OOC:  Keep in mind that rounds are 1 second.  It takes 1 second to ready a weapon plus one second for each aim…to avoid a quickdraw penalty.

Round 1:
Cala drops to the left against the wall, stopping before she gets too close to the door.  Her pistol is stuffed into her belt.

Jade fires her M-16 in a continuous stream at the door.

Uzis blast into the room from the doorway.

Screed fires at the second uzi-wielder.

Dracos stops before getting too close to the door and raises his weapon.

Rabbit fires toward the doorway.

Shadow readies his weapon.

Jade is hit by Uzi fire.  (8 dmg).  The shots whiz by Dracos’ head and hit Rabbit.  Rabbit is hit in the head by a burst.  (25 dmg).  Rabbit falls to the ground.  A burst from guy 3 slams into the turned over table behind which Screed hides, sounding like pellets hitting wood.

Screed hits Uzi guy 2 and Jade makes a good sweep of the whole group.  Guy 2 collapses from the fire.  Guys 1 and 2 stand in the doorway to get a good sweep.  Rabbit misses.

Codec goes into focus mode (Focus 3):
Round1-1 He unstraps his M-16.
Round 1-2 He lifts it up while diving down into the smoke under the table.
Round 1-3 He aims at Armand.

Round 2:
Uzi blasts again fire into the room.  This time, Cala takes a shot in the leg.  (7 dmg).  Screed and Shadow make defensive rolls and fall behind the table as a spray comes near them, just missing them.  They are out for the round.

Jade fires another stream, knocking guy 3 back as he is pelted with bullets.  Dracos also hits him, and guy 3 is down.

Cala’s weapon is now out and ready.

Codec comes out of Focus mode and fires at Armand.  Armand is unprepared for the quick focus maneuver and loses sight of Codec in the smoke.  (No defenses.)  He is pelted with bullets and collapses to the floor.

Round 3:
Guy 1 is pelted with bullets from the entire group as Screed and Shadow step up and fire, Cala and Dracos fire, and Jade finishes off her clip in the doorway.  He falls dead over the top of his two companions.

Codec is moving deeper into the smoke, but it is starting to sting his eyes.

Jade runs out of the door and peeks around the other office's door with her gun raised and ready, although she does not step into the doorway.  "We've got you surrounded, Da Vinci," she says.  "Surrender now and come with us."

Screed calls, "Get to Codec!"  His desire to protect his comrades overcomes his desire to fulfill the mission at the moment.  He dodges into the clear and moves to Rabbit even though from what he saw, there's not much he will be able to do.

OOC: are the 2 guys still around DV? Is Armand dead? How thick is the smoke compared to my visibility?

Codec sits in the smoke and breathes slowly to calm his racing heart as well as to avoid attracting any unwanted attention.

If the smoke blocks my vision I'll use penetrating vision to see thru it. I will then crawl towards the closet body guard and aim and shoot w/ my M-16 w/ alternating shoots toward BG1 and 2.

The smoke is now obscuring all sight of DV and his bodyguards.  Armand is dead.  The smoke is filling up the entire room except the east wall area.

Ok, if smoke covers me I will get up (silently), move to the smoke filled wall where DV/BG1&2 are and rush tackle all 3 of them as silently as possible.

Dracos will head into the hallway to check for more threats before pointing his gun straight at Da Vinci's Head, "Give me a reason, mofo. There's quite a few of us you'd have to deal with, and I'm pretty sure we'd win. So just coem with us quietly."

Shadow gives a quick look to Screed then to Rabbit,

"That isn't good."

Shadow follows the others to the hallway, the image of Rabbit's head exploding still fresh in his mind.  Once there, his rage begins to build over the man the would more than likely lose today.  Moving quickly into the next room, Shadow goes into focus speed to return the favor.

FYI, you cannot see Da Vinci or his bodyguards through the thick smoke.  (Read my last post again.)  So no one knows where his "head" is exactly.

And no one's really using their codebreaker skills much...

Screed moves to Rabbit, who is indeed dead.


Jade is now between the doorways.  Dracos moves into the hallway next to Jade.  Shadow follows, and they are all three standing between the two doors in the hall.


You hear a click and a high pitched beeping.

Codec moves around the table to rush tackle the figures hidden in the smoke.

Some...thing emerges from the smoke, rushing right back at Codec.



The two prepare to lock in combat as Da Vinci also steps from the smoke.  A device like those used by the Awakened is in his right hand, and he slaps it on the window as he raises something in his left hand...a samurai sword.


Meanwhile, in the room next door, something steps directly through the wall, holding an Uzi in one hand and a long-bladed dagger in the other.  It takes on form again once through the wall.

And the only one left for it to lock its gaze on is Screed.

Screed's face falls as he exclaims in fear, "Oh sh.."  He acts without thinking.  Entering focus speed, he darts for the door.  He shouts to get people out of the way, "MOVE!"

OOC: I'll charge the werewolf using my shield in my off hand up front for def. I will shoot at it w/ my M-16 while charging and attempt to avoid DV.

Dracos sprints towards the room where Da Vinci and Company is at the moment. Da Vinci is concern number 1, followed by whatever else happens. They needed to get Da Vinci at once.

Jade fires her M-16...and a couple rounds seem to hit the werewolf creature, but do not slow him considerably.

Screed begins to run out the door.  The vampire-like creature that just walked through the wall glances in Screed's direction.

Screed, however, is in Focus mode (-3 CB Fatigue) and is moving quickly.

The vampire creature fires his uzi at the departing Screed, but Screed's focus has saved him this time.  A trail of bullets hits the wall as Screed runs out into the hall next to Dracos, Jade and Shadow.  Screed can barely believe he escaped unharmed.

Da Vinci pushes a button on the device, and the Matrix appears to shiver around him.  In a strange optical illusion, it appears that a hallway of doors opens directly behind him.  As he waits for the Matrix to stabilize, Da Vinci holds up his sword to ward off any attackers.

The werewolf creature slams head on into Codec, bringing its giant claws to bear down.  Codec lifts his shield, which blocks an attack, but another claw gets through, dangerously close to his throat.  (5 dmg)  Codec fires his M-16 at point blank range.  The werewolf creature is riddled with bullets and falls over to the side off of Codec, but it is still alive and preparing to attack Codec again.

Dracos runs into the room after Da Vinci, jumping onto the table as Da Vinci backs toward the portal doorway with samurai sword raised.  Codec and the werewolf struggle just to his right.

Codec enters focus mode
Glares at DV, "DV is makin a RUN FOR IT!!!

Focus Mode:
1.) Moves away from werewolf and reloads M-16
2.) Fires at werewolf
3.) Runs and shoots at DV w/ M-16 in order to prevent him from escaping. I'll use my shield to block his sword if he attempts to swing at me.

Eyes wander over to werewolf, "You ain't bulletproof yet...", he mutters smiling.

Dracos lowers his pistol towards the man's knees and fires at them as fast as he can. Hopefully with the distraction of being shot in the knee, it would be long enough to get to him and detain him.

RULES ALERT:  Because we are into a reloading issue, let me restate the GURPS rules for reloading (for Codec and Jade at the moment).

Remember first that one turn equals one second, and you are preparing for three seconds every post during combat, so it may be more turns for seconds you are in focus speed.

Each "turn," you can perform one "maneuver."  Maneuvers are listed here:  http://www.fortunecity.com/riv.../693/matrix/id37.htm

Note that some maneuvers take more than one second.

RELOADING From page 96 of the Basic Rules:
For replaceable magazines in a magazine gun (like the M-16's), it takes 3 seconds (one to prepare, one to acquire, and one to insert).

Integral magazines and revolvers are different.  Ask if you need to know.

If you have the "Fast Draw" skill, then it can speed reloading (see pg. 50).  This would fall under the "Fast Draw: Speedloader" skill.  (Note: I think this was taken out of the 4th edition, if you are using those rules.)

And don't forget about the Aim maneuver to avoid aiming penalties.
