Re: Log 5-3

Screed looks down at his chest losing himself to his thoughts.  He stands there for a moment and then raises his head with a sly smile.  His image starts to waver and suddenly he disappears.

Re: Log 5-3

Zhang says, "Now let your challenge begin."

The ninja-like man steps forward, and you see that he carries numchucks in his left hand, a shurikin in his right hand, a katana strapped to his back, and possibly other things in the folds of his robe.

He steps to the center of the area, and Zhang bows and steps out.  "Begin!" he says.

Zhang says, "Since you have no weapons, you must work as a team to take down your opponent, capitalizing on your skills and abilities to disarm or otherwise disable him."

Codec enters a defensive stance, and waits for the man to attack in order to disarm him.

OOC: Other than a 4 doored room. What other features does the room have? Any ledges or support beams to 'fly' around on?

Re: Log 5-3

You're not in a room.  There are four buildings surrounding a dirt "arena" area.  The center of the arena is about 40 feet from the center of each small building.  The buildings are like wooden sheds with sloped triangular roofs.  Your four combatants have appeared at each corner between two buildings.

Zhang has moved back toward one of the buildings where he can watch.  He suddenly jumps up and back, landing on the thatched roof of the building, and watches you from above.

Dracos decides the best offence for the moment is a good defence.THey had no idea of these combatant's strategies or abilities. To him, it'd be best to hang back and defend himself against incoming attacks the first round.

"Okay, you whusses," Jade says, watching her companions stand back like scaredy cats.  "I'll get him in a headlock, and you take his weapons."

She rushes forward, goes into Focus speed (3), and then:

1 rnd - Feint left
2 and 3rd rnds - grapple with Judo and get him in a headlock.

Re: Log 5-3

Alright, the GM has informed me that Inv Art doesn't work like that, so Screed is quite visible at the moment.

Screed steps back a couple of paces to get out of melee range.  He starts concentrating, focusing his energy.

OOC: Invisible art is more like thieves sneaking up for backstabbing than a magical invisibility thing.  It's the ninja art of being invisible in plain sight...

Would it give him bonuses on holstered/sheathed weapons grabs?

Re: Log 5-3

It cannot be used in combat, so if he succeeds in becoming invisible to that attacker, he then can get a bonus of 3 in a disarm roll because the opponent will not be ready for the grab, but may hold onto the weapon as soon as he becomes aware of it.

Jade rushes forward.  The man lunges back to strike with numchucks, but Jade dodges them successfully, grabbing the man and holding him in a successful headlock.

Screed lunges forward and tries to start pulling weapons off the guy.  He tries to stand on the side opposite the other three opponents.  He tries to work quickly and efficiently.  "Grab em while their hot, guys."

He starts with the sword and then moves to firearms.  Rolled several for time's sake.

Re: Log 5-3

OOC: If any of you are going into Focus speed, please indicate that as well.  Also, please remember that if you are not standing next to the man, you will have to travel the distance to him, and you can be sure he will be trying a maneuver to get out of the headlock.

Keep these things in mind.

Re: Log 5-3

OOC:
For this battle, you will need to make sure to keep track of:

Fatigue
CB Fatigue
Health

I will assume that the Character sheet thread is up to date for each of you on this matter.  Remember that fatigue is measured by your strength score.

Here is an example of how I am keeping track of this:

Jade:
Fatigue: 10/10  3
CB Fatigue: 7/10
Health: 15/15

(The 1 is the number of seconds the person has been in combat.  Remember that after 10 seconds, you deduct one fatigue for each additional second unless you rest.  Jade has a 3 because Focus time counts.

If you have any special attributes that affect fatigue, please remind me.)

Screed:
Fatigue: 9/9
CB Fatigue: 9/9
Health: 11/11

Codec:
Fatigue:  10/10
CB Fatigue: 10/10
Health: 12/12

Dracos:
Fatigue: 10/10
CB Fatigue: 10/10
Health: 10/10

Shadow:
Fatigue: 13/13
CB Fatigue: 13/13
Health: 11/11

Re: Log 5-3

OOC: I updated the maneuvers to include the full description of Head Lock since Jade is doing this maneuver.  See the Rules UPdates thead to read it:  link to a message in "GURPS - Masters of the Matrix"

Here it is again:

Head Lock (Hard)  Def:  Judo-4 or Wrestling-4
Prereq: Judo or Wrestling; cannot exceed prereq lvl
This attack consists of putting the target's head in a lock, similar to a choke hold, but holidng it in such a way that the target can be thrown while using the neck as the axis of the throw - which will almost certainly break the target's neck.  After Grappling the foe, the attacker must roll against Head Lock to grab the neck (the target can make any Active Defense against this; PD does not protect).  On a success, the target's head has been put in a lock.
The following round, the attacker can try to either Choke the victim (treat as normal Strangling roll), or he can throw him; the throw is resolved as a Quick Contest between the attacker's Judo or Wrestling skill and the defender's ST, DX, Judo or Wrestling, whichever is highest.  If the attacker wins, the target takes swing damage (plus a bonus equal to 1/8 Wrestling or Judo skill) to the neck, which is multiplied by 1.5.  If defender wins or ties, no dmg is taken and the victim can try to Break Free.
See Neck Snap maneuver for lasting effects of neck damage.
