Daredevil's comments illicit a roll of Demian's eyes, though it's partially hidden behind his sunglasses.

"Elevators by Ra's nightclub. Screed's leading the way."

Re: Log 3-2

As you approach the inclinators, you notice that they are back behind the hustle and bustle of the casino, but two security guards are checking room keys.

"By the way," X says in your earpieces, "For all you new guys, remember that the earpieces are only one way into the Matrix.  They are not likely to attract the attention of Zero-One.  However, if you use the cell phones to call out of the Matrix, you could be sending out a beacon.  So only use them in case of emergency.  Don't worry, I'm watching you on the monitors."

Re: Log 3-2

To no one in particular, Screed says "Well, isn't that a pleasure?"  Moving ahead of the group, he puts on his best smile and walks right up to security while flashing a room key.  Then turning just his head, he smiles wider and waves everyone else over.  Pausing just long enough for them to examine the key, he heads towards the elevators as if they own the place.

did someone say pink?

The security guard appears not to really notice.  He looks at the keycard and hands it back to Screed, waving him through.  However, a newlywed couple seems to be eyeing the group.

As long as they are not between the group and the elevator, Screed will make his way to the elevator and press the button to try and make their way tot he room as quickly as possible.

Methuselah follows without comment.  He helps usher the group along silently, trying not to attract any unwelcome attention.

Demian follows Screed past the security guards, trying to remain stoic in the excitement of this place. “I think that maybe we are stars here,” Demian says softly to Screed after seeing the attention from the newlyweds.

Re: Log 3-2

The security guards hardly take notice as you shuffle by and into an elevator.  Everything inside, even the elevator/inclinator, is decorated in Egyptian style.  Your Suite is on the 20th floor, and the inclinator's buttons read B2, B1, Casino Level, Attractions Level, and then they go from the numbers 3 to 30.

Screed mutters, "Hmnmm... straight and plain levels," and he presses 20.  He looks like he is ready to get to the room and check out his gear because he keeps playing with the catches on the case.  He keeps his eyes on he numbers as they count up, while peripherally looking for cameras and the like.

Jade says, "I think that's the wrong way, guys.  Remember the riddle?"

"In descending, Ra declines;
Be one, he pushes,
And then look for this:
In heaven abides one,
And in hell one too.
He has one also,
And though there’s none in eternity,
In hypothesis there’s two."

She waits for their reply as the elevator ascends and says, "Don't you think we should be going down to B1?"

"If they break Binary before we get him back, chances are you won't have a body to go back to.  And not to mention that the ship is in danger as long as it's connected.  I just say that because last time we barely escaped with the ship.  Remember that hole Hammer was repairing?  That was from the Sentinels."  She pauses.  "But if there's an actual good reason to go back to the room, I'm all ears."

Re: Log 3-2

Demian nods as Jade straightens Screed out. B1 was exactly what they were looking for...of course a buffet did sound really good after that crap they have to eat in the “real” world. “Someday Screed; Someday we won’t have to run from the machines. But first we have to do our job.”

Demian pulls out his Zippo, flips it open, and stares at the flame for a minute as they come down from the initial ride up. “Does anyone else think that this is going way too smoothly? At this rate their will be a door with a big ‘H’ just right outside the elevator on floor B1. In my experience, things are never this easy.”

Re: Log 3-2

The elevator opens on floor B1.  You enter a hallway.  Behind you are the three inclinators.  The hall is wider than most, about 10 feet wide, obviously used in conjunction with service elevators.  The hall itself is in a T formation, with the three inclinators at the top of the T and rows of doors lining the wall.  Down at the bottom of the "T" is a service elevator.  Each of the doors is marked with an Egyption heiroglypic, except for doors marked "Janitor" and one marked "Lavatory."

X's voice in your ear says, "You must be getting close.  The signal's getting bad.  I think once you get into his digital fortress, we won't have communications.  But I guess that was obvious."

Elle's feminine voice pipes in, "Now, remember, Vincent is not the kindest man.  He hates people.  A real misanthrope because he's in that wheelchair.  He's got all that hair loss, growths on his face, and cokebottle glasses.  You shouldn't miss him."

Before you have a chance to respond or to look at the symbols on the doors, one of the other inclinators opens.  The newlywed couple steps out and looks at you.

They are both well groomed and have kind faces.  The clean-shaven man says, "Are you searching for God?"  They look at you as though you might have in common some kind of inside knowledge with them.

"Maybe we were wrong," the woman says anxiously to the man, tugging on his shoulders back toward the inclinators.

He stands still.  "No," he says.  "I don't think so."  He looks appraisingly at each of you.

Screed piously clasps his hands in front of him and looks heavenward.  Bowing his head he continues in a subdued voice, "Brother and Sister, I noticed you upstairs, but I dared not approach.  We know how secret some things must stay.  Pray tell me, good people, what you might know if God and how to seek this mighty one out."  He glances back so that the others will keep their peace for a moment.

Screed tries to cover up his surprise and drops his religious pretense.  "Yes, but he doesn't want to be found, now does he?"  He turns his head back to the group and says, "Meth, anyone, some help here please?"
