Romantic" to represent and enforce all that, but eventually realized that I could achieve the same results much more simply and elegantly through liberal use of voluntary dramatic failures and taking the Swooning Condition a lot.
