Log 2-7

At station 1, Viper fires his EM rifle at one of the mutants...but it jumps sideways and rolls adroitly to the side.  Its diamonds light up as the beam touches it, but it does not appear to be injured.  It launches itself at Viper.

Fault takes the handgun and turns toward the mutants just as one jumps to pounce on Viper.

Ted is aiming to fire at another mutant.

Snow finishes hooking up his EM Rifle to the machine, mumbling, "I think it will work."

Elle says, "Stand away from the machine in case it blows!"

At station 2, the mutant launches itself at Mitose...

Seeing the way clear, the rest of the party hops into the train.

Mitose tries a judo maneuver to throw the mutant past him...but he fails.  The creature claws out at him, but his attempted maneuver throws off the creature's aim.  They both turn to face each other about ten feet apart.  Mitose is now between the creature and the train, which is about 20 feet away.

The others clamber into the train car and look at the control panel.  It consists of a single lever (presumably for traction and braking control), a reversing key, a small numeric and symbol keypad, and an LCD flat panel graphic/alphanumeric display (as in a laptop computer).  The display appears to be used in conjunction with the keypad to control doors, reset alarms of various sorts, display train speed and braking information, etc.  A direction indicator on the display indicates that currently the train will go forward toward station 3, directly into the approaching monstrous creature.

Laz, Lot, Sam, and Jade are in the train.  Mitose is 20 feet just outside the door.  The mutant is about 10 feet from him, and the second mutant is climbing up onto the far side of the platform another 15-20 feet from that.

Re: Log 2-7

Snow will turn the machine on. He then snatches up his shotgun, turns and aims towards an unengaged mutant. If it steps towards them, he'll start firing.

Re: Log 2-7

Mitose feints to strike at the Eel-man, and then breaks into an acrobatic escape, leaping into a roll, to hopefully avoid any subsequent attack, and making for the door to the train.  Should he get aboard, he'll defend the doorway, using the narrow aperture to his advantage.

Laz looks at the controls and looks at the scientist he brought in, "Now how to work this thing better then me, I hope."

Re: Log 2-7

After having a look around the train making sure that it was safe Lot returns to the door.  He takes a kneeling stance and prepares to cover Mitoses retreat.  Taking notice of the second mutant Lot crys out, "Mitose time to pull back buddy, there are more coming."

Lot takes aim at the closest mutant and waits for an opportunity to fire.

Fault aims at the mutant attacking Viper and squeezes back on the trigger, hoping to at least distract the beast.

Jade hits the reverse direction button.  "I hope this points us in the right direction," she says.

Re: Log 2-7

Snow starts up the machine.  It begins to make a whining sound as it is gaining energy.  The attached EM Rifle begins to shake and jitter as it powers up.

The mutant lands on Viper, claws pulling back flesh.  The claws are like sharpened knives ripping through him (13 HT dmg).  Viper instantly loses consciousness. (-6 HT)

Fault fires at the mutant attacking Viper.  He makes a solid hit on the mutant's neck.  The mutant also appears to be trembling violently from the EM emissions of the machine.  It jumps off, trailing blood, and dives weakly into the water.

The creatures continue to come in from the shadows and deeper within the tunnels.  They still seem hesitant to come too close to the EM emission machine, although they are circling around the whole party making strange wheezing sounds.

One creature takes a tentative step into the circle.  Snow fires his shotgun at it.  The blast echoes around the platform, and the creature squeels and flies off the platform and onto the tracks.

There are several more mutants circling and more approaching.  Probably 7 circling and 3-5 approaching from the shadows.

Ted fires the sniper rifle again.  Another good shot.  He gets a mutant in the gut.  It makes a high pitched whining sound before falling back clutching its stomach.

Elle is by Yusaku Kamakura, who is still unconscious.  She is touching his neck.  "Oh, no," she says.  "We're too late.  Yusaku is dead."  She begins trying CPR, but the man has lost a lot of blood so her efforts are doubtless in vain.

The EM machine is making a very loud buzzing and winding up sound.  You are not sure what it will do...or if it will blow up.

Jade hits the reverse key.  There is an audible click, and a few lights light up.  On the LCD display, the path back to station 1 is also lit up.

Mitose expertly makes his acrobatic move and heads to the train.

Lot has a good opportunity to fire, and he has solid aim.  He lets a bullet fly, and it hits its mark in the mutant's shoulder.  The mutant is angered by the pain and presses forward, but it has bought you a few seconds.

Mitose jumps through the open doorway.

The door is still open.  The train is not moving.  And that large monster is moving very quickly toward the train.  It makes deafening sounds like amplified seal calls.  A second later, 4 more mutants climb up from the far end of the platform.

Laz looks at Jade, "Guess we aren't going anywhere; we should try and close the door to this thing."

Sam is getting weak, but he points to the lever.  "Traction," he says.  "To get it going.  Release the traction."  He plops down on one of the seats, almost to the point of unconsciousness.

Re: Log 2-7

Lot continues to cover Mitose as he runs for the safety of the train.  He takes aim at the lead mutant with the intent to cripple one of its legs.  When the timing is right he will fire and step aside so Mitose can enter the train quickly.
