Log1-2

"Okay," Locke says.  "It's time for insertion.  Any other questions, we'll have to answer them via the hardline."  He leads you over to your chairs.  "Good luck," he says.  "Remember, this is a recon mission.  Let Binary do his job, and we'll extract you with no hitches."

You feel a slight tingling as X inserts the line into your head, and then it clicks into place, holding your head tightly in position.  "Here we go," X says.  He pushes a few buttons and...

You find yourselves tightly packed in a 10 foot by 10 foot room.  Binary, Caine, Jade, Grid, Lazarus, and Xan.  It is completely dark, so Binary turns on his flashlight.

As he does so, you bump into something behind you.  Spinning, you all turn your flashlights.  You swing your guns around in anticipation.  But all you see is a pile of junk.  Computer parts, consoles, broken monitors, and wiring.  It looks like someone dumped an office full of equipment in here.

"This is just a storage closet," Binary explains, pushing down your weapons with his arm.  But he turns his flashlight to a corner, where a telephone sits on top of an end table.  Just to make sure it's there for your exit.

Binary flips the light switch.  Nothing happens.  "That's strange," he says and opens the closet door.

It is completely dark outside the room.  Pitch black.  But the open door lets in sound.  Strange staticky sounds from somewhere distant down the hall.

Re: Log1-2

Caine cursed softly under his breath, the scar on his face that was still present through residual self-image, jumped and twitched as both pistols came up at the implied trouble, the pile of junk...

Shaking his head slightly at the pile of junk, he turned back and scowled at Binary, watching as the man reached for the light switch, his guns returning to their shoulder rigs...

With the lack of light from the click of the switch and Binary's comment about the lack of power, the dual Berettas came back out from under his black denim jacket quickly, his eyes turning hard as flint as he waited for Binary to lead the way, "Damnit, don't like this..." he growled angrily...

Re: Log1-2

Lazarus lowers his left hand as he spots the pile of junk, he scans the room with his flashlight and as Binary told them, he only spots piles and piles of old computer parts. He walks behind Binary; he motions to everyone behind him to stop and looks to Binary as he opens the door. "We have a job to do, no matter how odd the situation seems, what do we do know Binary, I'm sure this isn't what you expected?"

Re: Log1-2

"What the..." Binary starts.  "This place should be full of people.  The lights are never off."  He steps out of the room.

You follow him.  You are standing at the T-junction outside room E3.  It is completely dark except for occasional small flashes of light coming somewhere from your right and down one of the halls to the left.  You can only see about the thirty feet or so ahead of you that is illuminated by your flashlight.  There is a faint mist or smoke which further limits vision.  From the looks of it, the smoke has been circulating around the place for quite some time.

Binary lifts his beretta, the only weapon he has programmed in.  "Maybe they closed the project down," Binary wonders aloud.  "Lack of government funding.  Maybe they thought I died and abandoned the project."  He seems stumped and stands still without moving.  He shifts from foot to foot, apparently a little nervous.

Re: Log 1-2

A voice picks up in your ear.  "Hello?  Can you hear me?  I'm completely blind up here.  I'm not getting much in the way of digital readings.  There's a lot of interference.  Electrical.  Smoke.  Garbage.  I'll try to get a better fix on things, but it may take awhile."

Binary picks up the phone and tells X that it looks dark and abandoned.

"That's not all," X says.  "It looks like someone blew the hell out of the place.  Proceed with caution."

Re: Log 1-2

"You are surprised that this building looks this way?!" Grid's tenor voice rumbles from behind the group.  The first words he's spoken since joining, "That really is niavete considering you haven't had any word from them for 3 years."

A virtual goliath of a man, he pushes his way to stand beside Binary, looking down on the smaller man with a small frown of concern.....or is it derision.  "If you are frightened to lead the way, then I shall do so.  Just direct me as to where we need to go."

His AK-47 comes off his back in one swift fluid movement giving the impression that Grid will not take "no" for an answer.
